Wordle: five, my starter was RUGBY
Another solution from my list, and I scored a five. I’m not good at Wordle, and that’s bothering me.

FIRST! Which is weird because it’s like 9 o’clock.
Maybe everyone else assumed the blog would be broken again? 🙂
My theory is that they were abducted by aliens.
Ha! Normally I’d blame the lack of quality content in my blog post, but honestly I don’t think that matters at all.
I have these three girlfriends who have had a text thread going for several years but we haven’t actually seen each other since the pandemic started, and last year one of them even moved to Seattle. The one from Seattle is back for a visit so we managed to get our shit together to meet up at Muchacho last night. So much fun! Plus the crispy chicken sandwich is amazing.
That’s awesome.
A lot of people have discovered the Thursday Murder Club with the release of the Netflix movie. Since I was familiar with the author’s, Richard Osman, previous work, I’ve been reading the books since they started. A new book in the series is coming out at the end of this month, and I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t thing to put a library hold on sooner; currently I’m 163rd in line.
Fun night at the Variety Playhouse last night. The opening band Corrosion of Conformity did not match up to my expectations of a thrash metal band. Instead, they sounded like a whole lot like The Connells, which wasn’t surprising when I saw that both bands are from Raleigh. I kind of which I’d seen more of their stuff, but I was hedging my bets showing up halfway through their set.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre made it through their show with only minimal tension. Last year they were at the end of the tour and absolutely couldn’t stand each other. They took several minutes between songs to agree on what to play next, and had a huge fight that left only one guy on stage. Conversely, they kept it pretty well together this time, and sounded great.
I am hatching a plan to make a quick trip to Denver next month to see The Beta Band, who has reunited after a 20 year hiatus.
Oooooh. I love The Beta Band ever since High Fidelity.
There’s not many bands I’d get on an airplane to go see, but they’re not coming anywhere near Atlanta on the current tour. Their music very much helped me get through my divorce.
Last!! And Wordle in 5.
Back from shilling at the Yellow Daisy Festival for the Games. I think I soaked through my kilt with sweat. It was hot when standing in the sun.
Added a stop on the return at YDFM. I really can’t remember when I was last there. Still about the same. I wish it was closer.
Now watching today’s stage recap. Part of the final climb is at 30%!!
