This weekend I traveled to Asheville to see Bully perform. This time her concert was a near my plans in Brevard Friday. So, in two weeks I saw Bully in Huntsville and Asheville, but not in Atlanta, five blocks from the ITP Estate.
On Friday morning I drove over to Brevard with the intent of rewriting my history by once again hiking John’s Rock and Cat Gap, this time alone. I arrived to a completely empty parking lot with the facilities fenced off, clearly a consequence of Helene. Anyway, I neither felt comfortable leaving my car in the remote lot alone, nor hiking alone in an area that had no one around if I were to get into difficultly. Such is the plight of the solo hiker… This was mildly frustrating as I had eaten a large breakfast with the intent on taking a long hike. After abandoning my original plan I regrouped at a local coffee shop, and found a different hike; I wore myself out doing 8.6 miles.
Yesterday I finally tasted pawpaw! I wish I had a source for more. The three trees I planted, at least the two that survived, and the two I will plant later this year will take years to produce fruit. I also ran into a former coworker while walking around the small festival in Taylors, SC, which was quite unexpected.
Wordle: three, my starter was LIMBO
Wordle in 4 and coulda been 2!
Let’s see- worked on my Friday off after returning from the post-colonoscopy visit.
Mowed pasture Saturday before the AL-FSU game and went for a ride at halftime. 20 miles and the game did not end well.
Breakfast on the Blackstone Sunday. It does a right fine bacon and pancakes. A nice scooter ride- saw a 6 point buck far too close to the WMA to last through the season. Passed the old GT research antennas (a couple of 30m dishes, now just used for movie shoots) and lots of other scooter riders. Mowed the front pasture- if bugs are any indication of pasture health, ours is quite healthy.
Happy Labor Day!

Don’t know why your comments keep getting sent to the trash. I just happened to look since no one had seemingly commented by 10am.

Coulda, and probably shoulda. 🙂
paw paws – I know there are trees in N GA, on a hike I’ve done – when are they ripe? Let’s go for a hike. Cissy (Dr PP) picked some – but I can’t remember when. I’m thinking right around now?
