I’m back, and fuck it’s still hot.

Wee Little Farm is also suffering. Many large cucumbers were on the vines, some were over ripe, and some were consumed by pickle worms. More than half of the ones I picked yesterday were directly added to the compost bin. At least there were some I damaged ripe tomatoes on the vine. Later in the day I went out to look at something and saw that one ripening tomato I left on the vine had been eaten.

In doing research about the pickle worm problem, I read this:

“Pickleworms are native to southern states like Texas, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Sanford, Michigan, Connecticut, and even further up north. Pickleworms are excellent migratory insects”

Sanford? Did I miss Captain Chaos using an Executive Order to create a new state? And since when are Michigan and Connecticut southern states?

Wordle: five, a very disappointing five, my starter was WAGER

Wordle in 5. So. Many. Options.

After collecting metal recycling, I dropped it off at a place not too far from JEFDSDR. I rolled on to Senoia for a late lunch of fish and chips at the Irish pub there. While the Guinness was delicious, the meal was only so so.

I waited until the sun was sinking to weed whack the driveway with the new string trimmer. It worked well until I ran out of string. I can’t get auto-feed to work, so there’s that. More research…

I will phone into the Games meeting tonight. My hair cutter moved across the street and today was supposed to be her first day- I stopped by yesterday and the shop was in disarray. We shall see…

are you using Chatgpt for that info about the pickle worms?

  3. Barb says:

wordle in 4 – the guesses just came to me quickly – it was weird

Mostly packed – well – the clothes are laying on the guest bed, just need to get everything into the suitcase & backpack.

Went to RuSan’s up on Kennesaw last night with a friend that was in town – she moved away to TN at least 20 years ago. Her teenage son is a travel baseball player (side note – DANG that is an expensive way to spend the summer)
Anyway – RuSan’s – haven’t been to one in forever & ever. Way too big of a menu, I like the paper sheets so you can mark what you decide on – as we read thru the menu we’d forget which rolls we wanted.
It was good, not overly expensive, but of course not cheap – sushi never is.

Ru San’s in Kennesaw? They used to have an AYCE lunch at the one by Ansley Mall- not even sure it’s still there. They do a smoked mackerel that I love!!! Never seen anyone else do it like that.

Just checked- moved up to Tower Place. Still in Edgewood.

      • Barb says:

        smoked mackerel – interesting.

Yeah, there’s one at ERD which is quite literally 5 blocks from my house and I have never been there since I’ve lived here. It doesn’t cross my radar.

        • Barb says:

I’ve seen the 1 there in Kennesaw (its in the same retail center as Chicken Salad Chick where we go occasionally) but I never even really notice it. Wendi saw it & was wondering if it was the same as when we went there in the 90s.
So – what the hell – we went there.

It wasn’t very busy – but it was Monday night.

    • I will pass on sushi 9 out of 10 times. The one time I will eat sushi is when someone else is paying for it!

  5. Out sweating and tearing up WLF. Unfortunately I pulled out a blackberry plant I intended to keep. I’ve replanted it and hope that it will survive.

  6. Jenka says:

It was Monday so we also had sushi at Ocean Wave/Harry & Son’s. Finn crushed the salmon sushi we got him and then didn’t touch the crab. Live and learn.

I’ve got a three hour “change management” class/seminar this morning. It’s supposed to be three hours this morning and two more hours this afternoon, but I am skipping the afternoon. That’s just torture. Also today is the last day that my boss will be in the office because he is off to Germany for the next month. Guess who’s working from home three days a week for the next month and has two thumbs?!

  7. I had enough of the heat, sweating, and disappointment of WLF so I have come back inside. Also, my back is hurting me today. A shower was welcomed.

Now to see if there is anything I can’t live without on sale from Amazon.

  8. Whoa, Lance Armstrong is doing a show on Peacock? My how cancellation has changed…

Now if Peacock would return the international, aka “commercial free”, feed.

  9. Barb says:

On the plane – time for hopefully cooler weather!

  10. Barb says:

Landing early in Boston. Hope our car is ready
