As much as I hate to think about it, the useful lifespan of my beloved iPad Pro 10.5″, on which I am typing this, is coming to an end. This model of iPad stopped being targeted for operating system updates last year, and now I can barely get four hours of use before its battery plummets toward 0%. And for anyone wondering, this current iPad has virtually no value for trade in, only $60, so I’d keep it and repurpose it as a music player that is constantly plugged in using one of the increasingly obsolescent Lightning cables that I have on hand.
While there is always money in the banana stand, err, bank, for a new shiny $1000 iPad Pro 11″, Christ just typing that gives me shivers, I’m weighing all of my options. This is especially true because the same comment can be made for my aging Apple Watch, whose battery also diminishes much quicker than desired.
