When the rain finally stopped yesterday I was able to wander around WLF. I was forced to harvest four small eggplant, because the critters have eaten all of the others out there. I also harvested three small butternut squash. I’d prefer larger butternut squash, but apparently am not getting enough sunlight to grow them larger, so I will have to settle for what I have.
I’m envious of growers who don’t have to put up with the critters the way I do.

I’ve discovered that my price threshold for concerts these days is around $40, which means I doubt that I will be seeing many more concerts during the rest of my life.

I had a fun weekend in Sylva, NC with some of the other Chattahooligans. On Friday we decided to skip riding because by the time we checked in and set up camp it was 3pm, and we were all sweaty and ready for beer. Saturday’s 48 mile ride was tough but not nearly as tough as the 65 mile ride from what we heard; we were done with the shorter route before rain arrived. We weren’t so lucky yesterday, even though we opted for the 25 mile route instead of the 44 mile route, as the skies opened up during our last eight miles of riding, making it a bit of a harrowing descent on my bike with rim brakes. As you can well imagine, we also consumed a lot of beer.

I have been getting increasingly annoyed by the slowness of virtual page turning on my Kindle. Since my Kindle is over tens years old I considered buying a new one. Out of frustration I rebooted my Kindle and lo and behold, that fixed my issue!

Though optimism isn’t really one of my core characteristics, I am hoping that the rain predicted for western North Carolina this weekend doesn’t come. Whatever happens, I’ll try to make the best of the situation.

The heat finally figured out how to kill two of my pepper plants, even with my regular irrigation. And, unfortunately all of last night’s rain bypassed WLF.
I went to Brick Store Pub last night because Diatribe Brewing, a brewery I visited in Asheville, did a tap takeover there.

Yesterday I brought my golf clubs to Sanitary Not so that she can hand them over to my fake nephew to whom I promised them when I was in Raleigh.

Since the TdF is now over, and it will be another year before I whine about not getting the commercial free feed on Peacock, that pretty much leaves Premier League soccer as my only reason not to cancel Peacock. Sure, there are other shows I watch, but I could probably live without them, or find other ways to watch them.
Wordle: six, my starter was SOUPY
My driver’s license arrived in the mail yesterday, such a weight off my mind. So, unless I do something stupid, die, or move to another state, I can legally drive until 2033.

I haven’t watch the TdF in about a week, and have no plans to watch any of the remaining stages.
