The other day I backtracked a little on my Disney+ subscription cancellation. I discovered I could put my subscription on hold, essentially not having access nor getting charged, which is what I’ve chosen for the next eight weeks. By the end of July I should know where Bundesliga will be streamed next season, and can make my next move then.

Well, the time has come to admit that I won’t be in my top form for BRAG. LOL! I am sure that I will survive, and hope I that it won’t be too wet next week. Expect short blog posts, if any. I’ve had to do a packing pivot. Yesterday, while doing my final packing I realized that the roller bag that I have used the last two years was in much worse condition than I remembered. I tried to patch it up, but I feared that the bag wouldn’t survive a week of being thrown around, so I decided to take another piece of luggage which also has issues thanks to airline workers, but should be okay. Depending on how this goes I will have a year to research and purchase a bag for next year, unless of course I find myself going to Walmart somewhere in west Georgia to buy something immediately.

Have a great weekend everyone.

  1. What the what? I started listening to a podcast episode from “The Sporkful” that was released last week, only to hear that one of their stories relates to East Atlanta! The story is about a small community garden called A Sip of Paradise which I watched get constructed a handful of years ago, and never realized its purpose — it’s a garden for, and by, hospitality workers.

  2. Back from a quick Kroger run to top off the M6’s gas tank (still cost over $20 with my 3¢/gal discount), and push myself over 1000 Fuel Points for next month.

I purchased two packages of Impossible “Meat”, which after Upside rebate, Ibotta rebate, sale price, and Kroger digital coupon, were nearly free! I counterbalanced that with two packages of fancy ground beef from the farm, White Oak Pastures, at which I will be taking the sausage making workshop in August.

Got the nanny to watch Finn last night and had Date Night (TM) at Barbacoa. Today we send him off to his last day of school for the year and head up to the cabin. Awning guy comes at noon. Looking forward to a quiet weekend up there.

Have a great time at BRAG!

  4. Just did my first potato harvest of the year. Honestly it was disappointing. I harvested a grow bag, which only produced four medium-sized potatoes, and a segment of a raise bed which produced six but most of those had split. Wee Little Potato Famine is underway…

    • Also disappointing is that though they all have big, beautiful (taking that phrase back from our Idiot President) golden flowers, not all of the zucchini have been properly pollinated, so they are shriveling on the plant.

FYI, there is a used gear resale place on Highland just a bit North of Manuels.
I’m guessing they will have a decent selection of serviceable bags.

    Or Goodwill.
I routinely see nice rolling luggage at Goodwill for cheap.

    • Thanks, I was unaware of that shop. Reminds me of the shop that used to be on the westside.

Since I will want to see what I buy in person I will try all of the secondhand shops before resorting to full-price retail such at REI, Dick’s, etc.

  6. HamWithCam says:

Not that I routinely drop by local Goodwill stores.
    A lot.

  7. Barb says:

we have a pretty big, very waterproof bag that does NOT have wheels – not that you’d want to come up here for it – but – we RARELY have used it.

    • Thanks, I’m good. This bag has wheels (much needed I’ve discovered) and will be heavy, and though not waterproof, all of its contents will be encased in plastic bags.

Connie’s flight left on time around 7:15 pm last night, and another friend was coming home from Copenhagen, landed around 5:30, so I got to do a double airport run without going to the airport twice yesterday. I was asked by my friend that had a time conflict if I could do her a favor, and it wasn’t even a problem for me – do I got brownie points without doing anything special.

Good visit with my sister – but I haven’t been drinking that much, so drinking every day for a week – haven’t done that in a long time.

  9. There is going to be a lot of weeding, and hopefully a lot of harvesting in WLF when I return from BRAG. My plan to attempt sweet corn again this year has blown up as I discovered that I didn’t have any seed. My bad!

    Wordle in 3.

Took the scooter out for a check ride after its oil change. All good.

One pasture mowed, 2 to go, plus the back yard- we can almost see the puppies when they are running around in the tall grass.

I haven’t looked at next weeks’ forecast yet, but I hope it’s not too wet. Riding in the rain as well as camping in the rain is not much of a vacation. Hahahaha… I just looked at the BRAG website to see how you’re coming past here and it shows you on I-85! Nice.

and – wordle in 2 bitches!

on my computer Wordle in 2 – but- when I go to my phone to add it so I can send to my brother – its a different word – so that one took me 4.
      SO WEIRD

  12. Bob says:

I thought I would be totally packed yesterday but it did not happen. I’m off today so I’ll get it all done.
Rambled last night and was probably not the best idea. I was being careful which made me timid so I almost crashed way too many times. Plus we ran through a bunch of poison ivy, I scrubbed like hell when I got home so hopefully I won’t break out next week.
I can’t believe BRAG is upon us! I can’t wait to check out for a week and share the experience with my nephews.

  13. Barb says:

Allan dhas decided he needs a Schoolhouse tshirt – so we will make an appearance there later today & Saturday – so he can get to 6 punches for May

  14. There has been a continual forecast for rain today, but it’s still sunny at Wee Little Farm… I haven’t watered any of the plants I transplanted today because I keep thinking the forecast will be correct.

    • Decided weather forecast was going to continue to be wrong, so I just went out and used some collected rainwater to water transplants. Also got to say hello to a lovely green lizard who was posturing on the rain gauge. 🙂

  15. Steve says:

Back in from mowing the front pasture. Watched a big rain cloud never seem to get and closer, which was fine by me. If the number of bugs is any indication of the health of a pasture, I think ours is pretty good. All kinds!

  16. Well this is disconcerting. I received an email TODAY from BRAG altering me that when I went to add a shuttle ride to my BRAG registration it apparently edited my registration and never charged me for the shuttle. Today’s email was an invoice for $110, the cost of the shuttle ride. I will be spitting nails if I arrive in Columbus and am told that I cannot get on the shuttle, or that I am no longer officially registered for BRAG.

    • This now explains something that caught my eye a few months ago when I saw a spreadsheet that said I was only registered for the shuttle and had no mention of BRAG itself. At the time I went back into my email and saw my BRAG payment confirmation, so I let it drop.

    • Received confirmation from Franklin, so I *should* be alright.

I do have a serious spending/accounting issue to overcome when I return from BRAG. I am spending far too much money, and have too many credit cards to my name. Corrections ahead…

    • This snafu put quite the startle in me. I don’t like last minute disruptions, and since I thought BRAG was a solved problem six months ago, hearing it wasn’t THE DAY BEFORE IT STARTS got to me.

      • Barb says:

so – are you ALL paid -or not?
or you still owe for shuttle?
Tell Franklin you will buy him a beer if you can forget that shuttle invoice

      • Steve says:

The Brady shuttle service is available. Let me know if you have any problems tomorrow and we can work it out.

      • I paid the $110 shuttle fee, which I thought that I had already paid. Apparently when I added the shuttle to my registration it transferred $110 from my BRAG registration (how or why I am unsure). So, according to Franklin I am now paid in full and registered for the shuttle as well as BRAG. Am I certain? Not until I get on the shuttle and receive my registration items in LaFayette will I be certain. I’ve taken screenshots of my two payments, so I’ve got that going for me…

  17. Potential Big News to be announced next week. Here’s what it won’t be:
    – I’ve given up drinking alcohol
    – I’ve met the love of my life and she’s interested in me as well
    – I’ve gotten back down to my desired weight
    – I’ve gotten a job (though income would be welcome)

All will be disclosed when it can be.

    • Barb says:

#2 “could” happen, #4, you just never know, the other 2 – nope!

      • If past history is any indication of future success, #2 is veeeeeeeeeeery unlikely, especially since it seems that most women who ride bicycles (in groups?) are not single.

#4 is the most probable, especially when I see how much money I am spending each month.

  18. 2:30pm and not a drop of rain has fallen. I guess I made the correct call earlier.

  19. Jenka says:

Awning guy was quite the talker and what should have been 30 minutes was a hour and a half. But we got the order in and hopefully it will be installed before we arrive for our extended sojourn at the cabin in July.
