Another Friday the 13th!
Another Friday to score 4x Fuel Points at Kroger, and given the elevated price of gas, is significant.
Awhile back I mentioned the idea of listening to a band’s / musician’s entire catalog, of course sequentially. I’ve undertaken this with my first band, REM. As of today I’ve listened to their first three albums — “Murmur”, “Reckoning”, and “Fables of the Reconstruction”. I have to admit that Fables was never one of my favorites, but I enjoyed it for what it is. I’m about to hit the sweet spot of releases— “Life’s Rich Pageant”, “Document”, “Green”, “Out of Time”, “Automatic for the People”, “Monster” — to which I have listened ad nauseam as a late-teen / twenty-something. I can’t wait!
I also put an hour in on the trainer yesterday. Woot!
I stayed up late last night because Amazon told me that my package was out for delivery and due to be delivered between 9-10pm. At 10pm the delivery status was changed to “on or before March 16th”. I’m contemplating canceling the order.
Today I’m running a couple of morning errands, and then will spend the rest of the afternoon working in Wee Little Farm and my basement.
Wordle: four, my starter was PRIME
How is it 9:24 and no one has commented?! FIRST!
OMG, listening to the entire REM canon would be AWESOME. One of the few bands that I would definitely listen to an entire album of.
We had a bonus Date Night (TM) while Finn was on his camping trip. Because of the temperature they opted to spend the day at Sweetwater park but went back to the school to have a slumber party instead of camping outside. Kevin and I went to Barbacoa for tacos.
Tomorrow morning Finn has his first Buddy Baseball game of the season up in Buckhead. Otherwise we have no plans.
Wordle in 4.
Debbie panicked a bit yesterday when Fig was a little lethargic. If you watch “The Incredible Dr. Pol” it’s common in cows after giving birth- low calcium. She took Fig and the puppies to Auburn to be checked- all fine, no worries.
Errands while she was gone with the kids. New script provided to the eye glass folks, stopped at Hobby Lobby for upholstery supplies for the new truck, NAPA pickup and cracker backer.
Today is tractor PM!! Yippee.

Back from my morning errands. Unexpectedly came across nearly the entire set of Bond movies at Goodwill. I may have bought nine of them at $3/each. Spent “only” $52 at Kroger, my point total is nearly 300, which will get me 30¢/gal discount next month.
Crap, forgot to buy carrots. I may walk to a local Kroger to buy them. If nothing else I will get some exercise, and cool down from my Amazone tirade below.
Oh for fuck’s sake! I went ad-free for Amazon Prime Video two months ago and now they are doubling the subscription price, from $2.99/month to $5.99/month! Fuck! Them!
And Amazon’s website is having “issues”. I hope it’s overloaded from people canceling their ad free video.
Ad-free Prime Video canceled. I know they don’t give a shit, but I feel better.
I think this is my last free week of Spotify and I set a reminder to cancel it. They have a much better selection than Sirius/XM for the American Songbook that I listen to, but with the GMC and my phone, and potentially the RAM truck all on Sirius, I can’t pull that plug.
We need to go through and clean up subscriptions. I know we barely watch Apple TV, Disney, and only bike races on Peacock and HBO. Maybe I can write those off as professional training?
Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ are going next week. I will miss watching Bundesliga, but I have only so much money to go around.
There is a lot on AppleTV I want to watch still, and being a shareholder…
I will also be canceling my Audible account prior to its renewal in July.
And PM on the tractor is done. Oil change, air filter replaced, fuel filter inspected (not ready) and greased every point I could find and some I just made up! Now it’s about to get an overdue bath.
Considered buying a Wilco ticket, they are playing in LaGrange on July 9. I’m a fan, but not a $75/ticket fan, and with the huge check I will be handing over next I’m going to start cutting expenses.
Yesterday’s Amazon delivery has arrived. They’ve redeemed themselves on that front, but I’m still irked about the ad-free video price hike.
Sometimes, it’s the little things. Tractor is as now as clean as it gets (which ain’t very). At least I knocked off most of the fungus. 915 hours and still runs like a top. (I might have just shown my age… ask a kid today what a top is and they’ll point to a bottle with a screw top)
Hi! its been a crazy busy day
