It will come as no surprise to read that admittedly, I am cheap. Sure, I can say that I am a spendthrift due to lack of income for nearly 4.5 years, but truth be told I like a bargain — it comes from my father.

That being said, these days the one item on which I find myself spending more money than most people is peanut butter. I have come to enjoy peanut butters that contain only peanuts and salt, no palm oils or sugar additives for me thankyouverymuch, and I am willing to pay more for it.

Don’t forget, 4x Kroger Fuel Points today!

Wordle: four, my starter was COUPE

  1. Bob and/or Steve, what is your lunch plan for today? I’m going to attempt to get the chores which should have been done yesterday, done this morning.

  2. The weather data I had misled me to believe that there wasn’t going to be a lot of rain yesterday, so I made no attempt to capture any. Pity, I think I could have built a nice cache of water for future use.

    • Just checked rain gauge, nearly 2”! What a missed opportunity…

      • Jenka says:

Yesterday my co-worker was complaining that her weather app didn’t say it was going to rain so she wasn’t prepared. Then she goes, “it says 85% chance so I didn’t think it would rain!” WTF?! She is not the sharpest steak knife in the block.

        • I think the last time I checked mine yesterday it said that I’d receive 0.2” over the next twelve hours. This is hardly enough for me to be bothered. And no, I’m not dyslexic and read the number incorrectly. 😉

  3. Back from my Kroger run. I’m at 483 Fuel Points. I should probably return to get seventeen more points in order to save 50¢/gallon when I fill op in March.

It’s not a popular opinion but I have come to admit that I can’t stand the natural peanut butters that are super oily. Whatever shit they put into Skippy to keep it solid is fine with me. I don’t like how sweet it is but I will take it over sloppy gross oily peanut butter.

The Hawks game was awesome last night! Hawks won by 30 points. We went to Manny’s for dinner beforehand and I had the smash burger.

We have to get our taxes done this weekend so we can send them to the accountant. We also have a birthday party for Kevin’s paralegal to go to.

we went out to the Mable House Arts Center last night – a friend was asked to display some of his art. (his 1st gallery show I guess)
So – it took too long with the rain & evening commuters – then we went even further west to eat at Wallace’s BBQ. It was good, but I’m no expert on bbq – but they seem to think its the best.

  6. Well this is starting off poorly. I’ve attempted to call two roofing companies, and neither answered the phone.

Wordle in 5. My starting word was STUDY.

Met Burt in tucker for favorite Mexican. Was apparently drunk enough to try and pay with an Amazon gift card and didn’t realize I had also handed her a Tractor Supply gift card as well! And I only had 1!

Over 600 riders for tomorrow’s Homegrown Gravel and the email thin morning said it shouldn’t be “too muddy”. Riiiight.

Bob is the decider for lunch as he has the obligation at the bank.

  8. Bob says:

Rained like a mother last night so I skipped the ramble. 2 hearty souls still went out and rode. I did meet them afterwards for some Smokejack BBQ in Alpharetta, good stuff.
I am hoping the roads dry out enough to take the moto to the bank/lunch today. Pretty sure I’ll be ok with the temps rising like they are (finally).

  9. It appears that my tulip experiment is succeeding, on one of walks Betsy and I bought a bag of tulip bulbs from a neighbor who was selling them for charity. I planted twelve, and it appears that all are sprouting! 😀

I planted these bulbs in January, before the big chill, which is needed for them to sprout.

  10. Back from a good lunch, one beer at Arches (never been to their “new” location), and a stop at Value Village. I’m struggling today, my left leg and hip are inexplicably hurting. I guess that I will give myself a break from riding the trainer today.

    • Steve says:

Lovely to see you IRL for a change, as well as Bob.

Took the slightly scenic route home via the Ben Hilton. It looks as good as ever, the lawn starting to green up. The rest of the neighborhood still looks good with some remodels happening.
