I think Atlanta’s shitty traffic is ruining my sense of adventure for the city, well, that and the eternity that they are taking to finish the goddamn BeltLine. I’d rather stay at home than fight my way to go somewhere.
After whining about my plans changing, they changed again! I had the opportunity to make a casserole for an Autumnal Solstice potluck at Red’s Farm, but in the end I decided not to go. I did make the casserole, however…
A layer of tater tots, a layer of cooked ground turkey (because beef is too expensive for me) (seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder), a layer of caramelized onions (the red onions I bought at Lidl), pour over a sauce made of flour, milk, heavy cream, and cream cheese, a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, topped with a layer of crushed Ritz (I used Town House) crackers and shredded Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, then lower the temperature to 325°F for 30 minutes. Allow to cool for fifteen minutes. Eat! It was a little weird, but really tasty.
Wordle: two, my starter was CRASH
What time does this place open, anyway?

This place open? I’m lost.
This place.
This here Blog.
I mean, if I’m going to be first, I need to know. 🙂

I figured that was what you meant……
I sorta did too, but wanted clarification.
Today I opened the doors at about 4:45am.
Wordle in 4. A deuce with only one letter is impressive.
The battle of the trailer continued last night. After tinkering with the gas valve, I finally realized the reason the stove nor HWH was working was there wasn’t any gas in the bottles! Well, duh. I thought we had filled them and perhaps left something running? Still have to solve the fridge issue.
Went to book a site at the campground and found it was full up for Games weekend. Have already called in a favor from our park contact.
Retirement lunch at Fado’- I’m hoping for a properly poured Guinness.

Thanks, lucky educated guess.
But you’re working, you can’t drink beer! Hahaha! Enjoy your lunch.
what? a campground has no open sites on a busy fall weekend?
every once in a while, you get lucky with a last minute cancelation – but usually everything is booked up months in advance.
Hope you get a site.
No gas…… that’s funny, not funny.
I thought it was pretty funny. And I didn’t have ANY problem booking a reservation from the Friday the week before to the Friday just before the Games- just Games weekend
watched the Charlie Sheen documentary on Netflix last night – dang that guy was a train wreck – hope he manages to stay sober now (we will see……)
Didn’t realize he’s just a month or so younger than us Paulie.
Besides that – boring day……….
I didn’t realize how close in age we are either.
Heard good things about that documentary, but not being a Netflix subscriber…
I want to tell you all about a fantastic British TV I’m watching, but it’s on BritBox and I’d gather that I’m the only one here who subscribes to that service.
tell us anyway – you never know, someday I might change up my subscriptions
It’s called “The Change”.
wordle in 5 – I did not have Paulie’s educated guess
That casserole sounds yummy (although better with beef) but that would be my caloric intake for the entire day. Yikes.
Well hallelujah. Something happened automatically, and shockingly it was the GA voting system. Yesterday I got my voter registration card and they had automatically updated my name. I even logged in this morning to make sure it was real. Wow!
so, GA can update your voter information correctly (well, we think, since you haven’t attempted to vote yet), but Delta can’t get your name right.
Yeah, I am shocked. The only hitch is that the voter registration kept my middle name, even though when I updated my driver’s license I took the middle name out. So I submitted an update request to the voter registration system and we’ll see what happens. I don’t want to get turned away from the polls because the names don’t absolutely match.
well – you are a white woman – so they would probably still let you vote. (I know that’s a very sad thing that I think that way)
It’s the truth, though. Although they probably wouldn’t let me if I were a registered Democrat, which I am not.
You are a Republican? I always knew there was something a little wrong with you. 😛
Hahahahah! There’s a lot wrong with me, but luckily that ain’t one of ’em.
Well I didn’t eat the whole thing… A casserole like that you don’t eat all at once!
I received my voter id card too. Since I’ve not changed my name once in my sixty years it was no surprise that my name was correct. 🙂
Just got done with a five mile walk. Treated myself to the two ripe figs which were on one of my small trees. 🙂
Holy shit, just received my CoA water bill, $129. I can’t continue to water WLF like I’ve done this summer, it’s too damn expensive.
Looking at my bill it seems that sewer charges are a much larger portion of the bill. I will have to research this.
The city doesn’t know you’re not sending all that water to be treated. All the big time farmers have a separate meter for irrigation.
Yeah, I just learned that. Oh well, it’s only money, right?
And this is more motivation to improve my rain catching game…
now I need to look up my water bill – its usually less than $50
Mine was $88 for the previous two months, it averages $50 or so when I’m not watering WLF.
I went for the Irish breakfast at lunch… quite tasty. Not sure how much longer the place will be open- we four were the only ones having lunch from noon to 1:30- maybe one or two other singles.
I assume they do a lot of business at night, and on weekend mornings when soccer is being played.
They also draw a big crowd for F1 races, it’s one of the main places in ATL to watch.
Was out turning small branches into woodchips. My across the street neighbor has a pile of sticks, so I started raiding it… when he came home. Busted! I smiled and said “Hope you don’t mind me raiding your wood pile”, to which he replied smiling “Have at it!”. Whew, that was a close one. 😀
“There’s that weirdo across the street neighbor raiding our wood pile. Again.”
yep! he said that when he got inside.
Paulie – you ought to get to know him, and he could watch for a package when you might not be home.
Yep, I’m the neighborhood weirdo. 🙂
