After two meals containing nothing from Wee Little Farm, dinner had to be different. Dinner last night was a tomato sandwich, eaten with a warm potato salad; the tomato, potatoes, and jalapeño pepper were all from WLF.
Even though it wasn’t a Monday, I watched a movie last night. I watched Sustainable, which as you would probably guess, is about farming.
When did “utilize” become the word that everyone says when they mean “use”?
Wordle: three, my starter was SHRED
Hey- I’m 1st!
Finally had a lobster roll yesterday- from a little tiny hut on a corner that is said to be the best in Maine. Red’s Eats. It was very tasty, just a whole lot of lobster, a little bit of bread & some drawn butter. Had to stand in line to order from a little window.
When we got back to the hotel, we just hung out on our balcony watching the boats & people.
Today we head to Monhegan Island, it’s 1.5 hour ride, 12 miles out. Supposedly a great place to visit.
That lobster rolls sounds pretty authentic! Hope you liked it. Looking forward to pics of Monhegan Island!
Wordle in 4.
In yesterdays storms, we must have taken a direct hit of lightning, as we were the only ones to lose power. We drove to Auburn for dinner and Buc-ee’s and upon return, still had no power, though GPC was on scene. Debbie heard a big “boom” shortly thereafter and the guy left.
We attempted to fire up the trailer. Generators came online, AC started blowing cold air, we wrangled the dogs over, got into bed and all devices stopped- no lights or AC. Reset all breakers (generators never stopped) and we’re back. Lost everything again and could never get it back. Collected the dogs and returned to a very warm house.
GPC returned and had power back about 01:30. There will be some YouTube watching today as I try to diagnose the trailer issues.

Sounds like a fun evening Steve.
Trailers are always a learning experience, figure out 1 thing, then something else happens to baffle you
Bummer. We are so accustomed to having electricity it’s a pain when we don’t.
Once again traded a bike ride for WLF work. I’ve been really productive so far, doing a lot of crop/land cleanup.
Um, like decades ago people started using “utilize” in order to sound smart? I remember making fun of people in college, and that was in the 90s. You are out of touch! 🙂
Quiet day working from home yesterday and I made baked chicken with roasted cauliflower for dinner and watched baseball. I’m in the office today because I have a meeting, but next week I will be remote Monday, Wed, and Friday. This morning I got an email from my boss and it’s the first one in three days!
I didn’t say that it was recent, I just wondered when it started, #intouch
Loaded up on the boat- 1.5 hr sail to the island.
Let’s hope I don’t feel seasick.
And maybe we will see some whales???
Boat only going at 11-12 knots, not too super breezy on the top deck.
It’s not too cold, I have a long sleeved shirt & a windbreaker.
A few swells but water isnt too choppy.
Oh yeh – Wordle in 3!!
Barb just couldn’t let me win one day. hahaha
Greetings from Denver. It’s such a chill city. I’ve been working an accounting professor conference that wraps up today. Headed south this afternoon for a night at Great Sand Dune National Park, then north tomorrow to Aspen for a night, then back to Denver. Flying back to Atlanta Monday afternoon after I do another work thing. My son and I rented e-bikes and rode 11 miles on the Cherry Creek Trail. The level of protected bike lanes that Denver has is bonkers. That flagship REI store is also incredibly over the top.
Colorado had so much to do.
I’ve never been to The Sand Dunes park. Someday.
Very cool. The only time I’ve spent in Denver is passing through or working a bike race. Have a great time!!
Yeah, the only time I’ve been in Denver was for a work conference and I never left the hotel.
Been to Colorado a few times, sometimes for work, sometimes for pleasure. I think I’ve been to Great Sand Dune, but can’t recall if the one I photographed was in Colorado or Arizona.
Yep, I’ve been there!
Enough damage to WLF and myself for one morning. Lunch time soon.
More tomato plants which have passed their prime were cut, weed whacking done to portion of WLF not currently growing food, peppers, beets, and some carrots harvested.
Though it took much longer to bake last night than the recipe stated, I just ate a delicious slice of “zucchini” bread for which I substituted grated yellow squash for the zucchini.
Hmmm. Maybe I’ll make a zucchini bread this weekend.
Hummingbird feeder still leaking, now in trash. Hummingbirds will have to feed elsewhere until new feeder arrives next week.
Monhegan Island was very cool.
Biking trails were TOUGH.
Took a wrong turn, which was a good thing, we’d have never made it around the island.
Found the lighthouse, found the brewery.
Had to bring our food with us to eat on the boat.
2:45 came quick to make the return trip.
I think I’d do this trip again, I want to hike the rest of the island.
.
Biking – I meant hiking- and it was not a bike able trail so
I was going to drive to a brewery today, but have gotten lazy. The thought was also a little less desirable since my drinking buddies are out of town. Hank is out of town, and is moving to Colorado in two weeks.
