While working in Wee Little Farm yesterday I discovered that at least three of my paw paw trees are not dead, and currently sport little leaves! I’m not sure if the other two will spring back to life, but time will tell. I also planted a new fig tree into the ground, which will probably produce fruit, if it survives, in five years. I wonder if I will be around (in all senses of that phrase) to reap the fruits of my labor someday.

Wordle: four, my starter was GRAPE. I’m really tired of Wordle being Swordle this year. In the past week alone (excluding today) five of the seven answers have begun with an S.

  1. As we get nearer to Spring Tune Up my weight is going in the wrong direction. It’s gotten so out of control that I am not bringing any beer to tonight’s bike ride.

not my day for Wordle – took me 5

Carbonara was only ok – cooked the guanciale (pork) too much – so it a little well done.
but – someday we will perfect this dish.

Started watching Young Sherlock on Prime – its an interesting take on a classic character (by Guy Ritchie)

Wordle in 3 from only a single letter in the wrong spot.

Minor surgery on the tractor yesterday. Would run fine until it would bog down and stall completely, then start right back up. Fuel filter replaced the other week, but this was the same only more so. Emptied the tank, then blew compressed air back through the feed line. Probably got whatever was slowing fuel delivery out of the way. We shall see.

Today we celebrate 20 years of wedded bliss. Not always blissful but never boring. Most always fun. I love you, sweetie.

  4. Another tree on my street is having limbs removed. I don’t think the crew is large enough to take down the entire tree, at least I hope it’s not. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the insurance industry is getting kickbacks from the tree and roofing industries for all of the work that they mandate.

    • Could’ve very wrong by about the fate of the tree, the cutting man is very high up in it. Pity, it looks like a very healthy tree, the type we humans need to provide oxygen and living spaces for other creatures.

they only need a few guys if they know what they are doing.
Doesn’t the city make you get permission to cut down trees?

on a different note – last night on our walk – a house nearby took out ALL the trees, brush, bamboo, grass etc. around it. It looks so weird. Not sure what their landscaping plan is. (now, getting rid of the bamboo makes sense, but the rest? )

        • Yes, CoA requires permits for tree removal. But, as you well know, that doesn’t stop people from doing it illegally.

On my short block alone, in the past four months two houses have put on new roofs, and three have had tree work done. I don’t think that this is coincidence.

Sushi as usual for the first time in three weeks because I went to the Hawks game two Mondays in a row. Totally spaced the March Madness championship game last night, but I didn’t really care about the teams. Red Sox lost again, THAT I care about.

  6. Interesting, Franklin has updated Friday’s long route, shaving off almost seven miles and 400 ft of elevation change.

  7. Phase 0 of outdoor pizza oven is complete. I might have to make a pizza dough this week and give it a go on Friday.

  8. Barb says:

HVAC check up is done – technician told me our house is too humid (I don’t feel it or think it is – but the percentages don’t lie) – we need to use a dehumidifier more in the basement.
I told him to have someone email or text me the info we need.

  9. More chainsawing; I’m back to thinking the entire tree will be removed.

  10. Barb says:

got a little 2.5 mile walk in – it is very nice outside
