It came down to a nearly 50/50 chance in Wordle this morning, and I failed. What sucks worse is that my other choice was the solution.

did you go ride? How was it?
I did, but almost didn’t. When I went into the basement to fetch my bike I discovered that the front tire had gone flat. You may recall the “fun” I had on Saturday, replacing that tire’s tube twice before riding with you. Turns out, the tube I used for riding on Saturday was old and patched, clearly not well enough to make it hold air for more than a day.
Another tube has been put into the front tire, time will tell.
And I know this wasn’t the fault of the tire, as in it didn’t contain any sharp object which punctured the tube, because it’s a brand new tire out of the packaging.
We rode 19 miles, at about a 16mph pace.
If I lose my streak of closing stand rings on my Apple Watch it will be because this update it taking foooooooooorever. I started the watch update two hours ago, and the current prediction is that it will be done in four more hours. Holy shit this better work the first time!
The only area where I don’t use Apple is my Fitbit, because I don’t want or need most of the capabilities of the Apple watch. And also, having to charge it every day would be so annoying. I charge my Fitbit once a week and it tracks my steps and my sleep and tells me when I get a text message. Unfortunately it seems that Google is phasing out the Fitbit because they definitely aren’t bothering to support the app, it barely syncs.
I don’t understand why people think charging the watch every day is annoying. Before I go to sleep I put it on its charger, and when I wake up it’s charged. I do this with my iPhone as well.
Not needing the capabilities of the Apple Watch I completely understand. I don’t think I need them either, especially since I switched back to using Google Maps for navigation, but I own one anyway, probably because I am a shareholder.
50% of the reason for having it is to track my sleep, and the other 50% is to track my steps. So I need it to be working both night and day.
I don’t have an Apple watch – because the Suunto watch I was gifted still works. I just want a watch that can tell me steps (which is not accurate – as moving my arms sometimes gets me steps) & tell me how far I walk when I go out for a walk. I like the map I get from the app. Once this watch dies, I’ll probably get an Apple watch. But – I really don’t want texts/emails/etc on my wrist.
It’s remarkably handy when your phone buzzes and you can just glance at your watch and see what it is. I don’t NEED it, but it’s handy. (get it? Handy?! LOL)
Wordle in 4. I see how that could go poorly. Sorry.
Some quality time on the tractor, mowing the front pasture. Might be having an issue with the tractor. Swapped out the fuel filter, which is normally the culprit, but the old one looked OK. Time will tell.
The promoters web site for this weekend is down, so I can’t pull the map to pre-ride the course. I’ve let them know.
Made a pretty good pizza for dinner last night.

It is what it is.
Good luck with getting the map.
Pizza? Yum! Yesterday I finished the pie I made Monday night, already looking forward to my next effort.
we made a mexican pizza last night – I had some hamburger meat I decided to season with taco seasoning – but wasn’t really in the mood for tacos.
we had a tube of pizza crust I had bought for some other recipe that never happened.
Used a base of refried beans, then taco meat, then mexican cheese & bake. Topped it with some shredded lettuce, tomatoes & crumbled up Dorritos.
It was pretty tasty.
Sounds interesting and tasty.
OMG, that sounds so good.
That sounds pretty good. What is this “tube of pizza crust” you speak of? Pillsbury?
I know of no other. My beef with Pillsbury dough, other than the price, is that they all taste the same to me whether you are making pizza, biscuits, or crescent rolls.
it was Kroger brand – but yes – you are correct. I don’t remember what I was going to make with it (it wasn’t pizza) but I never used it.
Growing up in Iowa – Happy Joe’s pizza had a taco pizza we all loved. You can’t go wrong putting crumbled up nacho cheese Doritos on the top.
Next time I think I’ll try it with a tortilla as a base
This morning I cooked a pound of (remarkably fatty) bacon, and then with the oven heated by that baked a (small) loaf of bread.
I guess I am the only one not eating pizza this week. Through no fault of my own, I love pizza. Paulie, I agree that Pillsbury all tastes the same, which is why I will just use whatever tube I have in the fridge for whatever I’m baking. It’s interchangeable.
Crazy day today, I am all over the place moving the dean from one thing to another.
Here is some incorrect, selective reading I’ve just done…
My old buddy Sother now lives in Manhattan, has a podcast called “Sauced”, and has worked for a bar in the Overthrow Hospitality group. The latter sent out an email and I was curious and excited that this was going to happen in East Atlanta Village:
except that’s it’s not, it’s happening in the East Village of Manhattan. I also wondered if the Ladybird mentioned in the email was a second location of Ladybird on The Beltline about which I had yet to hear open in EAV.
HAHAHAHAH! I read that fast and thought to myself, “Ladybird isn’t in EAV, what idiots.”
Ladybird is opening a 2nd location?
No, I made the assumption based on thinking the email was about East Atlanta Village, and not East Village Manhattan.
I remember Sother. Didn’t we throw darts with him on occasion?
That’s the guy. He also worked on “Good Eats” and was the reason I was a recipe tester for Alton Brown’s first cookbook. Atlanta didn’t suit him, so he moved to New Orleans for awhile, and then eventually up to Manhattan.
I just cut into the loaf of bread I baked this morning. If I can replicate this constantly I will be a very happy, and perhaps fat, man.
Just harvested lettuce for tonight’s salad. Woot!
Forgot that things inside “Dollar” Tree can now cost much more than $1 (or $1.25). I thought the roll of blue painters tape was going to be a bargain, until I noticed later that it was $5. Ouch, but I want it, and it would be inconvenient to return it.
really? at Dollar Tree? Now Dollar General or Family Dollar – that makes sense.
Painters tape I’m pretty sure is more than $5 – you still got a deal
