I’ve previously mentioned that I am starting a project to be called “In Others’ Words” which will consist of words found in books/letters/postcards and photos of the items which contains the words. The other day I picked a book from my shelving and discovered it contained an index card with the following:
6/19 Winter Park
20 Universal
21 Gaylord
22 Mt. Dora
23 get to Tampa
24 Tampa
25 Tampa
26 leave Tampa
This tickled me given that it referenced areas of Florida through which I recently driven.
Wordle: three, my starter was ENTRY
Good day for indoor choring in Atlanta. Glad I accomplished some outdoor choring yesterday, sort of wish I had canceled my CHaRM appointment for this morning.
Wordle in 4.
My appointment to take the truck in may get rained out. I think I’ll reschedule for next week.
The new TV is installed without a hitch. Looks good.
30 minutes on the trainer watching the last episode of “The Residence”. Quirky but entertaining.
-FP
I enjoyed the Residence – I hope they come out with a season 2
The Google says that there will not be a season 2 after Netflix cancelled it. It’s too bad because I love Uzo Aduba.
Sounds too much like the series “The Change” I was watching on BritBox. The creator had a three-season series in mind, but the show was abruptly canceled after two seasons. This was very dissatisfying for me.
And now the body shop is offering a ride home, so away we go!
It rained the hardest during my arduous commute from my front door to my car, so I got pretty wet. But it’s only like 20 feet.
Kevin and Finn were getting their hairs cut at a hair cuttery in Inman Park so we went to Pure for dinner afterwards. Then home for an episode of TAR.
Going to the Hawks game tonight!
Back from my CHaRM appointment, where I got damp dumping out recycling. I’m not saving the planet, but at least I’m ridding myself of things which I don’t need or want.
Curling was fun last night – they are looking for more people to learn & join their leagues – if anyone is interested.
The rink is in East Cobb – back behind the Kroger shopping center. I totally had no idea it was there. Its just for curling. nothing else.
the Monday night hashers (well, that’s what I call them) were very fun, and I did a whole lot better than I thought I would. I need to do more lunges & stretching if I ever thought I’d want to get into this sport. My team won our little game – and I scored all the points! Whooo hooo. Total beginners luck of course
I’ll join when a rink is built on the south side BeltLine. lol
So: never. LOL.
100%
I didn’t realize there was a dedicated curling place (rink? arena? field? Not sure what it should be called), I thought it was a hockey rink that they used for curling after hours.
I would think “rink”, but am not 100% certain. I’m shocked that there was enough interest to support it!
Bob – its a smaller building behind where the ice rink used to be (that building is now a trampoline park/building)
Since the ice for curling is different that the ice you skate on, it makes sense. Its a pretty bare bones place, but – we could drink as we played – so it was fun.
I forgot to mention: I follow someone on Instagram called Found Zine where they post notes that are found on park benches, in a book, basically any note or letter that is found randomly somewhere. It’s mildly interesting!
Mine started with dedications in books, and has spread to postcard messages.
When I get the roof done I may also have to spring for new gutters, in part due to the amount of soffit work which will also have to undertaken. Homeownership $$$… When doing this I will also come up with a new strategy for capturing rainwater for WLF because the current one, capturing gutter leaks should be nonexistent.
I have so many chores to do today, but don’t want to be bothered.
Talk to the gutter people, I’m sure they have a solution for capturing rainwater like you want to. I built a rain barrel on my last house that had the downspout go directly to the barrel and the overflow would drain out. It worked pretty well.
That is my intention. I understand the amount of water, etc pretty well so I can plan accordingly.
I don’t think it’s possible to re-do the roof without getting new gutters. They have to rip off the gutters to do the edge of the roof.
This is why I expect to have to pay for them. I believe that the current gutters could be removed and reused, but it may be “cheaper” to put new ones on.
Oh yeah, last week a house on my street sold for $700k(!). It’s a brick 4/2 with a bigger lot, but not all that different than the ITP Estate. This inspires me to renovate with an eye toward selling. I haven’t liked the way Atlanta has changed, and am tired of complaining about property taxes and the ineptitude of government and Beltline construction.
Are they going to renovate that place or is it a tear down? Houses in Laura’s parents neighborhood are going for $600K to $700K and are getting torn down for McMansions. It’s really crazy. You may get that asking price and not have to lift a finger.
^This.
In my neighborhood teardowns are rare, additions are the norm. Teardowns and infill happen closer to the Beltline. I’m surprised by the sale price since there seems to be plenty of inventory. I believe I saw a Mercedes SUV pull into the driveway this morning, so perhaps money is no object?
From what I saw on Zillow the house is in move-in condition.
Solid night of bowling last night, I think I rolled a 550 series. Unfortunately my team had an off night and we only took one point.
Tomorrow I get to make the trek down by the airport to my credit union. However, if the weather forecast is correct I will be taking the moto for a nice ride. Added bonus, I’ll see if I can drag Steve out for a south side lunch. What do you say Steve?
Always willing to eat lunch! Hit me up.
Woo hoo!
How about you Paulie, you up for a south side lunch?
Possibly. I’ll let you know tomorrow.
Hour on the trainer completed. No a shower, and then attempt to motivate myself to knock out some indoor chores.
