I signed up for ad-free Amazon Prime Video on Friday. Though I think that it’s kinda a ripoff seeing how Prime Video was initially ad-free, and then a $3/month fee was added, there are things on Amazon I’d like to watch. Also, before my Audible renewal occurs in July I will be canceling it, “saving” me about $140/year. I have too many audiobooks already (see also: cookbooks), so as long as I can listen to the ones that I already “own”, I’ll be alright in that category.

Yesterday I considered walking to Kroger to purchase some ham and garlic for tonight’s recipe of “Red Beans and Rice”, until I recalled that there was an American Football Match for which grocery stores might be crowded. When you read this I’ve probably already come back from an early morning Kroger run. Nope, cold weather convinced me to wait until later today.

have you looked at the audiobooks that they library has on the Libby app?
Might be able to go a longer while before needing Audible again.

  2. Committing $1500 for limb removal on Wednesday. Might hold off on roof until March.

I hope the work I have authorized is enough to satisfy an insurance company. Taking the entire tree down would be, will be, very expensive.

    Weekend –
Went down to Lake Sinclair for an overnight – the garage 3 bedroom apartment is nice, it will definitely work just fine while they oversee the building of the lake house.
They need to figure out how to get rid of the old rail car – that might cost quite a few bucks.

Sunday we stopped & hiked this section of trail at the Horse Park in Conyers since it was a nice day & on the way home. Then stopped over at some friends that live in Conyers for a little visit. Got home – ordered a pizza & watched football.

Sorry Jenka – that wasn’t the game we thought (& you hoped) it might be.
Bad Bunny half time show was entertaining.

Wordle in 4 and coulda been 3.

Errands Saturday morning, followed by a scooter ride. Sunday, got in 25 on the gravel bike and felt good. Still feel it this morning. Met Meg for dinner in Tucker. Caught the Bad Bunny SB show. Seemed like it was fine, if I spoke Spanish.

Sorry (not sorry) about your Pats, Jenka.

And Paulie, are you available for lunch tomorrow?

    • I will be in the Marietta area running errands at lunch time tomorrow, so probably not for your concerns.

      • Barb says:

besides BoGo beer – why are you coming up this way?
(Allan has a class, unless its later afternoon, he will not be around to drink with you)
I can most likely do lunch, but closer to 1pm is better for me usually.

        • BOGO beer at Schoolhouse, also see about getting a mug assigned to me, and claim my February four-pack. I also want to get a haircut, look at Ollie’s for something, and probably stop into a couple of Goodwill stores looking for DVDs.

I’m starting my morning at the Waschsalon in midtown, so I will be one-third of the way there after that.

I will touch base tomorrow to see about lunch.

Uuuuugh. That sucked. What a crappy game. Bad Bunny was entertaining. I made pigs-in-blankets and a recipe called antipasto bites where you start with a layer of croissant dough, then ham, salami, pepperoni, and Swiss cheese in layers, then another layer of croissant dough and bake it up. Very tasty, probably 8 million calories.

Yesterday was a long day for me, we took Finn to a birthday party at a Mellow Mushroom OTP, then the Super Bowl didn’t end until 10:30. I am tired today.

  7. I watched none of the game, commercials, nor halftime show. I didn’t feel as if I missed out on anything. The next Super Bowl that I will commit to watching is when the NY Jets play in it, so not in my remaining lifetime.

    • Steve says:

Ha! I mighta just laughed out loud.

    • Barb says:

since you hate commercials – and really – you will see them all again & again & again for the next few months – they aren’t hard to find. (if you really cared)

Bad Bunny show – I just watched trying to figure out the symbolism – because honestly – even when “whoever” is singing in English – I half the time have no idea what they are saying. I thought it was a very cool 13 minute show.

      • Jenka says:

The Dunkins commercial was super funny. And I’m with you on the symbolism, I miss most of it no matter what language it is. Then the next day the press is all, “So-and-so shocked the world with astonishing announcement” and I missed it completely.

Apparently the wedding couple featured on the show actually did get married on the field.

    • Jenka says:

HAHAHAH! I also laughed. I looked it up, the last time the Jets went to a Super Bowl was 1969. I was not born until 6 years after that, I wonder if I will ever see the Jets in a Super Bowl?

  8. Batch of bread & butter pickles have been made.

Red beans and rice are underway. It took me bout 45 minutes to prepare vegetables and meat in order to get where I am now, first two-hour stage of cooking. Pot of food should be ready in four hours or so.

    • The red beans will also be interesting to eat since the only onion I had in the house was rotting, discovered only after I cut it in half, so I used a bag of frozen onion and bell peppers I had in the freezer. I had already diced a raw red bell pepper, so the amount of peppers in the pot is much higher than specified in the recipe.

  9. Barb says:

ran to Aldi to get out of the house (& we needed milk) – dang its nice out.

and – got 50% off tilapia – we will be making some fish tacos this week.
