Spent the majority of my day waiting yesterday. Waiting for traffic to subside so that I could leave the house. Waiting for hours for the delivery men to show up to Chip’s three minutes before their delivery window closed. Waiting as I wound my way around Atlanta due to incredibly shitty traffic last night.
Wordle: four, my starter was RIFLE. Today’s solution was in my stater list, so perhaps I won’t abandon it…
I can always tell when traffic is fucked up by the number of cars that barrel down my street. In the past five minutes I’ve counted seven cars.
Since the corporate world decided everyone needed to go back to working in the office – traffic on Thursdays I think is the worst day.
and – I can always tell when I-75 is screwed – as Powers Ferry becomes way more crowded.
I just think there are too many people driving, many of whom are incompetent or think that they are playing a driving simulation video game with no real consequences for their actions.
HAHAHAHAH! Kevin and I call it “Thursday traffic” because for some reason on Thursdays people drive like total assholes. I mean, it’s completely noticeable how much more fucked up traffic is on Thursdays.
Wordle in 3.
After the Medicare annual visit to the doctor. “Still breathing? Good. Keep it up.” I came home and lit the burn pile. It’s over by the bamboo, and there were quite a few stalks that needed to be culled, so I was able to do that and throw them on the fire. When you burn bamboo, if the trunk is intact, it will pop LOUDLY and it sounds like gunfire! Fun.
Hoping to get on the bike this afternoon.

Given the weather prediction for this afternoon I contemplated a bike ride, and the schluffed it off because I don’t want to ride in Friday afternoon traffic. I’ve become less brave when it comes to riding Atlanta’s streets, especially alone.
I’ve signed up to volunteer at Trees Atlanta, which is located on the westside Beltline, next Thursday and would ride my bike there IF THE GODDAMN SOUTHSIDE BELTLINE WAS COMPLETED AFTER BEING CLOSED FOR THREE YEARS!!!
Thank goodness it’s Friday. Although it was a pretty decent week. Last night we did not brave Thursday traffic. I made Italian sausages and a great medley of roasted veggies with olives. This weekend we’re going for mani-pedis tomorrow. Sunday Finn has a birthday party to go to way out in BFE, but fortunately it’s only 11:30-1:00 so we will be home in plenty of time for me to prepare all of the Super Bowl snacks. SUPER BOWL!
We are heading to Lake Sinclair (I think its Eatonton address) tomorrow to Randy (PantyWaste) & Liz (Butt Sucker) place. They are in the process of building a house, they built a HUGE garage with 2 or 3 bedrooms for a place to stay while the “real” lake house is being built. We’ve been trying to get down there for a while – and finally got a date that worked.
We will be back to watch the Superbowl – no plans. I remember when there were always multiple parties to go to – now I never hear about gatherings.
No one over 50 wants to be out that late on a Sunday. LOL!
Did you go to the old people gym? I am committed to doing a weight session this weekend.
we did!!! I’m going to try to get there twice a week – but traffic getting over there isn’t fun…….. I wish I could go during the day.
Then went & drank margaritas – but – at least we went!
Fending off osteoporosis is more important to me than weight these days.
My life became much less stressful when I stopped hosting Superb Owl parties, and even less so when I stopped laying Black Sheep on the same day!
My buddy Chip invited me to watch the Big Game on the new 73” tv I helped him deal with yesterday. I’m so tired of Atlanta traffic, I doubt that’s will go.
Sunday traffic won’t be bad……..
wordle in 5 – that was a weird way to get to the answer
This made me laugh…
From the Atlanta Gator Club newsletter:
“In collaboration with Pontoon Brewing—our official watch party location—we are offering ONE person the opportunity to be a brewer for a day!”
Will I try to win? Fuck no, brewing beer is hard work!
More transplants are in the ground. Today I put in shallots and Asian greens, hoping that all survive and thrive so that I’ll have more fresh produce in about a month.
