I have spent my adulthood acquiring recipes, and last week I purchased my final cookbook. If I come across an interesting cookbook for free I will consider claiming it.
When possible I will be making my Monday dinner, and hopefully one other night’s dinner, from a recipe found in a physical cookbook in my possession. Even if I were to cook recipes three times per week from my cookbooks on hand I will die before I have the opportunity to make more than 10% of the recipes at my fingertips.
Tonight’s recipe is “Skillet Cornbread Pudding with Ham & Pepper Jack” from the book “Food Networks Kitchens Making It Easy”.
Wordle: three, my starter was DRUPE
19F…
I had to look up Drupe – never heard of that word. (droop, but not drupe)
Busy weekend with friends here – great times but Sunday I was exhausted.
I don’t think it was a hangover, as I felt ok in the morning, but as the day went on I felt worse. I’m feeling ok today, so it was probably just stress & not enough sleep Friday & Saturday nights.
Drupe is the sort of word you learn when you listen to too many gardening/agriculture podcasts. 🙂
Wordle in 6!
We went utility trailer shopping Saturday. Decided to try and find used. The Richie Bros auction is happening this week and I have a bid in on more trailer than I need, but it will work.
20 miles Saturday afternoon in summer kit. Totally awesome!
Did I mention Friday that the county cruised by, giving my run in shed the evil eye? I don’t know if I need a permit, but I will be calling.
Borrowed a friends trailer and will be off to Wedowee AL for roof steel shortly.

How did they know?
I agree, is it right next to the road?
Right on the road and we have an asshole neighbor, apparently. Remember when we cleared the trees and filled his pond with run off mud? Same guy.
Ah, makes sense.
Asshole neighbors are THE WORST.
Shared with Barb yesterday, and now with the rest of you, that my dinner last night was a Barbsagna, made from store-bought ravioli, sauce, ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella. It was quite tasty, and I still have three more portions to eat.
And in addition to dinner, I’ve already baked a beer quickbread, and am in the process of testing an English muffin recipe. With these frigid temperatures I’m happy to make it an indoor choring day.
Barbsagna = and thus it shall forever be known.
YES! Under 240 square feet doesn’t need a permit!
Whew!
I made banana bread yesterday and I must have had some sort of memory lapse because I went straight for my trusted Fanny Farmer and it turns out they do not have the recipe I have been using the past few years. So I checked my browser bookmarks and there it was. It came out a little dense but I like it that way!
Saturday we went to General Muir for lunch and did some errands, then we sat on the couch and watched movies until bedtime. Sunday we watched the Patriots get crushed by the Bills and I made pigs-in-blankets and the aforementioned banana bread.
we found some frozen pigs-in-blankets at Kroger – they were not as good as making yourself, but were edible.
and I thought about you Jenka as we watched that game – it was good (for us, as we didn’t care about the outcome) but I know you’d be hating it.
I did. I really, really hated it.
Both my favorite Bundesliga and NFL teams lost big yesterday. But as I expected nothing better from either I avoided watching their games.
OH! I forgot to tell you all: Friday night at dinner I totally got Whammed! Two years in a row I completely escaped it and now I’m out on Dec 12. Wer wer.
