I forgot to mention yesterday that on Sunday night I had a dream in which I was speaking German, well, trying to speak German. In my dream I spoke better than I normally do, which is weird since how could I possible form better sentences in my dream? I don’t want to give the impression that I was anywhere near fluent, because I distinctly remember telling the woman to whom I was speaking that I understood German grammar, but my vocabulary was limited.

  1. It’s Election Day folks. Unfortunately I couldn’t vote out a seated president, but I did make my voice heard regarding candidates running for seats in the Georgia Public Service Commission.

If you feel informed, I highly recommend you get out and cast your vote.

    Informed?!

Ha! What’s that got to do with voting?

    (I voted….)

Wordle FAIL! Streak of 226 down the tubes.

A quiet flight home with no issues with TSA or flight. Both up and back, I got called out because I’m Pre Check in the normal line with un-Pre Check Debbie. Tru love.

Catching up on chores today and a ride on 2 wheels of some type.

With my name change BS I lost TSA Pre-Check and Global Entry and I can’t get them back while the government is shut down. The last time we flew we had to go through regular security but they gave Kevin like a laminated paper that said “TSA Pre-Check” on it. Twoo wuv!

      • Steve says:

While I never got sight of the Pre-check line in ATL, the difference in PIT was 4 minutes.

They also have a couple incline trains there and it was something we thought about riding- only Saturday they had an issue and had to rescue about 30 folks from the 2 cars. Oops.

        • Jenka says:

Last summer I was at the Denver airport flying home from a work conference with a colleague who did not have pre-check. She went through regular security but pre-check was all the way across the airport and through some convoluted lines. She got through in HALF the time I did!

I voted this morning, dragged Kevin out of bed to vote too, so that he could catch a ride with me. Atlanta City Council had a few seats to vote on, too, as well as mayor.

My bestie Sarah has had season tickets to the Hawks the past three years (three seats) and I am her most frequent sidekick for those. She didn’t want to spend the money this year so I offered to buy in for one third. Tonight is our first game! Truthfully this week is so busy for me that I would rather not go, but it’s the first game and she’s so excited.

  5. Home from laundry and Publix. I also need to go to Aldi and Kroger but not sure if I have the will to accomplish that today.

    • Barb says:

I’m just curious – why do you need to go to 3 grocery stores? I get Aldi plus another, but why both Publix & Kroger?

      • Publix for BOGOs, and a cheese I plan to have this weekend paired with a beer I bought this week.

Aldi originally was to buy staples cheaper than Kroger, and to return an item which molded in its packaging four months prior to its expiration date. The item is a package of cheese ravioli and I think the plastic sprung a leak, thus allowing mold to form. In the end I scrapped Aldi today, and bought everything I needed from Kroger. And if I hadn’t needed all of this stuff by Friday, I would have checked for a 4x Fuel Points coupon and waited to buy it all on Friday.

I snagged floor seats next to the sound booth for Paul McCartney last night. What. A. Show.

    • I’m sure it was a great show. I’m so out of touch that I had no idea he was touring in Atlanta last night.

    • Jenka says:

My co-worker went Sunday night. He showed up for our meeting Monday morning looking really ragged, but he said it was a great show.

      • Steve says:

Is it sacrilegious to say I’m not a fan of McCartney? Beatles music- great, wonderful. Anything since, meh.

        • I’d say that I like about 10% of McCartney’s post-Beatles work.

        • Barb says:

Steve – come on – Wings was a way for him to make plenty of money! (but I liked the cheesy 80s music, so of course I like Wings)

        • David says:

I was really on the fence about going, and even yesterday wasn’t sure. Then mid-morning Ticketmaster opened up a few dozen seats next to the sound booth for less than $200 each. I knew to look for these, they often open up last minute seats like that. I’ve been an on-again/off-again McCartney fan over the years, but the man earned his money last night, that’s for sure.

  7. Barb says:

way too busy today work wise – 3 days off & its all craziness today

  8. Trying to decide if exercise should come in the form of a walk, or WLF choring, given that the weather is amazing.

    New Orleans update –
I know I’m too old for Bourbon Street – its way too crowded.
Besides Fat Tuesdays for some slushie drinks, we really didn’t go into many places on Bourbon.
Some of the other smaller bars around the French Quarter were fun.
The Marriott handled the hashers pretty well, but I’d guess our group wasn’t much different than any other group in that city.

InterAm over all was fun, I think there is no way to do this type of event economically anymore. Our $269 rego fee didn’t get us much. I’d assume all the money goes to the hotel catering & insurance. We had a good meal Saturday night, Friday night was ok, and Sunday afternoon final goodbye gathering was just chips & salsa – and that ran out quickly. No breakfast provided at all, & the snacks for the trails were what you’d expect – snacks.
Beer selection wasn’t exciting, but that is to be expected. No wine, and the vodka/seltzer drinks weren’t something I’d ever purchase.
But that being said – we had a good time seeing old friends.
I am very afraid to look at my credit card app to see what we spent.

  10. 3.25 mile walk done. Not long enough, nor vigorous enough, but better than nothing.
