This website’s speed, or more accurately lack thereof, has pissed me off. After trying many times I am able to post this, which will be my last post of the week, and if things don’t improve significantly next week, may be last post ever.

I know nothing about web design or anything else like that. My only thought is all the archives on the right side- could they be taking up space on the site, which is causing it to not load?
We’re taking the LQ trailer out to Stone Mountain in a couple weeks for an actual shake down test. Our 1 night shortly after we bought it wasn’t a real test. And I’m planning for it to be my home during Games setup week.
16 miles last night and it was warmer than I expected.

Been a frustrating morning:
– Blog issues.
– Couldn’t buy beer because it was 7:35am and apparently stores can’t sell until 8:00am.
– Nearly got in a car wreck coming home because some person decided to make a blind right on red as I was proceeding through the intersection.
The world keeps spinning, but my blood pressure is elevated.
Not sure why you need to make a beer run at 0730, but you be you.
I’ve noticed a bit more crazy driving lately and I’d say about 50% have Texas plates!?!?
Why shouldn’t I buy beer at 7:30am, the store is open!
Should I not be allowed to buy bread before 8:00am, it contains nearly all of the same ingredients. This is the exact same argument I made when I was asked why I needed to be able to buy beer on Sundays.
I am with Paulie on this one. What does it matter what time it is?
OMFG. Traffic was BONKERS this morning. Kevin has a theory that everyone drives like a whackadoo on Thursdays and if you actually pay attention is turns out to be true. What is it about Thursdays?!
My near incident occurred by Burgess Peterson Elementary, which was in school zone gridlock as well. After waiting two traffic light cycles I finally had the green light to Corning west on Glenwood Avenue and was driving cautiously through the intersection when the person made the blind right on red.
So we had tickets to Howard Jones at Symphony Hall last night. Show started at 7:00 but there was an opener (Haircut 100? Never heard of ’em). I couldn’t get out of work early so we didn’t make it to Colony Square for our dinner reservation until 6:00. We get to Saints + Council and they tell us they actually had a restaurant buy-out; why was I able to make a reservation then?! So we pivoted to H&F and had a delightful meal at the bar. Then we get to Symphony Hall and find out that there are TWO openers and that Howard Jones wasn’t actually going to be onstage until 9:00 pm. Which we all know really means like 9:30. We had already bought drinks by that point so we sat in the lobby lounge and people watched and then Lyfted to Wisteria for more drinks. We had the babysitter and didn’t want to go straight home. I specifically checked the event page earlier in the day to see about the opening band and it was incredibly vague, which is annoying. But I will secretly admit that I didn’t mind not seeing Howard Jones and getting home early. 🙂
Related: the people watching was optimal.
Of course you’ve never heard of Haircut 100, you are too young! 😀
I haven’t heard of either of them, but that doesn’t surprise me. Glad the blog is fixed!
Well, to Dreamhost’s credit, they may have identified the problem and instructed me how to solve it. Apparently this website was getting hammered by Google subdomains, nearly 108,000 hits this morning alone. Not sure how or why I am targeted, but I am/was.
May have spoken too soon…
It’s because you’re so popular! 🙂
Lol
I had a lovely evening last night, the band James played at the Masquerade. No opening act, they came on stage and then played their Laid album all the way through. Given that’s one of my absolute favorite albums, it was a spiritual experience. They took a 20 minute break and then came back and played a bunch more.
Nice.
busy day – work is way too busy- but I’m done now – need to get ready for the rest of the family, etc.
