Didn’t have the best of days yesterday. My back hurt (and still does) and I tweaked my right knee on last night’s bike ride, forcing me to drop from the group and slow roll back to Meltons.

I hemmed and hawed about a pair of cycling shoes which had a $15 “Amazon Prime Days” promotion, and when I went back, the discount was gone; I can wait…

Wordle: five, my starter was REPLY. The solution was another from my list, Dangen!

  1. It may sound weird coming from someone who doesn’t hold a job, but I think that I am going to give myself a break and relax today. I’ll putter around the house, head to Kroger at some time, and go to Betsy’s for dinner.

    • Also, keeping the TdF on mute for now, because of the numerous commercial breaks. Hell, I might turn it off and come back when the big hitters start their individual time trial today.

  3. As it appears that the threat of rain will most likely only remain a threat, I’m once again giving WLF a little watering. I’ve started later than I liked, but it was a last minute decision. I did see a hummingbird buzzing around, so there’s that!

    Wordle in 5.

A long day yesterday, but I think the “fire” in Miami is out. Hopefully testing will complete and the vendor can get to work.

Coming in this morning, I was 5 seconds or so too quick. By the time I realized that traffic wasn’t just slowing but at a complete standstill, I had passed the point of getting off. I even considered doing some 4 wheeling, but the grass was too high for the Mazda. That 5 seconds cost me a half hour, but I did get to see a pretty cool truck had spilled its guts all over I-85. It may still be spread across the road.

  5. In an attempt to get my Apple Watch to stop asking me for location permission, I’ve unpaired and re-paired if to my iPhone. I don’t think that helped…

  6. Hummingbird checked out my empty feeder and left disappointed. I just filled it with sugar water, hoping that it will give my feeder another chance today.

I have officially switched over to iced coffee because of the heat. It is very refreshing.

My boss is off to Germany for the rest of the month! I have one project I need to get done and now I have the uninterrupted time to pay attention to it.

Glad to see Barb and Allan in Portsmouth, NH yesterday! Such a cute town.

  8. Seems as if Kroger has announced that it’s closing a lot of stores, including four in Georgia. Surprisingly they are closing the one near Sidney Marcus, the one on Memorial Drive in Decatur, and the one on Buford Highway at Clairmont.

    • Jenka says:

I saw that, but it doesn’t really affect me. I only ever go to ERD Kroger or Murder Kroger.

      • I heard about it last night, at which time the guys said that Ghetto Kroger (south of EAV on Moreland) was closing too. I don’t see any indication of that, which makes me happy since that is the once I shop at most.

I used to shop a lot at KroBar (which no longer has a bar) in Glenwood Park, until I didn’t want to accidentally run into someone who lived nearby and shopped there. Now, it’s a royal PITA for me to drive to KroBar, so my secondary Kroger is ERD.

        • Jenka says:

Ghetto Kroger is not on the list, so I think you’re safe.

It is also a royal PITA for me to get to KroBar, I went exactly once. The traffic around that shopping plaza, and specifically Bill Kennedy Way, is fucking horrible.

        • If Ghetto Kroger closes, I think that I will become a former Kroger shopper, since that is where I often get gas as well.

          • Steve says:

Debbie has been back to Kroger lately as she believes they are cheaper than Publix. Our Kroger’s are just poorly cleaned and badly stocked compared to Publix. I’ve got to draw the line somewhere. Even the Ingles is cleaner, and that’s saying something.

    FYI: South Dekalb Mall is…deserted.

    Hi from Maine!
    Started promise, then got busy.
Breakfast at a diner that was attached to the hotel, so it was free!
Walked The Marginal Way in Ogunquit.
Now heading to Kennebunkport, check out a beach & find a lunch spot

  11. I’ve eaten way too much for lunch. Sometimes I wish that I had the common sense necessary to reduce my portion sizes.
