Geez Louise I wish that I could return to good health. I once again had to skip going to the gym this morning because on top of the crud which has infested my body for nearly a week I am suffering some other chronic health issues. I slept for all of about four hours last night (the final two of those occurring from 5:00am-7:00am).

It Was A Productive Weekend, Even If I Produced Things I Wish I Didn’t Have To Produce
It was a cold, cold weekend my friends. In fact when I left the house yesterday morning to go shopping I actually saw some minuscule snow flurries.
On Friday night after work I joined some coworkers at Taco Mac for a few beers and some food. Not feeling particularly energetic afterward I skipped the EAV Radio party at The Midway Pub and headed home.
I arose very early Saturday morning with productivity in mind. After starting a loaf of bread in my bread maker I took to knocking out some simple chores before moving onto harder ones.
I had two major goals this weekend, neither of which were accomplished completely. First, I needed to write some software documentation for work. Second, I needed to gather all of the paperwork for my 2012 Personal Income Taxes for my meeting with the tax preparer on Thursday morning.
On Saturday I did a better job of working the latter over the former, at least until I got tripped up along the way. On Saturday I found out that Evernote had a minor security breech and that they were forcing everyone to change their passwords. That wasn’t too bad, but it led me down a rathole which caused me to go through and change the passwords of about a dozen other services because 1Password identified my existing password for each as being weak. One of the services I intended to change also held one of the tax documents I needed to retrieve. I visit this website about once a year (around tax time) and because of this could decipher the cryptic notes I stored for that site in 1Password, and subsequently locked myself out. The process for resetting my password involved receiving an email from them within a two-hour window, that email showed up about three hours later.
As you know, I left the house on Sunday to go shopping. Because I needed to hit both Target and Kroger I ventured up to Edgewood Retail District. For me it should have been renamed Edgewood Retail Distraction District because the number of attractive (and unfortunately married) women shopping on Sunday morning was impressive. I picked up most of my necessities from each store and headed home. I spent nearly all afternoon, evening, and early morning concocting the documentation that I will continue working on today. The only breaks I gave myself were an hour to prepare and eat dinner (I made a “Greek Chicken and Rice” dish which could alternatively been named “Chicken Jambalaya with Kalamata Olives”), and to have The Amazing Race on the television while I attempted to write. Speaking of writing this documentation I better get back to that soon so that I can have a job with health benefits to help pay for whatever the heck is currently wrong with me; I’ll recap TAR (at least what I can recall) in tomorrow’s blog.
Everyone In EAV Has Been To The Argosy But Me
The newest restaurant to open, well “soft open”, in East Atlanta is called “The Argosy” (apparently they have been to busy getting the physical space together to commission virtual space). From what I read on the EAV Buzz, everyone except me has tried it out already.
I’m not bitter. Well, maybe just a little.
The Argosy is supposed to open “for reals” on March 7th, perhaps I will go there for dinner sometime soon.

A Birthday To Celebrate (Belatedly)
Yesterday was my friend Sandy’s birthday. I wish I had remember that yesterday when I saw her from afar inside Target, for then I would have had a reason to head over to her and say “Hello,” and then “Happy Birthday.”

Today marks the day my father would have turned ninety years old. It’s a shame he’s not still around to hear me wish him a “Happy Birthday” today.
An Anniversary I May Celebrate
Today marks my seventh anniversary of my rejoining the Taco Mac Brewniversary program (back then it was still called the Passport Club). I may go to Taco Mac again today to celebrate with a pint.
Speaking of Taco Mac, on Friday night I heard that they have made an alteration to their name, the official establishment name is now “Taco Mac Sports Grill.” I think it’s kind of a sill change, but I get the fact that they want people to know that they serve more than tacos and that they can go to Taco Mac (Sports Grill) to watch their favorite sports teams on television. I shall forever call it “Taco Mac” because I am a curmudgeon.

Bummer, I just found out that Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers play with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra last Saturday night. It was a sold-out show, but I would have loved to seen/heard it.
Might I suggest not drinking until the crud has left the building? Alcohol can supress the immune system and delay you getting better. I know it sounds crazy but it might just help.
You are not alone, I have not made it to The Argosy either. I’m in no hurry, I’ll let them work some kinks out first.
We had a semi fun and productive weekend. I spent 2 hours on the trainer, ran 6 miles, then hike another 5 at Kennesaw and had Pho with friends…Nibbles also got a new red sweatshirt and a no-pull harness. It’s so embarssing not being able to control 11 pounds of dog…
I started back at bootcamp today, going to hit it 3-days a week for the next 6 weeks…this on top of my running and biking. I’ll be interested to see what happens.
A leisurely weekend here. Some well spent trainer time (not 2 hours- jeebus). Saturday evening was the “We fooled them again” party with the Games committee, where I was introduced as the new head of the grounds committee. Many congratulations and sympathies around.
Sunday was Debbie’s moms 75th birthday, so we took them lunch and Bday cake.
Today, Debbie’s brother Andy is coming over to help repair the door into the dog room- slightly rotted casing. And there might be some post hole digging for a shavings pile. We could save money by buying shavings in bulk from a sawmill.

It’s a crazy idea, but one which may actually work. I’m really wishing for the crud to leave soon so that I can determine if I need to see a doctor about something else which is going on with my body at the moment (no need to disclose yet, it’ll be all over this blog if something happens).

Yes it’s true, I was out playing in the cold this weekend. Saturday was race 3 of the Snake Creek Gap time trial series. I was able to shave 9 minutes off my time which was good enough to get me a 2nd place overall in the old fat guys class (barely). I took 2nd place by 30 seconds, pretty good battle for sure.
I’m looking forward to just riding again and not worrying about training miles 🙂
Sorry for the late response… we demo’d the door and went and bought the kit for it’s replacement frame. Andy realized he didn’t have the router kit that makes quick work of the cut-outs for the hinges and dead bolts, so we’ll continue that tomorrow. The shavings pile is a 3 sided enclosure for new shavings for use in the barn. The used shavinge are sent to the compost pile. It is now in the ground and has some boards nailed up, but needs a few more. Now we can order shavings in bulk. Yippee.
