Mobile Setup Update

As I bang out this blog post on my iPad Mini 4 with the Zagg Folio keyboard I am pleased to now know that my Skype setup on this iPad also works. I called my mother last night using the Skype iOS app and my Plantronics “Julie the Time Life operator” (google it if you are too young to get the reference) headset. The thirty-two minute call cost me a whopping 90 cents. Ha! As long as I can find reliable WiFi in Germany/Austria I can keep in touch with my mother for cheap.

Speaking Of Cheap
I left the office and headed to Midtown Wash where I was able find the machines I needed in order to get my laundry done as quickly as possible. Huzzah! I was done with laundry by 5:30pm, and having very little hunger at the time pointed the M6 toward East Atlanta. I considered stopping at Mexican(ish) restaurant and snack on chips, salsa, and queso with a couple of beers but the then I thought differently and headed straight home. When I finally had some hunger I boiled a box of elbow macaroni and mixed in a couple of cans of chicken breast and a jar of garlic-tomato sauce, making enough for dinner last night as well as three/four more meals (lunch today being one?).

For the rest of the evening I kicked around the house, put away my clean laundry, repositioned box fans, found the components needed for my Skype call, and watched an episode of last season’s Top Chef. (note to self: get TextExpander working on this mobile rig)

Yesterday morning I came out to find this guy (gal?) on the M6. Fortunately he (she?) was kind enough to pose for a photo before I had to shoo him (her?) off so I could head to work.

Things in the hood must be changing for this morning I saw the first slug (a skinny guy/gal) that I have ever seen in the eighteen years I have been living in the ITP Estate. By the way the German for “slug”, Nacktschnecke, is one of my favorite words because it literally translates to “naked snail”. 😁

Goodbye Spring
Though it’s felt like Summer in the ITP Estate for a few weeks now, Summer actually begins tomorrow (at least in the Eastern Time Zone).

Make it a great Tuesday gang!

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

No flight issues yesterday and a nice cab ride talking college football with the driver, a former Pitt player. Then off to find registration for the conference. Talk about an Easter egg hunt. I didn’t have the best info, so I wandered a bit between the Pitt and Carnegie Mellon campuses. 1 sign which only indicated the 2nd floor. Wander some more and finally find the table. This ain’t Cisco Live. I think attendance here is 300, compared to 25k.

Brought running clothes, so that’s the plan this afternoon.

Summer begins in every time zone! Every time zone in the northern hemisphere, anyway. 🙂 But dang, you’re right. It got too hot too quick and I’m not looking forward to the next few months. But at least we’re not in Phoenix, who will hit 115 over the next few days. My brother lives there. I don’t know how anyone can live there.

That’s a way cool bug shot.

    • Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Ah, but according to my Google search the Summer Solstice occurs tonight in the other time zones. Go figure!

      Thanks for the photo compliment.

      • Stacy says:

Oh, that’s because it’s at 12:24 am our time. 🙂 So, yeah. All time zones west of us will be today, but we and all east of us”tomorrow.” But still, literally at the same time as far as the sun is concerned.

    I thought Skype was free?
    (I never use it………)

My sister (who lives in Phoenix) has been up in Flagstaff for a soccer camp with my nephew, she has been in heaven with the lower temps. I told her she’s going to be moving there soon. My niece Maya is going to Northern Arizona there, so why not? I’m sure Zach would not be happy about moving, so I know it won’t happen.

We watched Amazon Prime Bosch last night to avoid the political commercials.
this is the last day of those damn things!!!!! Finally!!!!!

    • Skype to Skype is free, Skype to landline costs money albeit not much.

I loved my few days in Flagstaff. If they didn’t get so much damn snow I would have figured out a way to move there.

hey Paulie – I forgot to ask you.
Do you have any interest in a Wheelhopper jersey?
$50 – need to “order” at the hash – but I can do that for you next month, if you are interested.
(and Steve too, or anyone else, but I figured most had seen Zoltan’s post on the Wheelhopper FB page)

    • Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Though I would love to be one of the cool Wheelhopper kids I think that I am set on the jersey front. Thanks for letting me know.

I didn’t see much difference between my current WH jersey and the new one, unless I missed something.

Cold sitting in class all day. Sat outside for a while at lunch and it felt good.

    • You picked a good time to be out of town, the weather is complete shit here.

    • Barb says:

It isn’t much different – not really.
Some people are replacing theirs – as some people wear them a lot……. and they get the permanent funk smell……. hahahaha
Or – maybe the size isn’t right anymore……….
