March is the month when I fork over money to an insurance company for home owners insurance. Annoyingly my insurance company has raised my rate nearly 11% from last year. Yes, I am aware of inflation, but 11% in one year? If this company needs money so badly perhaps they could stop buying the naming rights for sporting arenas?

Tomorrow marks the 100th anniversary of my father’s birth.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was FRUIT

Living is expensive these days for sure. It’s like things are being priced in Monopoly money.

Wordle in 4 starting with DRIVE. I’m about to get on the road to Columbia. Here’s hoping for an uneventful drive there and back.

  2. Now that eggs are (relatively) reasonably priced again today marked the return of Paulie’s Breakfast Casserole. Yum!

    Ingredients
    5 eggs
    1/2 cup milk
Some form of grease for casserole dish
    1 tube of biscuits
12-16 oz of cooked breakfast meat (I use ground fake chorizo sausage)
    2 cups shredded cheese
    Pinch or two of salt
Sesame seeds or Everything Bagel seasoning (optional)

    Instructions
Whisk eggs with milk in a bowl
Cut biscuits into eighths, and distribute them evenly in the bottom of a greased casserole dish
    Spread meat over biscuit pieces
Sprinkle salt over biscuits and meat
Pour egg/milk mixture over biscuits, meat, and salt
    Sprinkle cheese on top
If using sesame seeds or bagel seasoning, sprinkle over top to your heart’s content

Bake in an oven heated to 375°F for 30 minutes
Lower oven to 325°F, rotate casserole dish 180°, bake for an additional 25 minutes
You will know it is fully cooked when casserole no longer has any wiggle when shook
Remove from oven and let casserole rest for 10 minutes before cutting

    Serves 6 Paulie-sized portions

Wordl in 4 using shoes. First mistake was using a letter twice but there was an ad for shoes so I picked that word without thinking. Met up with Davey, Slim, Kristina and a couple of out of town hashers at the battery. Felt nice to be included. :). Otherwise nothing to0 earth shattering going on. I did finish a hard puzzle a few days ago which I will pass on to Wee. Dogsitting Whiskey. It is the Global Day of Unplugging so I will do my best to stay off of the computer and social medial for 24 hours. Starting now! 🙂

    • Not a bad starter word, especially since Wordle has been on a little trend of using words with repeated letters recently.

      I’m using a wireless iPad, so I’m safe. 🙂

Sounds like a fun evening was had. Good on ya!

Looking forward to that puzzle, though I am certain it will frustrate me occasionally. The one I brought home from my mother’s was too easy so I will give it to one of the puzzle exchanges nearby. I’d ask you if you want a free puzzle from one of them, but you are now offline…

No way to unplug for me – when you have to work on a computer.

I went & got a pedicure last night, let’s hope at least 1 day in AZ I’ll be able to wear sandals…… it does look like it should be warmer towards the end of next week.

Today I need to actually pack, I’ve got piles of clothes staged, trying to decide what to take.

  5. Oh yeah, tomorrow is Georgia Beer Day. Perhaps I will find an obscure brewery when I shan’t run into anyone I know and celebrate this one alone.

SO glad it’s Friday, I really need a couple days off. Last week and this week completely exploded at work. Not in a bad way, but in a very busy way. Next week is spring break and, although of course we work normally, there aren’t any classes or students around which makes it a lot quieter. PLUS my boss is going out of town so I will actually get to work from home a day or two! Woot!

  7. Barb says:

    Wordle in 3 – I like a good guess.
And the Mini in 1:05 – maybe it will be a good day.

  8. Steve Brady says:

Barb and i are tied with Wordle in 3. A good day for a regular starting word. (SATIN)
At the cafe for breakfast then around the corner to the barber shop.

I think my ride today will be indoors.

  9. Still suffering some shortness of breath and an occasional cough. The longer this occurs the more I wonder if I did have COVID at the beginning of February and I am suffering some “long COVID” affects. Don’t know, but this is frustrating.

  10. David says:

I ran into a weird time warp in Columbia. The place I was told to park has coin-based parking meters, and no ability to pay with an app. I only had 50 cents in my car so that wouldn’t do. I found a parking deck nearby, and it too has a parking meter at every spot! Sheesh. At least I could use an app to pay there.
