It’s Friday! And because I am a slacker I have taken the day off from work to make this a four-day weekend! It’s not like I will be lounging around the house all day however, no, I have a long list of chores to start tackling.
Last night I joined Bonnie and her husband for dinner at Red’s Beer Garden. My oh my that area of town is turning quickly. Gone are the apartments that stood across the street, as well as the weird screened-in porch that used to be attached to the former bodega next door to Red’s. And of course the abandoned car wash and stand of bamboo are on the endangered list as they will become housing later this year. I hope that Red’s has a long-term lease otherwise I fear that they will be priced out of business and I will lose one of my favorite hangouts.
Other than the list of chores I am not 100% sure what I will get into this weekend.
Yes, many hours will be spent in WLF even though it may not appear that I spent much time back there. My biggest goal for WLF this weekend is to plan the configuration changes and improvements that I have kicking around in my head.
Tomorrow morning I will most likely get a walk in with Betsy.
On Sunday I may spin the legs on my bicycle, maybe checking out the southern extension to the South River Trail.
Of course I will be back on Monday morning to tell you all about it.
Have a happy and healthy Memorial Day weekend.
After wrapping up the days labors, I eventually got on my bike for about 18. It was even raining the tiniest bit when I started out.
Debbie rode from the house, so I got onto the task of swapping the windshield wipers on her truck. There was a very pretty rat snake who was supervising for a while and when she got back I told her. She was not amused.
The news from the Giro yesterday was Sagan getting hit with a 1000 SF fine for “intimidation “. He was riding at the front yesterday and deciding who could get into the break and who couldn’t. Maybe just a bit heavy handed.

Got a big shelf installed in Annette’s – of course some issues, so a couple trips to the close True Value happened. I love the small hardware store, walk in & an old guy takes you to the item you need.
Dinner with the in-laws on the deck. Tried a new recipe to cook baked potatoes in a bed of salt. They were pretty tasty. Not sure I’ll do it every time, but they were very good.
I’ll be going to the local Ace because if they have what I want in stock, fertilizer for berry plants, it will be almost half the price of what’s being charged on Amazon.
I’ve heard about that technique, but have never tried it.
Going to wait for another hour before cranking up Wee Little Chipper. One of my larger chores for today is WLF cleanup.
Two hours of yard cleanup done. There is much more to do, but I reached my limit for today.
Harvested two more bags of potatoes — more disappointment. ðŸ€ðŸ€ðŸ€
Trip to Ace and Aldi done, mostly successful.
Funny, recently I have been seeing commercials for a company that rates home repair professionals, called “Angiâ€. I kept thinking “How stupid! There is already a company in that space called “Angie’s List!†Turns out, Angie’s List is now named Angi. 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
