I have started my day with a good deed. While getting into the elevator this morning I found a debit card on the floor. I had to call building security in order to turn it over so that hopefully the card’s owner can reclaim it.

That’s a nice way to start the day!

Our supervisor here is out for about probably 2 months with neck surgery, of course they never hired anyone a couple moths ago in preparation for this. So – we are down 1 1/2 people (I only count her as a half) for this lovely fall “peak” season. I hate to say this, but at least the economy is down, so we aren’t as busy as we have been in past years.

“but at least the economy is down…”

    WTH?!

Where the heck do you work, the “Unemployment Office”?!
(Record employment, ipso facto, nobody goes to the unemployment office…) 🙂

The financial pundit shows can’t pay anybody to come on and say *anything* bad about the US economy….

“So surely the XYZ Indicator does foreshadow a recession, at least a mild one, at some point?”

    “Nope…..”

It was 45F in City of Decatur this morning.

ok John – I’ll be more specific – how about the retail economy is down?
our customers that are retail based for shipping product are not shipping as much this year as they have in years past.
Maybe its Amazon – I don’t know for sure, but we aren’t as busy as we used to be.

      • HamWithCam says:

        I hear you.
However, Consumer spending is….up, according to the pundits.

        I get the “shipping” thing.
No doubt, “Amazon” is a factor.

For example, the 2 x big (big) Fry’s Electronics stores here in Atlanta are on the verge of closing. “Amazon”.

Hopefully, the upcoming holiday season will bring a booming shipping business.

Good morning from the office! I’ve almost completed parsing through the emails and bringing my calendar up to date.

Life is short. Hug your loved ones whenever possible. I’ll explain later…

  4. This article about abandoned theaters ticks all of my interest boxes.

In 20 years of living in East Atlanta I never have had the opportunity to go inside the Madison Theater. Pity.
