I sorted and packed three bags of dirty laundry yesterday.
I remembered this morning to stop to buy the laundry soap I needed to do laundry.
It wasn’t until I pulled up outside the Waschsalon that I realized that I only managed to put two of those three bags of dirty laundry into the M6. Dangen!
I hope that this is the only mistake that I make today.
Tomorrow will be a “Work from Waschsalon†do over.
Due to the poison ivy on my left forearm I have been trying to wear my watch on my right wrist. If you want to fuck with your sense of normalcy, try doing this.
Heard the news that my first employer, Toys ’R’ Us, is going out of business. It’s been a very long time since I was a Toys ‘R’ Us kid – nearly thirty years in fact since I did my second stint – proving the times are always changing…
You’d think there would be space for such a store, but even good ideas can’t outrun bad management.
Somewhere, I got one little, itty bitty spot of PI on my hand. Itched like crazy through the night. And either I’m catching a cold or (Spring) pollen is finally getting to me after 59 years on the planet. Fall pollen got me a few years back, but this is new.
Barb, have a great time in Vail!
-FP
Yes, have a great trip Barb.
Happy tripping, Barb! 🙂
I don’t know if it’s an old wives’ tale or not, but I remember when hashing that we’d spray down our exposed skin with aerosol hairspray before the run and that was supposed to keep the poison ivy oils from actually getting on your skin. Not sure if it ever really worked but I remember funny times standing around sharing a big can of Aqua Net. 😀 And I’ve never had poison ivy! Though that could purely be coincidental.
I remember that Stacy! We need to do it, just for the fun of it.
I think the only thing that may work for me is sunblock, though I didn’t think to wear any because I had a long-sleeved shirt on. Of course, I might have gotten it on my arm as I changed clothes?
Left the house at 0710, parked downtown, ride Marta from Garnett to airport. Only 5 minutes to check bags, 5 minutes in TSA line, no prechek. Way too much time left over, all done by 0830.
Cuban breakfast at Papi’s in the T terminal. Overpriced of course, but tasty.
I’m curious how big an aircraft they fly into Eagle.
Boeing 757
A FL hasher, CumChowder will be getting to Vail Sat, so we may meet up to ski Sunday. He has me all afraid I have too many cold weather clothes, not spring skiing clothes. There is room in my luggage for new clothes….. both bags only weighed 40 lbs.
And, Aunt Lois may have come thru with some half priced lift tix! This trip is getting better and better!
I know I am in the minority but I have never been interested in skiing. I’m happy for all of you who like to do it, but it’s just not my bag.
Have you ever tried it? Out West? I always take my time and enjoy the scenery as much as the skiing. Steep is fine, but I don’t do bumps. I also stay out of the trees. I made 2 trips to ski in Europe and only really “got it” after going to Park City.
It’s crazy expensive, but it’s fun.
Only because of the free lodging do I feel we can afford this trip.
I only want to ski in real mountains, the smaller places are ok, but you spend too much time in lines for the lift to the top.
We haven’t skied in over 10 years, not sure how my body will like it anymore.
Never tried it.
– I am not a fan of vacationing in cold weather
– I don’t need another overly-expensive hobby
I tried it once, at Breckenridge. I sucked horribly! That one time was enough. 🙂
Bizarre dream last night. Somehow Paulie and I agreed to meet in person at a diner. He sat in a booth in the corner, facing the wall, with his back to me the entire time. I was in the booth behind him. He also worked the entire time, and had brought along a couple of 1980’s era Mac desktop computers. Clearly I’ve been spending *way* too much time reading this blog. 😉
“He also worked the entire time†that’s how you know that it wasn’t real life. 😉
Yes, and according to HamWithCam, you’re charming and engaging IRL, and so wouldn’t be isolated in the corner. 🙂
Paulie is.
Charming and engaging.
Seriously…

And I’m giggling at your set up of desktop computers at the diner.
Ah, dreams. Aren’t they the best? 🙂
Endless entertainment. 🙂 Well, some dreams. Others, not so much.
Whew, I thought my credit card was compromised again. However, it turned out to be a charge for parking when I went to the theatre last Thursday night.
Any chance any of you Midtowner working types planning to lunch today?
I’ve been at work since 6am and it’s dead quiet so I’m thinking about taking off a little early. As in, lunchtime. 😉 Anyone planning to meet up by chance?
Well, since I didn’t do laundry I too got in early so I could meet you for lunch. Name a time and place, walkable preferred, and I will see you there.
What’s “walkable”? is The Nook walkable? 🙂 Would that work?
(they have a bunch of $10 lunch specials which includes a drink)
Yes, I can walk to The Nook. At what time would you like to meet?
12:30 cool?
See you then!
Open invite for any ITP-Readers to join us! 🙂
I’ll bring my old MAC’s and be in the next booth!
Well-played, Steve. 👊ðŸ¼
Delicious lunch spent with Stacy and Steve. ðŸ‘ðŸ»
Alas, time always goes too quickly with these gentlemen!
I truly considered making an appearance at lunch today. Walked out of a dental appointment in Colony Square at 12:20, and could have walked down the block. But too much stuff was waiting on my desk, so I had to get back. I’m glad you guys had a nice time.
Oh that would have been lovely! 🙂
Showing up at a lunch is getting within the realm of possibility. My schedule eases up in May.
No snow in sight st the Eagle airport. No jetway, get to walk down a ramp outside. A balmy 49 degrees. Hope the snow makers are working.
It’s been a dry year out there. I hope you have something to ski on besides mashed potatoes (skier slang for poor snow).
