While already not as productive as I hoped to be, I did not make it onto my trainer this morning, today is all about getting shit done.
I am currently awaiting the start of this month’s Creative Mornings Atlanta.
Post talk I will be driving to Avondale Estates to get the M6 looked at. My meltdown last week was prompted by a dope move which involved me doing some body damage to the one-year-old M6. This will likely proved to be an expensive blunder. Perhaps I should keep my job a while longer…
After I consult the body shop I will be eating lunch, I’m thinking something naughty today even though I have yet to burn calories. Then it will a a stop into my tax preparer’s office. Which is near Decatur, to schedule my annual enema known as “income taxes”.
My final planned destination today is to hear a German architect speak at the Goethe Zentrum this afternoon. The talk is supposed to last until 7pm so afterward I may try to dine at Radial.
The rest of my time at home tonight will be dedicated to German studying.
The rest of this weekend is completely unscheduled, and I am thrilled about that!
A Near-Perfect Score!
Though I helped but a little I was pleased that we nearly achieved a perfect score last night at trivia. We missed two parts of the final question — “Excluding Ellen deGeneris and (one other name that escapes me at the moment) name the ten people to host or cohost the Oscars since 2000” — but walked away with a comfortable victory.
Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad
Lat night I cashed in 140,000 Delta SkyMiles. In doing so I booked a two-week trip to Germany in June, 102,000 miles, and a one-week trip to Vermont in August, 38,000 miles.
Still to book, but with. It enough miles to do so “cheaply” is my Labor Day trip to Colorado for the Colorado Invihash.
Have a great weekend friends!
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
What on earth happened to poor M6? I didn’t see any damage last night! Of course, I wasn’t looking for any either.
It now has a cracked rear bumper and a dent in the driver-side rear quarter panel, thanks to a bit of poor driving by yours truly last week. It’s not too visible in the dark but every time I see it I cringe.
My co-worker has been looking at plane ticket prices to Germany – she said they are less than $1000 right now – but using FF miles is a much better idea.
We are planning to go camping for 1 night Saturday night- I’m thinking Red Top Mtn. Time to finally test out the camper.
Allan I’m finding out will be not always at station 16, as the Lieutanents at the AFD seem to sub in at other houses. He is at Station 22 today, Hollywood Rd near Bankhead Hwy (I refuse to call Bankhead by its new name…….)
Bankhead Hwy has a new name?
Delta’s non-stop flights to Düsseldorf are $1500 currently. I had to spend $85 in addition to my miles, but it’s SkyMiles well spent for me.
Donald Lee Hollowell………
Megan was looking at Munich – said it was $900 or so. They are going early August.
Here’s a bonus too for today. Avoid hitting things with you car; my repairs may cost me as much as two round trip tickets to Düsseldorf. I may have done damage underneath the body as well. Dangen! Unbelievable for such a low-speed impact. It’s only money, right? 🙁
Additionally, I think I will now pay more attention each and every time I park the M6.
does it really “have” to get fixed? Besides the cosmetic issue that you have to look at & will bug you & remind you.
Surely your deductible is far less than that? But daaaaang. Sorry to hear it. 🙁
Finally checking in. Debbie went to feed this morning.and found Gus had a shoe that had started to come off. Unfortunately, it dug into his hoof with the clip that.normally sits outside the hoof. He was a good boy, standing still while I wrestled the shoe off. We’re now at lunch at HH.
Sorry to hear about the M6, but that’s why you have insurance. I’m guessing you bumped into some road furniture?
A beautiful day to hopefully go for a road ride!

“Have” to get fixed? No. But, it’ll continually bother me if I don’t get it fixed.
I did bump into some. Talking with the repair shop they said that I should wait to see the total estimate before considering a claim. I already pay too much for car insurance, I’d hate to see what my cost would be if I filed a claim for this…
I can’t imagine the claim would cost you more than reporting it. After I got “suckered” into pulling out in front of that guy in Decatur and he claimed he was hurt, there was no change in my rate from USAA.
I’m dropping the car off for a full estimate on Wednesday. At that time I will make my final decision based on the cost of the repair.
