The Rumor Of My Moving OTP Are Greatly Exaggerated

Just thought I’d keep this week’s title theme going…

Last night I took and unexpected journey to a place called Taco Mac on a street called Old Milton Parkway. As the Southerners say, that’s a “fer piece” from East Atlanta. The cause for my journey was the birthday of a friend, who happens to be a manager at said Taco Mac, and was working on her birthday. It was a rather long drive home…

Upon arriving home I attempted call my mother. It being 10pm I was not surprised that she didn’t answer, not because she was asleep, but rather she was not yet home from playing bingo. I made a mental note to try again at 10:30pm, but I was asleep by that time.

Today I’ve put the bicycle on the M6 in hopes of riding after work. Need to keep the legs moving so that I can ride 62 miles on Saturday…

Work beckons.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I actually Googled “Old Milton Parkway.” Woah.

Yes! Get some riding in tonight so you can come play trivia tomorrow. We’re back on! 🙂 Not that you couldn’t go home and then ride there….just not sure what the ride would be like back afterwards in the dark.

This weekend marks Music Midtown, oh joy! Actually, there are a few artists I’d like to see (Hall & Oates, Elton John, Billy Idol) if I really wanted to pay that kind of money to deal with those kinds of crowds. (Nein!) I’m seriously debating on Friday doing my first MARTA trip to work and back so that when I park on Thursday night, I know my car has a parking spot all weekend (gets real hairy around festival season by me since my off-street parking situation is only 6 spots for 8 people). I’ve been really lazy and driving in every day since the company pays for my parking garage. Not a sucky perk.

  2. I will be at trivia tomorrow. I *may* be a little late because I will be at Trees Atlanta’s “Tailgating for Trees” event that starts at 6:00pm in Old Forth Ward.

One good thing about living where I do in East Atlanta is that I never really have parking issues regardless of what is happening in the ‘hood.

Stacy – When we left George’s Sunday we decided to go 10th street back to the freeway – I saw they were already setting up & partially blocking the streets. I can imagine the “fun” of parking for residents, if you actually have to take your car somewhere.

I was thinking the same thing about seeing some of the shows, but I’m over big crazy crowds for concerts & the cost seems so high.

Last night I went to the driving range with Donna (Breaststroke). We are going over to Augusta to FATS to mtn bike Saturday 8/26 & I’m thinking about staying the night & golfing with her on Sunday, her Dad lives on a golf course. (Allan has to come back, he has to work Sunday). I haven’t played golf in over 3 years. It was interesting, Next we might go try actually playing at one of the par 3 course that are nearby over on Windy Hill.

If I’m not mistaken, that’s what us “old timers” used to call State Bridge road. Still closer than getting to AEFDSDR.

It was a long Games meeting last night, mainly because I had to stay until the bitter end and have a sidebar with several folks who were being PITA’s about a change we were trying to make. Folks that have been doing business the same way for years do not like change- no matter the reason.

The new pony should be here today!! He looks like Phinney as he has a related bloodline, but is a better mover from what we can tell from videos we’ve seen. The shipper will be meeting Debbie at the Huddle House to make the transfer- too funny.

Stacy, I know it’s so easy to use that free parking, but I think MARTA will be almost as easy. And you get a nice walk as well.

Well…. I also get a nice walk this way (my garage is a quarter mile away!), but yeah. The bigger thing for me is factoring the money. When I drive, it’s free. When I MARTA, it’s $5.
