If you look at the screenshot I include in today’s “ITP Flickr Pic” section you’ll understand why I did not make an appearance at George’s last night.
There are times I really hate this town, or where my job is located these days, or both.
Today’s Daily Challenge
Hug yourself for a count of ten.
Stretching your upper back and shoulders builds better posture and relieves stress. If you spend hours sitting at a computer, hugging yourself will give your body some relief. The same thing goes for people whose work is more physical, or those doing housework or gardening.
I can’t, I’m too fat.

“If Only”
If only my office had not moved out of midtown years ago.
If only I had changed jobs when it did.
Perhaps I wouldn’t have to deal with such lousy Atlanta traffic on a daily basis.
When All Else Fails, Get Fatter
I spent an annoying twenty minutes getting virtually nowhere yesterday before I gave up. Had I not been in so much pain from the previous night’s racquetball I would have packed clothes yesterday morning and convinced myself to wait out traffic at LA Fitness (or go for a pollen-filled walk). But I didn’t pack clothes.
Instead I wound my way to The Bird (aka “Firebird”) because I didn’t feel like going to Taco Mac where I had two Jekyll Brewing amber ales and a mediocre fried fish sandwich.
By the time I was done I had successfully waited out traffic and was home by 8:30-9:00pm and promptly passed out.
Today’s Personal Project
Leave work early to miss traffic. Head down to Emory to hear my boss and ex-coworker sing. Be home and “in bed” by 10:30pm.

Hmmm, looks as if you are on your own today regarding the WotD because I couldn’t think of one. Why don’t you tell me where to go — you’ve been awaiting this opportunity, haven’t you?
Why is “in bed” in quotes?
I was happy I didn’t have to drive anywhere yesterday, I’m so much more relaxed when I get to work from home.
However, taking a stroll through the yard I noticed one of the trees in the back has (what I think) is a serious issues. About 10% of the base looks to be rotted away (even down into the roots). Got a tree guy coming out tomorrow for a second option. It’s all the way at the back of the yard, at worst it would take out some fence or the shed, well the worst would be it fall on a dog or neighbor kid. We’ve been meaning to have all the trees looked at, I guess this was the final push we needed.
It is scary when you see a tree that just doesn’t look right.
was the Jekyll Amber Ale anything like the Jekyll I had in the growler? I have no idea what beer I bought.
There is always awkwardfamilyphotos.com for a website of the day – it is my go to website when I need a laugh.
Because I’ve been sleeping on the couch for the past few months.
The beer I had last night seemed sweeter than the one you had in the growler. Of course I was drinking in completely different environments so I may be unable to distinguish correctly. The one I had last night is called “‘merican Amber”
I think I the one I bought was some sort of IPA. But, I had been drinking & the guys selling were fun to talk to, had me taste testing things, so I have no idea.
We are off to Frank Guinn’s funeral this afternoon – I wonder how crazy crowded it might be.
Who was Frank Guinn?
Frank Guinn was the cyclist that was kill last week, while in NOLA on a training ride. He was an Atlanta firefighter. His brother-in-law was also hit and was in pretty serious condition (does anyone have an update on him?) as well.
Frank Guinn is the Atlanta firefighter killed in New Orleans on his bike on a training ride for the Ironman race a couple weeks ago.
Sad story

I believe that was the firefighter killed in NO on his bike last week.
Finally put our the fire that kept me late on Tuesday- at least found the source and have put people on the fix.
The report from the oncologist yesterday was all good, everything normal and see me in 6 months. She said she’d look at the CT they took and report if there was anything odd (beside the patient)
Small crowd at George’s. We caught up with John/Afterbirth. He reported Donna/Bubbett was in Urbana settling her aunts affairs. He and I are both looking forward to a ski trip next year- one of our normal participants has just retired, so has no scheduling excuses.
