Groundhog Day (sorta)

I was greeted with a “Paul, what are you doing here?” by the Laura, the receptionist/office manager at my dentist’s office. In a small room of other patients I replied “I have a 1 o’clock appointment.” to which she replied “You are not on my calendar for today, but you are on for tomorrow.” I pulled out my phone and checked the modern day calendar in it, I saw an appointment I entered for December 19th, but when I check the text message confirmation I received on Tuesday I saw that I confirmed my appointment for December 20th. Today I will return to the dentist’s office to say hello to the beautiful, short-haired Laura and perhaps actually see a dentist this time.

According to every weather map I see today’s forecast looks very wet. I will have to add this to my travel factors for going over to Cobb Parkway again today. I had also really planned to make it to LA Fitness today (have I mentioned how nuts work has been?) but may put that off for one more day…

Full Of Christmas Beer
I had a couple at Taco Mac with coworkers last night. By the time I returned home I was whooped, and promptly fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Over the next five days I am going to try and invest time into watching my favorite Christmas shows and movies. I have a lot to watch, and will most likely get on this task tonight.

Until tomorrow, friends,

Cheers!

In our cross county jaunt around Atanta last night, I almost convinced Allan that we should come crash your “party” at Taco Mac. But – driving 2 cars doesn’t work well for us, so I lost him (or he lost me probably) on 285, so by the time I realized it we were further up 400 & didn’t want to backtrack.
My car has left Peach Auto working just fine, except the defroster. It is now at East Cobb Auto to see if they can figure it out. If they can’t, I may just have to be happy that I have a garage & rarely need the defroster.

BTW – since I’ve been too busy & haven’t been a proper party planner, we are having a party Friday night. I put together an event on FB, but I really don’t like how the app works, and I haven’t felt like turning on a real computer to try to fix it. And – I’ve been trying to call/text people that I know aren’t on FB. But – I guess this way, the number of people will be a little less – right? the weather isn’t supopsed to be all that great.

I’ll be there tomorrow Barb, I only wish that I had an ugly Christmas sweater to wear (and a date to bring). Let me know if there is anything I can bring with me (in addition to alcohol of course)

There was a good turn out at 3rd Wednesday last night. An appearance by Mr & Mrs CMB and that budding bike racer Travis. Condo, Pigless, a nice couple from Raleigh on a cross country hashing adventure (Box Rot and her S.O. whose name I didn’t catch). He said he knew “of” Banger Not as someone who has hashed with them. Many of the usual Wed night suspects were also in attendance- I’d say a total of 20 or so.

As tomorrow is the end of the world, I think formal attire is a must- you have been warned.

Paulie – just an ugly sweater will do, you’ve got to have a classic one from high school still in your closet, don’t you?
With it going to be cold & windy, hanging in the garage mahal might need a sweater. Allan said I can’t put the deck heaters inside, he’s so no fun.

We are cooking up some pulled pork on the Egg, that is, if I can get it started tonight. I hate when he puts all this pressure on me…… lol
Allan’s mom is bring a spiral sliced ham. After that, its all up in the air, Allan has requested some green deviled eggs (made with avocados) to go with the ham. Gotta love Dr. Suess.
So – any food is good, but as I always say, something that doesn’t need a plate & fork is the best – finger food always disappears first.

Wow, I just found out that there is a $10 fee to park at Turner Field for that race I signed up for in January. What a scam! Since I will not be trained by then I just may skip the event entirely.

  6. Steve says:

You could ride your bike over…. a little cross training and a good warm up.

Turner field has to make some money in the off season – I can just imagine how much money they charged for thatr Christmas party.
