I had no recipes planned and no food purchased. I was going to have to rely on the kindness of what I had on hand.<\/p>\n<p><u>Breakfast<\/u><br \/>\nBreakfast consisted of two Nature Valley Trail Mix Fruit and Nut Bars, purchased for $0.30 each from a co-worker. In addition to that I drank coffee that is provided for free by my employer.<\/p>\n<p><i>Total cost = $0.60<\/i><\/p>\n<p><u>Lunch<\/u><br \/>\nLunch was another scrounge-and-eat affair. I usually keep a bag of white rice and some canned goods in my office for days on which I don&#8217;t want to go out and eat. I calculated the cost of a cup of dried white rice as $0.35, cooked up two cups, and then ate half of the cooked rice with a can of black beans which cost $0.70.<\/p>\n<p>With my meal I drank water.<\/p>\n<p><i>Total cost = $1.05<\/i><\/p>\n<p>I made a stop at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kroger.com\" target=\"_blank\">Kroger<\/a> on my way home from the office.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/50413317@N00\/3306022783\/\" title=\"Receipt From $30\/Week Project by InsideThePerimeter, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3539\/3306022783_fa89a2bdf0.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"Receipt From $30\/Week Project\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nRegardless, I went ahead and ate some of the food I had left over from the weekend, calculating the cost of the serving consumed based on the purchase price.<\/p>\n<p><u>Dinner<\/u><br \/>\nI ate a cheese sandwich for dinner.
