Um, yeah.
And with last night’s victory by FSU (conveniently I did not watch the game) Hell has officially frozen over again.
Today’s Daily Challenge
Inhale, lift your arms, place your palms together over your head, and look up at your thumbs.
This yoga-inspired challenge helps to provide a gentle stretch through your whole body, and the deep, coordinated breathing can help to quiet your mind. Yoga has been shown to reduce stress and lessen feelings of anxiety.
Then drink!
More Like A Lavanderfreezia
Last night I left the office and headed straight to Chamblee to do laundry. I was secretly hoping that the place would be packed with amigos all with their clothes in the dryers upon my arrival, but it was not. At one point I was so cold inside the lavanderia that I literally stood against my dryers for warmth; that worked very nicely I might add.
When I was done I quickly loaded up the Jackmobile and headed home where I spent the rest of the evenly snuggling under massive amounts of warming blankets and a comforter, watching video on my iPad until I fell asleep. Until…
Seriously? iPad To The Rescue!
At one point in the evening, I believe it was a little past midnight, I awoke (with the room light on, because I can fall asleep in any scenario) to find a small (and I believe somewhat harmless) spider walking across my sheets. When I opened my eyes the spider was about a foot away and headed straight for my face! I calmly picked up the iPad and used it to kill the spider.
What the fuck is up with my house? I have seen more spiders (not to mention the two cockroaches I saw in my kitchen within fifteen minutes last week) in that house than anywhere I have ever seen before. And I swear the goddamn place is clean because I am a border-line neat freak!
I will not stand for such infestation. While it rains this weekend I will be cleaning the bejeezus out of my bedroom, spraying all of the nooks and crannies with bug spray.
Speaking of this weekend, I’m still thinking Gladiators hockey on Saturday night if there are interested parties.

“Man In The Box”
The other day I turned the (iPhone) camera on myself, took a photo, and then edited it using an app called Snapseed (now a Google Joint). In Snapseed I cropped waaaaay in, turned the image to black and white, and mucked around with the sharpness.
To me the photo provides a large amount of tension and turned out much like a Chuck Close painting. Because of this you may find it odd that:
1) I like the photo even though I don’t look especially handsome (as if I ever do).
2) I published this for all the world to see.
What Is A Clif Bar But A Breakfast Candy Bar?
And shame on me for eating one this morning.
A New Brew Is Officially Launched
Tonight I’ll be working my way back to Grant Park to attend the launch party thrown by Eventide at Six Feet Under.
You may be asking yourself, “Paulie, how do you do it and how can I join your fun?” Well, if you are a single woman the answer is easy; guys, you are shit out of luck.
Seriously, I’m not exactly sure how I’ve wound up on some of these email lists. (Note: I am in no way ensuing insinuate that being invited to a public party for a brewery launch is an “elite event” but without receiving the invitation email I am not sure I would have known about it.)
I’ll give the blow by blow account of my (hopefully) fun time tomorrow.

*** down downing my tea ***
I’ll say it here, because if I do it on FB, everyone will get all pissy.
Its cold out, but just damn, so what? Its winter. I don’t mind people stating the obvious, its cold, but the whining about it……….
I enjoy the chance to wear some of my warmer clothes.
I told Felicia she is a dumb ass, she was stuck in the San Juan airport for over 12 hours & she didn’t think to change out of her flip flops into shoes? I was nice enough to bring her a real jacket.
I have more Auburn fan friends than FSU fan friends (at least on FB). Their posts after losing were cracking me up, they are very loyal fans.
Gowabunga! It’s cold. I only have a block walk to get to the back door of the orafice, but I still have on long johns, a fleece jacket under my ski jacket, a neck gator and hat with ear flaps. In waiting for the bus to go home yeaterday at 5 Points, the wind coming out of ” the gluch” was brutal. Of course, I wasn’t dressed for it.
FSU came back? The way Auburn was playing, I didn’t think there was a chance. Back in the day FSU was the only school (besides Tech) that I applied to and was accepted- they still have one of the best Meteorology programs.
I think the pipes were a bit cold this morning- as I started the shower, there was a bit of hesitation and a little “clay colored” water- like what you might find coating the inside of a pipe. Debbie reports all flowing now.
Happy 2400! Which means I have responded about 2350 times! Get a life indeed.

Barb, as long as nothing crazy happens (pipes don’t burst, tree doesn’t topple over, etc) I am okay with the cold. Hell, it’s the only time of year I can cover my fat with my sweater collection and overcoats. 😉
Apparently it was a well-contested game, I don’t like either school (okay, I hate FSU) so I had no desire to watch it.
We watched a few minutes of the game, I don’t care about either team as well, but it was a good football game, just to be watching football. We have found it is much more fun to watch when you don’t really care who wins.
I had a hard time trying to figure out which sweater to wear today. I like when that happens.
Don’t freak out too much about the buggies…it just a combo of cold weather and an old house. Nothing personal…
“because I can fall asleep in any scenario”… F you! Okay just kidding, sort of… so I went back to the sleep doctor yesterday…they’ve up my meds and they are going to send me to shrink… and probably do another test or two in the coming months. They are now leaning towards a Dx of narcolepsy. Yep the girl that can’t fall asleep may have narcolepsy? I’ve been reading up on it and there is a lot more to it than just falling asleep at inconvenient times. Plus my sister has had the same Dx.
Nibbles would lose her mind in a laundry mat…she goes nuts everytime I pull warm clothes out of the dryer!
Martha, if it’s any consolation I don’t sleep well. I described Sunday night’s “sleep” as a “series of one-hour naps” to my coworkers yesterday.
I’ll admit it – I’m kind of enjoying this weather. I wouldn’t want a whole winter of it, but there is something very satisfying to me about making sure my horses are warm and cared for. They really like their hot meals!
Thank goodness for the new furnace! It’s keeping the house quite a bit warmer than the old one. I’m afraid to check the propane tank; I’m sure we’re burning (ha) thru it pretty quickly.
I stayed up until the bitter end of the game. I was hoping for an Auburn (SEC rules) victory, but it was a great game.
Which reminds me- maybe you should go and see how the tank looks? Better to get him back out before we run out of gas!
Martha, Dx of narcolepsy and can’t fall asleep? Convoluted.
Paulie, I would love to go see some hockey, but Saturday, my high school is having there annual get together at Manuels. What time is the game?
Allan is working Saturday. Not sure if I’ll want to go to Gwinnett, I’ll have see.
I wake up (am restless) a lot, the fitbit has proven that to me. I’m so excited when I look at the log & see that I slept for more than a couple hours straight. But – over all, I think I sleep ok.
Whoa, checked the propane gauge and we’ve burned more than a hundred gallons in about 10 days. NOW, I’ll complain about the cold, it’s expensive!!
Okay, sounds if a group outing to Gwinnett on Saturday night isn’t going to work out. I just may make the trip out there myself, but plan to play it by ear.
I think Kevin wants to go……
Hello everyone. It’s 4 F Degrees here in NYC, with a wind chill of -17, so I’m staying in till Sunday. Self employed is a good thing. Surfing the web I came across BronxBrewery.com. Just another reason to come on up to NY, but wait until spring.
Anyone hear from Bob? Did he survive crossfit?
It’s normal to wake-up some every night…I wake up a lot more than a normal person. I have a very fragmented sleep pattern and I spend way too much time in REM (normal amount of time spent in REM 20-25%, me 55-60%) and no time at all in Stage 3 (deep sleep)….I should be psychotic by now 🙂
Whew, you can keep this sort of weather Ronnie. Bronx Brewery, eh? I’ll be there.
Should I chime in and say it’s cold outside too? I find it funny all the temperature guage photos on Facebook this morning.
I survived Crossfit! I think I may enjoy it too. Going to a gym and just lifting weights has always been painfully boring to me. Lots of moving around and different kinds of stuff to keep me entertained at crossfit. I will refrain from the kool aid though, if you see me post a picture of myself on Facebook doing crossfit you have my permission to kick me in the nards.
Don’t sweat the bugs Paulie, it is not a sign of a dirty house. It’s cold outside so they are just migrating to warm.
Oh, and I’m out for Hockey. It is my annual pilgrimage to the monster truck show at the dome on Saturday. Anybody want to go?
MOOONNNSTER TRUCKS!!! Pass. Now if I had a 6 year old son, I’d be drinking beer right there with you.
And the hockey schedule is a little light this year…
And I think Ronnie was saying 4 F(cking) degrees, not 4 degrees fahrenheit!!
Stay warm, all.
Paulie, I think you meant to say, “implying” instead of “ensuing” in the Eventide section. Ensuing means one situation following another, as in, “beer drinking and the ensuing hangover.” Or perhaps you meant “insinuate”?
Bob, glad you liked Crossfit. Most people (the silent majority) aren’t krazy Kool-Aid drinkers. We just show up and do the work and then go on with our lives. It’s continually interesting, as you say, and a great workout for the whole body. But you’re allowed to be excited when you hit a PR!
I live in a 10 year old apartment complex and I still get bugs. It’s called “living in the south.”
A series of one-hour naps would be a GOOD night for me.
Man, I just scheduled my credit card payment that included the painting cost. OUCH!
Whoops, “insinuate” is what I had in mind. Thanks.
I expect the occasional bug, but the spider count is higher than what I am used to having — especially when I see one headed my way whilst my head is on the pillow!
damn bugs, I hate them, but they exist & come into my house. We even have hte house professionally sprayed 4 times a year & they still show up here & there.
