This has been a long, trying week.
Read Along With Me
Today’s passage from Notes To Myself.
Often my fantasies express how I would like to feel rather than how I do feel. Here’s this man I’m afraid of and I fantasize the part of the very tough person — when actually I feel weak in relation to him. Do I want to actualize myself? OK, the actuality is I am afraid of him.
To all who have helped me — Thanks.
I’m So Fresh
On Wednesday I received an email from Moore Farms And Friends detailing my purchase. Here is what was supposed to be delivered

1/2 dozen Eggs
Here is what was delivered
and
(note that the one sitting in the lower right corner, in the Fanny Flagg seat on “Match Game”, is actually a pale shade of green)
and
I still have a lot of learning to do when it comes to food styling, lighting, and photography…
Not pictured are the four oranges which were part of the package. I was kind of bummed to see them since I was hoping to get the squash. Oh well.
I haven’t come up with a plan for cooking the vegetables yet, that will happen Saturday. Thanks to my friend Martha (aka “Laura”) who dropped off a care package of extra lasagne that she made I didn’t have to whip up anything last night. And since I know she reads this space, thanks! Martha it was delicious.

What, I just gave you three! Okay, here is a cropped image of some strawberries
Not bad. Not bad.
Since There Can Be No Survivor Recap Thanks To Basketball
Here’s another thing that relates to Top Chef.
I recently found out that there is a podcast that does an approximately five-minute interview with the chef that gets ousted each week. The podcast is part of a larger effort done on Chow, which is a really cool food/drink-related website. Those of you who have been reading ITP for a while and have stellar memories will remember that Chow was a “Website Of The Day” one day last September (oh, I had to look that up).
I’ll Not Make This Mistake Again
The day is here, that day being the Paul Poundstone concert day. To date I’ve had zero dates since purchasing two tickets for this event (it’s much worse than that, but that’s another story). Tonight I will be eating the second $31 ticket because of my inability to engage women. For many other events I’d invite someone to join me just so that the seat is filled and the money didn’t go to waste. However this ticket was purchased with intent to be given to a date and since I don’t have a date, it will not be used. I’ll not make this mistake again, nor will I be starting a local chapter of the “Optimists’ Club” any time soon.
Literal Rain On My Parade Run?
Here is a Friday-morning forecast for the weekend’s weather in Atlanta
Can you guess on which day I will be running for two hours? I’ve trained in shittier weather than what is predicted for Sunday, but I was really hoping that I would be rewarded for this with a sunny, 65-degree day. And before you start telling my how low-50’s is such great running weather, stop!, I’d rather it be warmer.
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – I feel like a loser, this time in a bad way
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Liam Finn — “Second Chance” (if you were wondering, he is the son of Neil Finn.
Website Of The Day – Since this entire week has seemed to focus on being a “localvore” it only seems fitting to highlight Local Harvest today.
Exercise (b)Log – nothing, damn I good at this tapering!
Monthly Foot Mileage – 80 miles
Monthly Wheel Mileage – 0 miles
Mode Of Transportation To Work – My car
Monthly Marta Rides – 0
March Goals
1) Run no fewer than 75 miles
2) Ride Marta no fewer than ten times (five round-trips)
3) Read at least one book
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
Just make sure to bring the ticket with you & grab dinner somewhere beforehand. You never know: you might meet a cutie there or in front of the theater looking for a date. 🙂 It may not be a “planned beforehand” date, but could possibly lead to another “in the future” date…
I have not destroyed the ticket. I’m not optimistic that luck will shine on me, but I will not shut down the possibility beforehand.
What venue is the show? We will try to pick out a good happy hour dinner location for you.
BTW – a girl here can not believe those strawberries are real, they look so good. I hope they taste as good as they look.
The show is at the Ferst Center at Georgia Tech. Don’t plan around me though because
a) traffic around there should be horrible tonight thanks to many factors
b) I need to be in East Atlanta to drop off some money after work
They are real, I swear. The ones I’ve eaten have been good although I admit to not being a strawberry expert.
I was once in the same situation as you for a show last year, i went on craigslist and got a quick date and we ended up seeing each other for some time…
or, just show up with the straightest face possible and a blow up doll. keep your composure and it will be funnier than Paula Poundstone (though that isn’t difficult)
I like D.D.D.Daves idea… what is the worst thing that could happen? Sit next to someone for an hour and a half that you don’t know and don’t want to know.
Just like any other random seating assignment.
All kinds of other possible good things, though.
C’mon Paulie, cast your net and see what happens…

(BTW, your shipment of Yeungling will be in this afternoon!)
Craigslist, hadn’t thought of that. I couldn’t pull off the blow up doll; too bad, I think it’s a funny idea.
Most people I that to are down on Poundstone’s act. I kinda like it, perhaps it’s my NPR sensibilities.
I noticed they had herb plants also…if you place an order again you should get some basil to go with the peppers and tomatoes you are going to grow this year. Heck, I might piggy back a few on your order as well.

Most people I that to are down
WTF does that mean?
“Most people I that to are down on Poundstone’s act. I kinda like it, perhaps it’s my NPR sensibilities.”
should have been
“Most people that I talk to are down on Poundstone’s act. I kinda like it, perhaps it’s my NPR sensibilities.”
That’s what I get for commenting via my cell phone. 🙁
is she still diddling kids?
Don’t know. I still like Pee Wee Herman even though he was caught diddling himself in public.
When I went home at lunch, on channel 69 (keep your mind out of the gutter) there was some show called Jury Duty with Paula Poundstone. Weird coincidence. I didn’t watch it, but I did look at the info guide to see if it was some local live interview or something. It wasn’t.
Huh, I’ve never heard of that show.
