I try to be open and honest, but there are certain things that I can’t divulge in public. I, along with everyone else, have issues…
Read Along With Me
Today’s passage from Notes To Myself.
I live from one tentative conclusion to the next, thinking each one is final. The only thing I know for sure is that I am confused.
To all who have helped me — Thanks.
Blame It On The Fever
Yesterday was Tuesday, the day which new CDs are released. Normally I pick one as my weekly pick. However, either the illness that has overcome me or the fact that my internal calendar is all messed up from my travels, I forgot.
Well, since I forgot I might as well pick something that came out twenty-five years ago instead of yesterday. Recently we passed the twenty-five year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Here is my favorite take on the groundbreaking video, feel free to dance along…
I Am Declaring DVR Bankruptcy
Four days away from my television and I now have more shows than I can ever hope (want) to watch. Taking a cue from the business world with the idea of declaring email bankruptcy I have officially declared “dvr bankruptcy.”
Last night I started deleting hours of recordings which I realized that I will never find the time to watch. Honestly. it felt good to do it.

Two for one today…
I am a huge game show nerd. When I heard a few months ago that former Match Game writer Dick DeBartolo had uncovered a stash of original Match Game question cards and was offering them up for sale, I had to jump on it. These are the three cards that I purchased.
Along with the Match Game cards Dick DeBartolo sent me a signed copy of Mad Magazine. DeBartolo has been a writer at Mad for over forty years.
I Am Closing Paulie For Renovations
My head is spinning and not because I have been sick. I have been constantly on the go for weeks on end and I have been unable to take care of the tasks that are on my life’s plate.
To combat the anxiety that accompanies this situation, I am going to take a lot more time for myself. You will see me around, but I will be making more time for me and less time for others.
Fear not, ITP.com will not suffer in fact it will benefit from the clearing of anxiety from my body.
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – trying to get my life back on track
Current Music – listening to the Sound Opinions podcast
Website Of The Day – In addition to his role as Match Game and Mad Magazine writer Dick DeBartolo is also know as the Giz Wiz. (Fixed! Thanks Martha!)
Exercise (b)Log – nothing, I’m still sick
Monthly Foot Mileage – 23.7 miles
Monthly Wheel Mileage – 0 miles
Mode Of Transportation To Work – My car
Monthly Marta Rides – 0
February Goals
1) Run no fewer than 75 miles
2) Ride Marta no fewer than ten times (five round-trips)
3) Read at least one book
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
>but I will be making more time for me and less time for others.
Amen to that!
I believe this has always been my greatest weakness, I will take care of EVERYONE else before me…I treat others better than I treat myself and it does have to change.
As far as Thriller goes…there is a new commercial for bottled water…(I guess this was played during the superbowl but I missed it? Surprised?)

the poor cricket!
Ahhh, Match Game — now that was a classic, full of sexual innuendo, campy jokes and great funky music that was a cross between the Sanford & Son theme song and a bad porno. Anyway, very cool memorabilia. I’m just curious as to how you learned about the sale in the first place — are you lurking some game show blog or something? And do you have any other pieces in your collection — dice from High Rollers, a playing card from Joker’s Wild, Bill Cullen’s toupee?….
I wish the story was that good Brenan.
btw- I’d kill for some dice from High Rollers!
Actually, I listen to a podcast called “The Daily Giz Wiz” which is done by Leo Laporte and Dick DeBartolo. On the podcast DeBartolo mentioned that he had uncovered them and set up a website (www.matchgamequestions.com?) to buy them.
I’m curious what all you are recording on your DVR? Mine has been almost empty these days. We have started watching a crazy Canadian show on WGN called Corner Gas. It grows on you, has lots of smart ass dialogue.
I deleted a backlog of “The Daily Show”, “My Name Is Earl”, “Atlanta Shorts” (10-minute films), “Family Guy”, as well as a bunch PPV movies that I will never watch.
I still have a bunch of things that I will attempt to watch, but will be making the tough watch/delete decision on those this weekend.
Mad Magazine was one of my favorites in my younger days.. the take offs of current TV shows and the song parodies were favorite.. and of course Spy vs. Spy.
Glad you are finally putting Paulie on the top of the list- I know he is being neglected.

I LOVE THE MATCH GAME!!!! I think I am in love with Richard Dawson, which is both frightening and sad…
If you happen upon any Dawson material, a used flask or a leisure suit for example, let me know!
