Whether it be allergies or a full-on cold my night was not what I wanted as I skipped the play, worked until 8pm, and the promptly returned home and went to bed. I’m additionally bummed by my wasting of money on this play because I just bought the ticket Tuesday when I had no idea that I wouldn’t be able to attend due to illness.
I’m still in bed and have already alerted work that I won’t be in, though I will be working from home today. Dangen.
Today’s Personal Project
Feel better enough to go out to The EARL for tonight’s Hold Steady concert.
Today’s Daily Challenge
Set a timer and spend fifteen minutes de-cluttering one spot, such as your closet, files, or inbox.
Removing clutter and getting organized helps us feel more productive, energized, and less stressed. But sometimes we get so overwhelmed by a project that we don’t even start. By setting a manageable goal of 15 minutes’ worth of work, you will feel much more confident as you dive in. And seeing your progress may even motivate you to take on more 15-minute chunks in the future.
If I can get out of bed I’ll de-clutter a physical location, if not I’ll work on my inboxes.
Bring On The Heat
With the temperature dropping outside my house has settled into a upper-60s° F atmosphere. While I can normally ignore the drop below 70° F, I cannot when I’m not feeling well. So this morning I broke out the space heater, closed my bedroom and bathroom off to the rest of the house, and am attempting to warm my space.
Not Much Else To Report
I’ve just started a loaf of bread for later. I think that I am going to try to go back to sleep now…
See you all tomorrow.

Hope you feel better asap!
I’ve started to declutter our pantries. Two closets side-by-side and one is horribly moth-infested and the other moth-free. I think the recycling bins may be the issue, but whatever the cause, today is death-to-moths day.
The food from our CSA box goes bad faster than stuff we buy at the store, so we’ve been having a slight bug problem lately. Now that I know what it is (the potatoes & popcorn) and we’ve cleared them out of the pantry we seem to have it under control.
Speaking of CSA, threw a beet in my smoothie last night…just as I thought, it tasted like dirt, just like it smells…but it’s supposed to be good for me right?
Thursday is now my offical telework day, so I’m sitting on the couch in my pjs ‘working’. I love teleworking…I slept in today so I’m a little behind but I’m planning on getting a lot done today.
I hope you feel better, let me know if you need anything I’m around today.
I think some of those little bugs have taken up residence in the old beer bottles and plastic bags, and once we take them out to recycle, they just wait for the next batch to arrive.
My last day at my real job until the 23rd and I’m sure I’ll be a complete vegetable that day. A real day off tomorrow and then the fun begins.
Feel better Paulie. I can email you some chicken soup…

So, I finally have time to read, and Paulie’s sick.
I’m almost caught back up, I swear, truck drivers just suck, they disappear, just don’t pick up, etc. I’ve spent the past 2 days getting yelled at for things I can’t control.
Steve – we are still thinking about coming out to the games…….
Speaking of bugs, Allan had the exterminator people come out & spray, I think we are on a schedule of every month or 2 right now. There are just too many bugs in this world for me, and I really dislike them in the house.
Martha, try roasting the beets. Wrap them individually in foil (skin on) and roast until fork tender.
+1 on roasting beets.
I’m still lounging around the house. I’m feeling a little better and am anxiously awaiting the completion of my loaf of bread in about twenty minutes…
Nope, I tried roasting the beets last time I got some, the smell was just too much, like hot dirt. I’m not a fan of mushrooms either, maybe dirt flavor just isn’t for me 🙂
Anyway, I have a conference call at noon then I think I’m wrapping up work for the day, nothing is working and I have other stuff I could be doing.
Oh boy, that bread (sliced waaaay before it cooled) smeared with butter or almond/peanut/cashew butter is amazing! Just what this ailing body needed (well, maybe not but it’s made me happier).
Barb- message received… I should make that happen this weekend.
And y’all are talking about raw beets, not pickeled beets?? I’m not a fan.. Debbie will serve them and I’ll eat them, but not a fav.
