I’m not counting any chickens…
Today’s Personal Project
Have a good time hanging out with a friend tonight, thinking little about my troubles.
Today’s Daily Challenge
Share one new food that you can add to your next salad, such as nuts, dried fruit, beans, or egg.
There’s no doubt that eating a green salad is a great way to get important nutrients, but the typical lettuce-and-veggie combo can get a little dull. It takes only a little effort to throw something new into the salad bowl, and the unexpected tastes or textures may tickle your taste buds. It may even inspire you to try other fun add-ins in future salads!
I dig adding dried cranberries (brand name — Craisins) to my salads, the rare times I make salads.
Egg Salad Sandwich Redo
If you remember yesterday I mentioned getting an egg salad sandwich at Zoë’s Kitchen the day before. While eating at Zoë’s Kitchen a coworker asked me if I had tried the egg salad sandwich from our building’s cafeteria.
I had not, at least until yesterday.
By and large an egg salad sandwich is an egg salad sandwich, as long as you don’t do anything gross like add raw onions. The version procured from the cafeteria and consumed for yesterday’s lunch was very good. I ate baked potato chips (brand name — Baked Lays) instead of the marinated slaw and also had a soda, and my lunch was $3.50 cheaper than at Zoë’s Kitchen. To be fair to Zoë’s they did have much better “atmosphere.” 😉
iPhone 5 Is Still Not Alive
I allowed myself to leave “early” yesterday (6:30pm) when I was asked to join my boss for a beverage at Chuy’s. Of course we only had beverages and chips at Chuy’s so when I was done I meandered over to Taco Mac.
By the time I arrived home I was kicking myself when I realized that I could have spent that time activating my new iPhone 5 instead. Oops.
Tomorrow will be my official iPhone 5 activation day. I’ll have full access to Siri, and will have to think of a witty new outgoing voicemail message for it.
Braves Game Tonight?
I may be headed down to Turner Field to watch my beloved NY Mets battle the Atlanta Braves. The other day I received a phone call from a friend who offered me a ticket for tonight’s contest. Here’s to hoping the rain holds off, the beer is cold, and the Mets pull out a meaningless victory.
Is tonight “Chipper Jones Appreciation Night?” Not from this Mets fan…
I Might Even Get Two Days Off Again This Weekend
My status is uncertain at this time, but I just might be able to take two days off this weekend… for the second weekend in a row!
I Fully Expect To Experience A Gator Loss This Week
Even though LSU looked weak against a less-than-stellar Auburn team I think they have a good chance at beating the Gators this weekend. Fortunately, the game is in Gainesville so maybe the home cooking and crowd can prove me wrong.
Another Month Coming To An End…
However The Amazing Race starts again on Sunday! (I really wish that they’d move it to a different night during football season, however).
I’m looking at my stats and I’m perplexed as to how I seemingly will not make one hundred foot miles this month. You figure that one hundred miles is five miles a day for twenty days. Admittedly I rode (only) two days, so that leaves twenty six that I could have walked this month. I swear that it seems as of I’ve already exercised on twenty of them. Who knows, maybe I am taking more credit than I should, especially if the numbers aren’t lying…

I was a little surprised/disappointed myself when I looked at my totals for the month as well. I did have two trip in September that caused me to miss a few days but I still have 3 days, which will include an hour of riding and 30ish miles of running (god why did I do the math, I’m tired already)
I reset my diet yesterday, this month has been a little stressful and I have not been eating well. Word of advice, if the ‘look’ of what you eat is important to you, do not but carrots and spinach in the same smootie…
No big plans this weekend, Jerry is cooking a brisket for a friends party (which we are attending) otherwise, I’ll spend a good chunk of the weekend lost in the woods or driving to get there and back.
Have a safe and happy weekend everyone.
*I heard that traffic will be nightmare at the game tonight, all the ‘offical Braves’ parking is sold out and they are warning folks to take MARTA, not park in ‘private’ lots, etc…
I can imagine traffic will be horrendous. I’ll be carpooling with Harold (aka BWanA) who has informed me that he also has a parking pass.
I should have already completed my ride and been to breakfast, but the 07:00 “wake up call” from the yard guys meant “roll over” and go back to sleep- which is where the mizzus remains.
We have a niece’s 29th birthday (no, really, 29) tomorrow and if the weather holds, I think I’ll ride the 35 or so over to it.
As tomorrow is the Chili Cookoff at Stone Mountain, that means Sunday will be cleanup day on “our” field. Hopefully the crowds won’t do too much damage with the rain. One day, we’ll actually have a nice looking field for the Games- once the Chili Cookoff finds another place to play. Oh well, I’ve been waiting for that for about 20 years, or however long it’s been going on.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I guess my Parrothead friends have given up on the Chili Cookoff, or tehy are keeping it quiet – I totally forgot it is this weekend.
Is it supposed to rain?
I’ve been so busy at work this week – I haven’t even had a chance to watch the news when I get home (I watch some crap to relax).
Nothing exciting on ouur agenda this weekend – tonight, sitting on the deck, smoking some trout for dinner.
Tomorrow, I get to work until about noon, then who knows, and cooking a london broil on the Egg for dinner.
Sunday, Allan works, I want to go for a ride, but not sure where. Maybe yoga in the afternoon, and a pedicure.
I don’t think rain is in the forecast until tomorrow afternoon, it does feel muggy outside though.
Tell Harold I said hello.
I almost forgot about my ‘techie’ project for the weekend, trying to hook the laptop up to the tv…should be pretty easy, right?
If the laptop has DVI or HDMI it should be a piece of cake — as long as the content you are trying to play allows the player to push it out the DVI/HDMI port. Stupid content providers…
Went for a ride and met Debbie at the cafe in Luthersville. Humid in the owrd of the day. Maybe I need to think about eating more carbs, cause there wasn’t much in the tank today. 17 was all I could muster.
