Almost A Non-Start

If not for the fact that I am selfishly hoarding my abundance of paid days off this year for sick days, days needed to be at home while repairs are performed, and actually vacation days, I’d not want to be in the office today.

The alarm clock went off this morning. I thought it was colder than it really was. I turned off the alarm and snuggled back into my warm bedding and promptly went back to sleep (almost continuously!) for ninety minutes. When I awoke I still didn’t want to get out of bed. But I did. So I’m going to make the best of this decision.

I Broke The First Rule Of Restaurant Ordering, And Failed
Last night I met up with the Roswell Photographic Society Flickrites for dinner at Mr. Taco. The name of the restaurant is “Mr. Taco,” so why didn’t I order tacos? It’s in their goddamn name!

I was inexplicably overwhelmed and confused by the massive menu posted on the wall, most of which having their prices covered. When I acquired a paper menu I had trouble locating the taco section. And when I finally did I was mesmerized by the meat select (cabeza? ooooh, yeah), but somehow railroaded myself into a burrito con chili colorado because it came with rice and a salad. Stupid, fucking gringo. I did avail myself to the many freebie salsas, including a bowl which contained sliced onions and habaรƒยฑeros which nearly made my head explode from the heat.

I will return, hell it’s next to a CVS so I was able to peruse for women and personal hygiene prior to eating, but will make sure order tacos. And if I can’t manage this, it’ll be all Tilted Kilt all the time for my pre RPS dinner needs.

Congratulations to many of my RPS Flickrite friends who fared very well last night, including ITP-Reader John (aka “HamWithCam”) who took first place in the digital category last night.

Back To Back Pain
Same spot. Ow.

ITP Flickr Pic
I try hard to use my iPhone as a camera. I am not good at keeping it stable enough to get really sharp photographs using it, however. I can lay some of the blame on the fact that I was shivering some while waiting for the sun to rise.
How The iPhone Saw The Nikon's View Of The World
(damn, the photo looks much darker today than it did when I edited it last night.)

I hope you notice that I am also trying hard to post a photo everyday once again.

Probably No iOS Meeting Tonight
Man, I’m overwhelmed. Even though I didn’t allow myself the day off from work I’m seriously considering giving myself the night off from the monthly iOS Developers Meetup.

Hey dude, I was completely offline yesterday so I’ll comment here on what should have been yesterday.

Good to see all the ITP readers at the Wheelhopper Sunday. Thanks for coming out. That trail was long and difficult, but a good kick start to this years riding ๐Ÿ™‚

If you keep this up we may even talk you into doing BRAG.

  2. Barb says:

I’m so glad (is that the right word? ๐Ÿ˜‰ that you were confused by their menu, as I was baffled. But – was the burrito not good?

  3. I knew you were offline yesterday Bob. Thanks for the hospitality on Sunday. Hope you were able to get Laura’s tire replaced and go out for a motorcycle ride.

The burrito was good, though I made my plate way too spicy with that onion/habaรƒยฑero “slaw”. However, the adventurous side of me really wanted to try the tacos, as well as the $14.50 stone bowl of “things”, called a “molcajete” (no, I had to look that up) that I saw some “locals” ๐Ÿ˜‰ eating at another table.

  4. Oh yeah, I forgot this.

I’m calling shenanigans on Sheboygan Kenosha, Wisconsin. While I congratulate you for being the home town of the new Miss America, Laura Kaeppeler (who’s quite fetching and has a thing for Aaron Rogers), I think it’s fishy that she won the crown the night prior to the Packers loss. If I only had the time to investigate…

  5. Stacy Fox says:

Actually, all of us Wisconsin women have a thing for Aaron Rodgers. ๐Ÿ™‚

And so far, I’m very disappointed in your pancake count. I think you need to ad that to your Stats & Goals section (Pancakes eaten:) just to remind yourself of the task.

  6. Did you see/hear that she called Rogers out to give her a call? That gal has chutzpah! I guess that’s not that much of a surprise from someone who has been competing in beauty pageants her whole life.

That sounds like a fantastic idea, Stacy. I’m planning on getting pancakes somewhere this weekend. I nearly swerved off the road when I saw a Steak ‘n Shake ad for “All you can eat pancakes” on a Marta bus the other day — though if I go to Steak ‘n Shake I should be ordering steak and shake. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Barb says:

did she do the Discount double check when she said that? Now, that is a funny commercial.

and Bob – did you notice Paulie just didn’t answer on the BRAG comment?

  8. I haven’t seen the video, but I’d have even more respect for her if she did. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today is not the day you want me to make planning decisions. I’m in a good bit of pain and any answer I’d be giving to exercising inquiries today is “Sorry, no.”

  9. Steve says:

I have no idea who those people are on that comercial, which means it makes no sense.

I noticed Paulie didn’t answer your question either Bob. My problem is I’m off another week in June for Junior/Senior Nationals in Augusta.

A relaxing day on the farm yesterday. Tried to get my pony to work a little on the lunge line and for me not to fall down after going around and around. This may take some getting used to.

    Tonight- Sufferfest!!

  10. Barb says:

the new commercial with Clay Mathews in it too is even more fun.
Now Steve – you don’t know Aaron Rodgers? What kind of football fan are you?

  11. Stacy Fox says:

Oh yeah, the Clay Matthews one is great. There’s one with BJ Raji now too! These are definitely geared toward Packer fans and gotta tell ya: I’m thinking of changing insurance providers. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Grrrreat. Now I’m craving Steak & Shake. Which is pretty odd, considering I think I’ve been there once in my life.

  12. Steve says:

College. And I wouldn’t recognize any of them if they passed me on the street.

  13. bob says:

I did notice Paulie went right past the BRAG inquiry. I’ll have to ask again when the pain from Sunday subsides.

It was a nice long weekend for me full of M’s
    Monster trucks Saturday
    Mtn biking Sunday
    Motorcycle riding Monday

Good stuff, now i get to go spend some money on tires for Laura’s car.

I also like that Aaron Rogers has a sense of humor while doing those commercials.
    “so you are a dancer?”

  14. Barb says:

I guess since Peyton stopped doing silly commercials, they needed a new guy. I guess Drew Brees doesn’t want to make fun of himself?

  15. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Sadly this isn’t wheelhopper-related pain, at least not directly. Some of it stems from the extreme spiciness of last night’s meal (entirely my fault) as well as some of my genetic deficiencies.

  16. Stacy Fox says:

Drew Brees is too busy snoring away in NyQuil commercials to dance. ๐Ÿ™‚
