Do The Crime, Do The Time
I couldn’t resist Chinese food last night. The only stipulation to eating Chinese was that I had to exercise. I really was not in the mood to go out for a run last night, but did regardless. I started out doing a straight-out run and then remembered that my GPS watch could do interval training so I set my clock for nine-minute “runs” separated by two-minute “walks.” The results of this effort were okay, but I think that the next time I go out I will try going for a 8/2 setup instead of the 9/2 setup. That should work a lot better until I drop ten pounds and get my running legs back.
Just Call Me The Instigator
Yesterday I started a photostroll thread on the Hands On Photography Group over at Flickr. It’s been awhile since the group went out for a photoshoot followed by lunch so I thought that I would rattle the group’s cage and see what I could do.
Success seems to be mine as the group will be gathering this Saturday at 9am at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to shoot some pictures as well as shoot the shit. If you have a camera and $12 for admission I suggest that you come and join us.

How Long Will My Playoff Beard Last?
In honor of my Division Champion New York Mets I have started growing a playoff beard. Okay, truth be told this is really just the Winter beard that I have been growing the past few years to hide my mug. This year I started early because I was down in the dumps and I didn’t feel like shaving, and then I sliced the heck out of my chin when I was over in Auburn so I was giving my face a chance to heal.
Unfortunately for me my Mets have been losing pitchers left and right so I am not sure how deep they will make it into the playoffs. I am still hoping for another Subway Series.
Has iTunes Always Done This?
For the first time since loading iTunes version 7 onto my computer I decided to shuffle my song playback. When I selected the Shuffle icon the list of songs on the display changed to the order in which the songs were going to be played. I don’t recall this ever happening in previous versions of iTunes. As I recall the order on the screen stayed the same, and the pointer to the song being played jumped to the one eminating from the speakers.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I just completely insane?
No George’s For Me, Instead I’ll Be Holding Steady
In what has become a common occurrence I will be skipping the Wednesday night group run at George’s. This week in its place I will be attending the The Hold Steady concert at The EARL.
I don’t know much about the opening bands tonight so I’ll probably be heading home and charging up my point-and-shoot camera and grabbing some dinner before heading out. If you are trying to find me I’ll be the guy looking lovingly at the beer wishing that I was twenty pounds lighter so that I drink the quantities that I used to when I was slimmer.
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – confused
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Paul Westerberg — “Love You In The Fall”
Website Of The Day – Until I can provide you with a decent photoblog I will keep sprinkling in other photoblogs I like in this space. My Four Thirds one such photoblog.
Exercise (b)Log – running/walking, approximately 6 miles
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
the “party shuffle” feature on itunes has always displayed the list of upcoming songs. however, the most fun part is hitting the “refresh” button and trying to randomly create a list of songs that it looks like you might want to hear, which then begs the question: “why not just create a playlist and be done with it?”. i prefer the “random” or “shuffle” programs that don’t show me what’s coming, just a personal thing.
you should ditch itunes anyway.
btw, love the blog and i wish i could remain as faithful to mine as you are in updating yours…
Beans, what do you suggest in place of iTunes?
i personally use anapod explorer for ipod management and then winamp for playback on my pc. it’s just a personal preference but it gives me much more control over what i do with my ipod/music library (i.e. putting my entire music library on my work pc using my ipod as the go-between) and how i use it.
itunes just tries to do everything for you and i’m not such a big fan of that, but, like i said, it’s all personal preference.
Yep iTunes did that before. Not familiar with Anapod Explorer but I’d definitely say that iTunes is much easier to manage than WinAmp unless you want to custom skins, etc.
i’m really upset. i haven’t seen my mets hat in over four months.
If you find that someone has taken it, feel free to apply a smackdown. I’ve got your back. 🙂
9 in the morning? Are you on the motherfucking crack? No good photography ever gets done in the morning. Getting up early is bad for a photographer’s constitution. You should check out The Hot Carltons at Club 29 (the new, improved version of Jake’s Toadhouse) on October 27th. They rock.
Of course I’m on the crack Smoove D. Haven’t I made that abundantly obvious through my entries? I like taking shots in the morning, at least when I can figure out what the hell I am doing.
I’ll pencil in The Hot Carltons for that night. I haven’t been to Club 29 since it changed over. Thanks.
I was walking to work this morning listening to The Hold Steady and thought to myself “I need to see some live music”. Got to work, checked the schedule and I’ll be damned their in town. I’ll be there!
damn. suppose atlanta’s only consider it breast cancer awareness DAY, not month.
i think pink buildings are sillyrad, and should be encouraged…
workworkwork kept me from the earl tonight, how was it?
It’s 1:20am and I just got home — the show was really good!
Congratulations on getting past the mood thing and running anyway. And walk breaks rock – don’t listen to what anybody else says. They’re like stopping for water when you need it, they replenish your energy. Keep on running!
Thanks Susan. As you will read in today’s entry things didn’t go quite as well last night. 🙁
