Still Not Grand

I’m feeling a little better than I did yesterday and am keeping my fingers crossed that I feel 100% better by tonight as I’ll be dining at Woodfire Grill for ITP-Reader Betsy’s birthday tonight.

I’m Sleeping Too Much
If and when I finally return to “normal” I want to put the brakes on the oodles of sleep I’ve been getting recently (as in the past few months). I know people attest that sleep is good for you, but I have too much to do in the rest of my life to sleep it away. As an immediate benefit my morning commute will be immensely less stressful as well.

Thought about taking a shot of the sweet potatoes in my crockpot, but then I thought differently.

A Brief Update
The other day I groused about my ticket woes. Well, I’m glad to report that each has been rectified. I called Shakespeare Tavern and purchased a ticket for “A Christmas Carol.” And, I called the Horizon Theatre and was able to change my reservation to the 18th of December instead of the 17th — anyone “reminding” me of a previous commitment on the 18th will be shot. 😉

OK, so normally I don’t even notice your link of the day, but today’s caught my interest- and I challenge you to find much ukulele on “Got to get you into my life”.

    Glad you’re feeling better.

I personally like sleeping too much. I really like to get at least 8 hours, but I don’t ever seem to go to bed early enough to do that. I do manage to get 7 most nights.

Dec. 18th – may be a big day for Christmas parties…… but not ours – I don’t think we are going to try to fit one is this holiday season. We are thinking maybe a January or February preview of the garage-mahal party.

  3. Martha says:

How much sleep is too much? I’ve with Barb, I really need 7-8 hours, otherwise I’m grumpy and not at the top of my game. I haven’t slept well since before the marathon, even with my little blue pill. As I type this I’m considering going back to bed. Excessive sleeping is a symptom of depression.

Wish Betsy a happy birthday, I called her a couple of weeks ago but didn’t hear back from her.

  4. I used to run well on 5-6 hours (taking after my mother). I never used to go to sleep before 11pm and I’ve not seen 10:30pm for some time (except for last Friday).

I’d have nothing on my calendar for the 18th, but I’ve proven that’s no guarantee I’m free. Btw- I’m still deciding what I’m going to do with my second “The Santaland Diaries” ticket if I can’t secure a date for that night.

I’ll wish Betsy a happy birthday (which is actually tomorrow which is why I didn’t give her a ITP shout out) for you tonight. I don’t know what’s going on with her, she was noticeably absent at the campout — she better not stand us up tonight. 😉

  5. Steve says:

I have been managing really well on about 6 hours during the week, but I think that’s because I can generally catch a half hour each way on the bus. While it is little more than resting my eyes, it does help a bit.

    Happy Birthday Eve, Betsy!

  6. Betsy says:

Whoa children! Breaking the itp lurking to speak out. I’m not a stander upper by nature! A bit flaky, but not intentional….Btw, I never registered for the campout but at george’s one month ago said I’d consider going. Behold, my name was on the list. I did hear others confirmed with Jill (save me a space i’ll be there) and were no shows…

I got a missed call from Martha last week but no message 🙁 My apologies for not responding miss Martha…and if you did leave a message, sorry I didn’t get it. You will be hearing from me, that’s all I’ll say. You have been warned.

I am not going to be a no show on my own birthday. Especially not for woodfire grill.

  7. Hehe, I didn’t think you’d be checking in until your actual birthday. 😀

I tease, I tease! I said you were noticeably absent. You were not the only one who we joked about not being there, even though none of them actually committed to being there.

Since you organized tonight’s Woodfire Grill outing I was fairly certain that you’ll be in attendance. I’ve just eaten a large pot-luck lunch, but bet your bottom dollar (what does that mean?) that I’ll be ready for some chow tonight.

Martha, you must have called when Reese was sleeping. Reese normally answers all my calls because I know when to call.

  8. Barb says:

hey Betsy – happy birthday early & have a great dinner at Woodfire Grill.
I’ve been told it is quite tasty. But you know me, it is ITP, I don’t get out to eat down that way very often, so I don’t know from personal experience.

I always love when you say – “hmmm, that could be fun” then all the sudden everyone thinks you have committed to going somewhere. I totally understand.

it has turned into a beautiful day outside, I did not want to come back from my lunch break.

  9. The real “problem” was that there was a list of people who were supposedly coming. That’s why I was surprised when I arrived and about half of the list wasn’t in camp. 🙂 It just meant that I had to step up and do more to help kill the keg. Which. I. Did!!! 🙂

  10. Steve says:

    You’re such a giver!!

  11. Lisa says:

Hope you will be ready to share your gift over Thanksgiving weekend. We are bringing the keg of Sweetwater 420 that Randy’s ex-coworkers gave him in honor of his being laid-off. What a kind crew!! It may be the last time we get to drink anything but PBR if he does not get a new job soon 🙂

  12. For you I will suffer. Heck, I’ll even look the other way as it will violate the diet (yes, you read that right) that I will be starting tomorrow. Stupid time to start dieting? Well, I have a business trip mid-December for which I want to be five pounds lighter.
