I should not have been surprised to receive some bad news via telephone yesterday. (Sorry, I won’t provide details on this matter here) After all, we are still in September 2010. If I still used a paper calendar I’d take the sheet for this month, pass it through a shredder, and then set the shredded pieces on fire.
Life Is A Series Of Choices
Last night I decided to join some coworkers for an after-work beverage at Taco Mac. I had laundry to do last night, and this being my last available night to do so, I was sticking to my guns that it would get done. One beer turned in to two beers. Then, the unthinkable happened. Upon my inquiry about the fancy Warsteiner glass boot steins displayed on the bar we were told that they were $25 and came filled with a liter of Warsteiner — and then everyone but me ordered one! With my cohorts now consuming a liter of beer each I decided to stick around and see how this turned out.
I left Taco Mac around 9pm, tired, and not in the mood to go to a laundromat. So today I will do my laundry…

Here are three (of the five total — two people ordered another!) Warsteiner glass boot steins.
My beer is closest, at the bottom, a mere pint of beer.
Hey, Mashlanta Is Tonight
I have a $30 ticket for tonight’s Mashlanta networking party. I was really looking forward to going to this, but because I chose to play trivia on Tuesday night, and I chose to sit a Taco Mac last night, and I won’t have the time to do it tomorrow night, and my flight is at 8:30am on Saturday morning, I will have to skip the party. I have no one but myself to blame however.
If you are attending the Mashlanta party please let me know how it was by leaving a comment tomorrow.

Congratulations on NOT falling to temptation and drinking a liter of beer just for the very cool glass.
Sad news from the cycling world as Alberto Contador tested positive during the TdF. And before anyone asks-
I don’t know why it took so long..
I don’t understand why a fraction (1/400) of the normal threshold of a banned substance still gets a positive.
It doesn’t make sense to me.

Thanks. Considering I just set up payments for a very expensive Visa bill this month (think “transmission repair while renting hotel rooms for a week”) the $25 was more than I cared to spend for one, rather large, beer. Besides, that would only count as one beer toward my goal of reaching #125 this year. 😉
Cycling continues to be a mess. Is there a female tour? Certainly they wouldn’t cheat (as much) and I’d much rather see them in cycling kits.
In reading the VeloNews, the better explaination is the faint amount could have come from the meat he had eaten, which later made him sick. Apparently they are continuing to investigate, but have provisionally suspended him.
There used to be a female tour, but I don’t believe they are doing it any longer.
If I choose to tell Allan about that boot – I KNOW he will want one.
And – did you know over at Cheeseburger In Paradise instead of pitchers they have this big tube of beer with a spigot at the bottom to dispense? It is pretty cool, and they put this cooler thing in it so the beer doesn’t get warm (or so they say). Might have to try it someday.
Wow – now Alberto is in trouble…….. seems the only one they can never catch is Lance.
Don’t head to the Perimeter Taco Mac if Allan wants one, I really believe that my table bought the last five they had on hand. They even took down the display.
I’ve only been in Cheeseburger in Paradise twice. I’m not a big Jimmy Buffet fan so the concept has little appeal to me.
Outback has a pretty decent bar, and a different crowd from Taco Mac so we sometimes end up there.
I was told that the new Tilted Kilt (formerly Max & Erma’s) has opened. I generally approve of Tilted Kilt’s hiring practice so I might have to check it out soon.
oh good – last thing we really need is a big glass boot to find a spot for.
They had football on the TVs Saturday when we were there, so I didn’t hear any Buffett, but I totally understand. I did have an really good margarita there.
I met some guy from the UK that was training at Outback that same night, I didn’t realize that Outback has expanded globally.
I’m sure you would really enjoy the scenery at the Tilted Kilt – I am shocked you haven’t been there yet.
Looks like it may be a painting party kind of day at the Garage-mahal Saturday, We are trying to decide if we should try to spray it (never done that) or just roll it the way we know how.
I’ve been to a Tilted Kilt on Cobb Parkway, and I think the one near my office *just* opened.
The only reason that I knew Outback had gone international was because one of the bartenders at the one near the office had told us she’d been to Dubai (if I remember correctly) for the opening of one there.
You know, I actually like doing laundry. If you ever look into hiring it out, let me know, my boyfriend is Asian, that’s got to count for something 🙂 .
Nick is back so I think I know what I’ll be having for dinner tonight while I wash all the cat/dog hair covered stuff in my house.
Did you hear that loud crack of thunder at around 2am? Scared the crap out of me, it didn’t knock the power out right then, but by the time I left for work the house was dark, I need to call and check on it after my meeting..
Today is the 50th anniversary of the Flintstones, check out the Google Doodle, I didn’t get it at first…yaba daba doo!!!
I either woke just before the thunder or as it started and it startled me. Then I thought “Rain? Nobody fucking predicted rain!” and then managed to go back to sleep.
Painting party?? I have an airless sprayer (I’ve never tried) and lots of rollers and sticks.
Woke last night to the sound of thunder.
How far off, I sat and wondered.
Started humming a song from 1962.
Ain’t it funny how the night moves..
Steve -you are a glutton for punishment if you want to help paint – but at least there is no furniture or anything in the way……… don’t you have Highland Games planning? (and thanks for the Bob Seger stuck in my head now)
A guy here at work brought me a Wagner Power Painter to borrow……. I don’t know if I ever tried one back in the early 90s when I worked for Sherwin Williams. And – how much paint (& primer, or do we use that new paint with primer) do we need? I know, math skills will be needed. Hopefully the drywall guys will finish the sanding & it will be ready to go.
It rained like hell in Marietta, but I don’t remember and thunder, but storms rarely wake me.
Bob Seeger at no extra charge…
The Highland Games start ramping up next weekend, so this Saturday is still available, unless Debbie has another plan!!
We also have the Wagner Power Painter, so it might be interesting to try it out- perfect situation, new construction.
How much paint and primer for new sheetrock? Sounds like a job for the Google.
Sounds like a question for someone named “Primer”. Oh, wait…
