I’m registered to camp this weekend at Black Rock Mountain state park. Unfortunately the rain has arrived and is pretty much predicted to remain until Sunday. Ugh.
Another Successful Laundry Night
WooHoo!
Last night I performed my weekly routine of doing laundry and eating dinner at Lee’s Bakery. The night was uneventful as always, and once again laundry consumed the lion’s share of my evening.
Next week I’m thinking of shaking things up enough by trying out a new laundromat so that I can eat again at a Mexican tortas restaurant I discovered this week.

This is another shot taken last Sunday.
While none of my photos came out as sharp, or as with as little noise as I desired, I do like the way that the sun is illuminating the car in this shot.
Blame Canada
Tonight I’ll be attending the annual silent auction put on by Atlanta Photography Exhibit. Unlike last year I decided not to donate a print for auction. It’s not that I don’t believe in the cause, but I just didn’t want to give away another one of my prints.
Tonight’s silent auction is being held at a Buckhead bar/restaurant called Saskatoon, which most of you will recognize as one of the many fun-to-pronounce Canadian city names. The auction starts at 7pm, if your schedule permits you should come out and say hello.

If I could pick a home town, I’ve always said it would be Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. If you can spell that as a kid, you can spell anything.
From looking it up on the map, I’m wondering if it is in the location where Spondivits tried opening a Buckhead location that failed.
Since you mentioned mexican food, I think I’ll make some enchiladas tonight, I’ve got a couple avocados I need to use, so I can make some guac.
I suppose that I should apologize for the short post today. I have some serious bugs with my code that require my attention this morning.
Saskatoon is one of my favorite Canadian city names as well. 🙂
And this just in… Let’s have a moment of silence for Corey Haim, dead at 38. And here I thought that Corey Feldman would beat him to the grave…
SSAAAAAAAAASSSKKAAAAAATTOOOOOOOOOOOOONN!!
I feel better already.

What’s the torta place? I like Las Tortas Locas, it’s not really ‘healthy’ but I may stop there in the next week when I get my oil changed. Just need to wait for it to stop raining and the toe to get better.
I tried to check out the website for Saskatoon but its blocked by the web nanny here at work.
It is Las Tortas Loca. You’ve been holding out on us, Martha! I never said it was healthy (what good Mexican food is?). 🙂
There is a laundromat at the end of that little set of stores. I “found” Las Tortas Loca the day I dropped my car off at Lam’s.
My coworker and I were the only non-Latinos in the place. Love it!
okay Martha – when I get back from CA next week, I’ll need to get my oil changed sometime soon – looks like we have a destination…….
I know Paulie, it’s just I try to limit myself to one or two ‘unhealthy’ meals a week, so it takes awhile for places to move up in the rotation. I can’t believe you hadn’t been there, if I thought I knew of a place before you did I’d be telling everyone. I’ve been eating there for years. Before I starting working here I would always stop by there on the way home from any hash that ended at Robin’s.
and yes, English is a little scarce there…I’m never really sure I’m getting what I ordered but what’s the worse that can happen? I took Jerry there one day, since he sort of looks like he fits in 😉
Barb it’s a date. Have a good trip, when are you leaving?
Also Barb, after spending the last 24 hours looking at my toe, I’ve realized I’m in desperate need of a pedi…of course that is also going to have to wait awhile but I’d be up for that in the next couple of weeks as well.
We leave fairly early on friday morning – so we can get a half day in of tastings, then 2 full days on the weekend.
By Monday we will be ready to pub crawl & drink beers in San Fran.
Fly home Tuesday……… I used frequent flyer miles for this & decided a 5 hour direct flight deserved first class seats (plus, it is sort of, kind of Allan’s birthday trip) I can’t wait, it’s been forever since I’ve flown first class.
Pedicure……. I’m ready whenever your toes are up for it.
Sounds like fun, so jealous.
Do you think I can get a discount since I’ll only have 8 or 9 toe nails to paint?
Well I’m not going to make it to Black Rock, 1300 miles last week, in the car, was all I could take. Plus the weather doesn’t look great and my toe would make hiking pretty sucky…
I only might make it to Black Rock for Saturday if the weather prediction holds up. I hate to waste $50 and further cement my reputation for skipping / leaving hash campouts early, but I really don’t enjoy sitting around in the rain when there are so many other things I need to do.
Camping in the rain SUCKS…… so Paulie, I totally don’t blame you if you decide not to go. Especially since there isn’t even a covered shelter to hang out under. I know there is that little house thing, but everyone can’t fit in there.
