Did you feel that rumbling yesterday? That was caused by my getting on the trainer for the first time in ages. Let the BRAG training begin!

  1. While the white stuff was pretty to look at the past few days, I’m ready for it to all melt today so that we can return to a “normal” way of life in the Atlanta area.

    Wordle in 4,

A pretty quiet weekend. Waffle House and groceries on Saturday. A bit of riding around to see what was left of the snow. We noticed a “line” where the snow significantly increased- at least increased from the little we got.

Debbie gave me a pass Sunday and while she went to her family’s Christmas white elephant dirty Santa, I stayed home and did chores.

Rode both Saturday and Sunday on the trainer. I’ve signed up for “Boarder Wars” edition #4, though they aren’t calling it that anymore. Mid February, so have to be ready.

Sunny areas really melted Sunday – but we’ve still got plenty of snow spots still here & there.

Sloppy hike at Johnson Ferry North Saturday – then a stop at Mutation Brewery after.

Sunday was Bob’s birthday gathering at the new Voodoo Brewery in Roswell. Beers were good, didn’t realize the beer I chose (that I really liked) was 9.5% – on the 2nd one I’m like – why am I feeling buzzed already? So I looked at the menu. 😉

On the way home stopped at another new place – Roswell Junction. Its an old church property they have made into a food court/bar/music venue. It looks pretty interesting, we will go back again -but I just wonder how loud it is in there with a band playing.

    • Would have liked to celebrate the day of Bob’s birth, but Roswell is too far for me in decent weather, and was out of the question yesterday even though things were/are improving. Hope all had a fun time.

Roads were totally fine yesterday – just for your info.
People were out driving all over hell on Saturday – so by Sunday, there wasn’t a spec of ice left on the roads.

Sorry you missed it – it was a fun group.

Same! I was wondering the same and noticed mine was 11.2%!

  4. Just filled four 1-gallon jugs with snowmelt water. This will be useful for watering plants and plant starts in the near future.

Also managed to strain a rib cage muscle this morning. Old age really sucks.

And, I intended to make a crockpot Lima bean cassoulet today, but stupid me forgot to soak the beans overnight. Will do tonight, so now you know what I will be eating for dinner tomorrow…

Although I had to work a fair amount on Friday it still felt like a three-day weekend. We ended up losing power at 6:00 pm on Friday and it didn’t come on again until about 2:00 pm on Saturday. When the thermostat came back online it registered 51 degrees in the house. Saturday we went to Moe’s & Joe’s for food and to charge our phones.

Luckily the power came back on in time to watch football on Saturday. Yesterday we watched aaaaallllll the footballsing and I made pigs-in-blankets and nachos.

The power went out on Friday while we were in the middle of watching the movie It Ends With Us, which is getting all the controversy right now. Kevin informed me that he had no desire to continue watching it once the power came back. LOL!

    • Whoa, that’s quite the outage; mine went out very briefly on Friday night. On Saturday morning I was reminded that the new floor lamp I purchased for jigsaw puzzles and reading has a peculiar design, it turns on when you plug it in. Subsequently it also is on by default when the power goes out and returns, so it was shining brightly on Saturday morning. Harrumph.

      • Jenka says:

Yeah, the only thing that was okay about it was that the power DIDN’T come back on in the middle of the night and wake us up with all the lights and TV. Nah — I would’ve been okay with that if it meant the heat came back on. 🙂

    • Barb says:

I watched the movie before the controversy came out. It was ok.

did I tell you I finally finished Kevin can f*ck himself. What a weirdly interesting TV show.

We watched the Amy Winehouse movie – Back to Black this weekend (in between some football) It was interesting enough, but I guess since she died at 27, there wasn’t that much to be told?

      • Jenka says:

And the Worcester/Central MA setting was really authentic in Kevin Can Fuck Himself, that’s really how it looks and those triple decker houses they live in are authentic, too.

  6. Three days later than almost everyone else, and before the last vestiges depart, I just made and threw my first snowball.
