Hoping to bake a loaf of bread today, but it’s not looking good as my dough didn’t appear to rise at all overnight. I know my yeast was relatively new, and used well before its expiration date. I also know that my liquid didn’t kill the yeast because it wasn’t hot. Baking bread is such a struggle for me.
Just bake it anyway, I bet it’ll still taste good.

Games meeting last night was as boring as expected. Our numbers were off by 24% from last year (a banner year) and following a major hurricane that affected some of our base. We still made our charitables and I am no longer VP!! 🙂
I think the Mazda is having a transmission issue. Upon arriving at the office yesterday, a smell of “burnt” was around the car. I noticed last night it was having trouble maintaining speed at times. Wasn’t there a Mazda dealer in Doraville? No longer…

Hi Steve!! All is well here. Just muddling through the holidays.
Aaaand, we are back to freezing cold. Very raw out there this morning, more like fall!
We went to Ticonderoga Club last night, inside Krog Street Market. They have a fried clams appetizer that is pretty close to authentic. I dunno, I like that place but it has some irritations. The service is very good but they do it in such a self-conscious way that it kind of ruins it.
Today we are having our Holiday Lunch, which is always a very nice affair.
speaking of Krog Street Market – we need to have a Fred Meat & Bread dinner meetup!
I’ve been thinking a cheesesteak sounds good some day.
I’m happy to host a pre-cheesesteak drink at my apartment! Krog Street Market .7 miles from me, basically an easy walk down the Beltline.
That’s an excellent idea – but – let’s do it on a nicer day than today.

I feel like I hit the lottery – Kristina & I found a Mexican lunch special, with a drink, for $8.99. Have not found very many places anymore that have a lunch special for less than $10.

Speedy with beans? I love how Mexican restaurants all have the same menu. I was at one new to me recently, and had a moment of mental freeze, as in what do I want, when #11 popped into my head. Their #11 is the same as it ever was everywhere else.
you & I order the same – Speedy with beans – and #11 – that’s amazing.
But -the lunch specials were not the usual – I got chicken soup & 2 tacos – there was no Speedy!!!
What does “speedy with beans” mean?
Do you never get cheap Mexican? At a place that starts El, La, Los, ______ .
Anyway – the classic lunch special – Speedy Gonzales – an enchilada, a taco & either rice or beans.
