Werder Bremen 0
Bayern Munich 5
Not only does this loss to the “Patriots of the Bundesliga” disappoint me, but the game was also played in Bremen, inexplicably Werder Bremen had zero shots on net, and a five goal differential may prove to be costly at the end of the season.
I’d forgotten how much I hate malls, or people, or people in malls. Lenox Mall was busy on Saturday and my hope that I could pop into the Apple Store ahead of my 2pm appointment was quickly squashed. I nearly asked about rescheduling my appointment to yesterday afternoon, but since I was already there… The time spent at the mall also made it impossible for me to check out the cheese shop Barb told me about prior to meeting my drinking buddies at Sweetwater Brewing.
I was going to go for a morning bike ride yesterday, but it’s been so long since I bought a new iPhone that I also forgot how much work I had to do in order to set one up— Frustration unlocked! For some reason I had to reboot my router for it to recognize the password when I attempted to log into it. On the iPhone I had to log into all of my email accounts (which are still not syncing correctly now), I had to add more iCloud storage to my account in order to back up the new iPhone, I had to finagle with the messaging app because I could no longer send/receive messages using my iPad via my cellphone number, I had to log into many apps which I use daily. The new iPhone also uses a USB-C connection and comes with a cable that has USB-C on both ends, which is incompatible with the USB-A connections I have in all my charging stations— Converters ordered!
Yesterday I had to do something I never expected, save a bird entangled in bird netting. I have had this netting draped over a dead tree trunk for some time, in an effort to keep it from become a tangled mess. Never in my wildest dreams/nightmares did I expect to see a small woodpecker caught in it. Fortunately the bird was small so I was able to hold it with one hand as I attempted to cut the plastic netting off of it. The bird was naturally unsure of my attentions and tried to escape and bite numerous times. I’m not certain that I was 100% successful, but the bird scampered away from me and then flew up to another tree, far out of my reach. God’s speed little one, I hope that WLF is not the cause of an untimely death.
Wordle: five, my starter was CHORE
Connections: three mistakes, X > X > X > Yellow > Purple > Green > Blue
Wordle in 5 starting with PLANT. I thought I had it in 3 but chose the wrong last letter and then again in 4. Connections: X, X, X, Y, G, P, B. Would not have gotten blue. Strands was a breeze.
Rocco went home yesterday. Now it’s all quiet in the house. I did manage to do laundry, get groceries and clean the house yesterday. Rode the bike for 68 miles on Saturday. I forgot how beautiful is on the backroads of Cartersville. I need to ride out there more often. It did get rather hot during the ride. Needless to say, I didn’t manage my electrolytes very well. Spoke with Cathy (4-inch) yesterday. Bob’s brother passed away over the week-end. (Not our Bob but Cathy’s Bob).
Your Wordle sounds familiar to mine…
Good on you for riding!
Wordle in 3.
Let’s see… rode the scooter to the Senoia Car Show where an old friend always shows his Buick GS Stage 2. There were a couple of BMW Isetta’s which are really cute curiosities. I still look for someone to have the first car I remember- a ’59 or ’60 Impala station wagon. It had the last version of “wings” on the tail. Ours was dark green with a white top. Dad said he got many compliments on it.
Dinner with Meg to pick up the other key for my car and to catch up on Ella starting college. She’s found a group of like nerds and she’s loving it. Good for her.
A bike ride yesterday, then some yard chores. By the time I picked up Debbie and brought her home, it was past 11 and I was whooped.

Sounds like a good weekend.
Also seems as if you guessed, or knew, the correct final letter today. Hehehe
I really want to ride more, but continue to find ways to get out of doing so. Contemplating bringing the ride with me on my journey north, but will wait to start looming at weather forecasts and whatnot before I make a decision.
new phone set up – frustration!!! Try changing from 1 Apple ID to a new Apple ID too – that adds a crazy new level of problems.
Took me probably almost a week to get everything working.
Make sure you get a usb-c DATA cable to make Apple Carplay work – won’t work with just a charging cable. (Allan has plenty of USB-C cords – so I just grabbed one for the car)
I don’t have CarPlay, so less of an issue. But good to know.
we got up at 0430 for our 0600am flight –
Got back to ATL – the Sky Priority tags worked on the checked bags – they were some of the 1st out on the conveyor – we landed in T terminal – its soooo close to baggage.
Took Marta to West End – waled to the firehouse & got the car.
Red Eyed Mule stop on the way home. Breakfast biscuit hit the spot.
I did basically nothing all day – Allan got a nap, I couldn’t fall asleep, so I watched football & crap I had DVR’d all day.
Tonight is MASSAGE NIGHT – finally.
I know that was a long 10 days… glad to be home, I’m sure.
Maybe some TC on Thursday? Debbie’s birthday.
Thursday night is open – we can eat there – or the heat is supposed to break – we can always get it to go & eat ont eh deck. (we don’t have to decide that now)
Let me see what HRH would like to do.
Glad everything went alright.
When I returned it didn’t matter when my luggage was because it took me forever to do the long walk from E Terminal to F Terminal where the luggage belt was.
that walk from E to customs – then to baggage is CRAZY long. We came in at F when we landed, so we missed the extra “mile” walk.
Been doing good things and stupid things this morning.
Good things are updating OS on my Mac, and using my chipper shredder to chew up small branches into walkway mulch.
Stupid thing was cutting the inside of my mouth while eating breakfast; nothing major, just annoyed at myself.
I bit my inside cheek I don’t know how long ago – and it still bugs me
Connections –
X – yellow – green – X – purple – blue.
I had an idea on the blue category, but wasn’t sure – so left it for last.
