So I Suppose This Will Be The Year Of The Flood?

I know. “We need the rain.” I’ve heard that each and every time that I’ve mentioned how tired I am of this rain. I’m not buying the notion that we are out of the drought that has plagued us for the past few years. I’d venture to guess that I’d still see red shoreline around Georgia’s lakes. I’m ready for a break from the wet. A few days of sunshine, preferably on the weekend, during which I can look at the mess that I call a yard — as I drive away.

Argh, Now What Do I Do?
A slot had opened up so I was able to sign up for this weekend’s kickboxing photography workshop. Last night while attending a meeting of Atlanta’s MetBlogs writers I was chatting with Maigh, who somehow also finds time to work with the organization putting on the workshop, when she informed me that the workshop had been rescheduled for Saturday instead of Sunday. It seems as if the competition didn’t receive as many participants as they had anticipated, so they’ve scaled the event back to one day instead of two.

I’m free Saturday morning, but I was planning on using that time to be productive in other areas prior to heading to Sandy Springs to join an Atlanta Flickr social happening at 4pm at Five Seasons Brewery. A part of me feels I should just go with the flow and make the changes needed to attend, while a part of me feels that I should ask for my money back since the workshop for which I signed up was scheduled for Sunday morning and changing the date at the last moment is not acceptable for me.

Decisions, decisions.

Even though I was awakened by a phone call at 11:30pm and again by the heavy rains about 1:30am I am well rested this morning. Admittedly not of sound mind, however. I was just about to use the photo I used in yesterday’s blog post again.

The last Atlanta Grid Project stroll occurred in a part of town in which I laid hash a long time ago. We met up at the new CVS which was once the location of a Value Village near where Marietta Boulevard intersects with Bolton Road.

It's No Longer Time To Eat At Roma

I’m not sure if Roma’s was ever open in the many years that I’ve been going to that part of town. Regardless, I’ve always loved the structure, and made sure to snap a few shots of it while roaming the grid.

RealiTV: Where’s My Chopping Block?
Was there no The Chopping Block on the telly last night? Why the hell not? I checked my DVR this morning and alas there was no episode to play as I pound this blog post out. Dangen!

Wait! I just saw on Hulu that there was an episode of The Chopping Block last night. WTF? Why didn’t my DVR record it?

Tonight: Neko Case at Variety Playhouse
I’ll be there. Although now that I look at the Sierra Nevada t-shirt and baggy jeans that I’ve decided to wear today I may swing past the house first and wrangle a change of clothes. No sense looking like a fifteen-year-old douche every time go out…

Was the phone call at 11:30 actually for you, or a wrong number?

Go to the photo thing saturday morning, just don’t stay all day? You seems to be happier after you’ve taken some pics, and especially if you are going to a flickr thing later, you will have current shots to talk about.

  2. The phone call was for me. Normally I don’t go to bed until late, so I was not perturbed. It just so happened last night that I had a wee bit to drink early in the evening so as soon as my head hit the pillow, I’m guessing around 9:30pm, I went to sleep. When the phone rang I had no idea what time it was.

I’m thinking of doing just that, however I don’t want to feel rushed. One good thing about the location of the workshop is that it’s on Ponce so I it’s “sorta” on the way to Sandy Springs.

Ah, well look on the bright side, you can now go running on Sunday 😉

Once I was able to get to sleep (after 45 minutes of crying puppies) I was out cold, I didn’t hear any of the storm that seemed to wake up everyone else.

So I’m ready for something a little different in the ‘workout arena’. I really need to work on my abs, but I’m thinking nothing short of lipo is going to work. Anyone have a suggestion? The next boot camp isn’t for 3 more weeks.

PS I would kill to look like I was 15

I’ve just been informed by ITP-Reader Betsy that NBC has cancelled The Chopping Block after only three episodes. Shit that was fast!

Looks like Hulu time from here on out.

Hey Paul – this is the one year anniversary of making my bed every day! woohoo. Yesterday was your one year anniversary. Yay us and Yay for made beds.

  6. Wow! A year!?! It really doesn’t seem like a year has passed since we started.

    Hurrah for us!!! 🙂
