Yesterday was started with a sweet breakfast, followed by a very educational and entertaining journey around the Belgium World of Beer. While doing the tour we were able to go into the lower level which was a historical tour of the structures which occupied the area centuries ago, answering all of my questions I had about Brussels.

Dateline: Bruges (Brugge)
After a short delay in train travel, we arrived in Bruges in time to check into our hotel and go to an early dinner. I had Flemish stew, beef cooked in a beer, which was fine if not a bit boring. The only negative for the meal was the feeling of being taken advantage of by the waitress who played the peer pressure game be asking us if we wanted to add a 15%, or 20% tip. Unfortunately, we let her win the game even though we all knew the gratuity was included in the price of the meals.

Sal and Allan climbed the famous belfry as Barb and I (the painful hip club) sat and did some people watching.

It was an early night, I may have fallen asleep by 8:45pm.

The BRAG journey starts today. We don’t leave Bruges today, instead today is a meet and greet, walking tour, bike fitting, and canal boat check-in.

Wordle: four, my starter was FLOUR

Wordle in 4. First guess was a whiff and second guess got all but the first letter correct!

A day of boring meeting yesterday which also extends into today. I had hoped to only work a half day today, then some west coast person scheduled a meeting from 4 to 5!

Last night, I tinkered with a wonky weed eater. After replacing the bad fuel, I was able to get it running, then F’d the carb settings while trying to tune it. After some Youtube training, I’ll try again today.

Bruges, barge, bike fit, beer… have fun!

I have always wanted to go to Bruges (since the movie came out, so 20 years?) but I have never made it, so I am totally living vicariously through the pics. I did spent a couple of days in Antwerp and Brussels a few years ago, Antwerp is delightful.

Now that we have Finn we are back to The Amazing Race. We watched two episodes last night. Every episode this season is an hour and a half, so it is a real time commitment!

Jenka- maybe there will be an accordion guy in Brussels??

Sorry for being a slacker today- totally forgot to comment here.
We’ve walked at least 9 miles today.
Did laundry this morning, google translate sort of helped with the machines.
I think it cost around 20€.

  4. Hello from our barge! We’ve had a long day including visiting the brewery that ships its beer in a long pipe to its bottling staying.

Steve and I are so booooooored without you guys!

I am especially interested in seeing pics of the barge.
