Remembering the days when I felt good, and ride my bike; they seem so long ago. A late smattering of rain combined with apathy kept me from riding last night. Instead I made a Kroger run, forgetting to check for Turkey as Barb requested.
Wordle: three, my starter was INEPT
Connections: perfect, Green > Blue > Purple > Yellow
Wordle in 4 with a complete whiff on my starter.
My pre-meeting meeting at Iron Horse in Norcross was scuttled when I couldn’t find a place to park. A movie shoot had overtaken most of downtown and the public lot was filled with trailers. I needed to run an errand, so I didn’t fight hard.
Once home, I thought a hot tub soak would be nice. Stepped outside, and despite being able to see stars around the clouds, had to grab the umbrella as it was spitting rain. (yes, I will sit in the hot tub with an umbrella)
WFH today as the bank has some kind of function happening. The cafeteria will be closed, they moved out all the tables and were setting up a P/A there yesterday afternoon. No idea…

I need to get some exercise in.
Oh yeah, thanks to my Kroger run I am flush with toilet paper again!
Pun completely intended. 😉
You a funny boy.
Back from the trails of NC/TN. I did not think of doing any of the word games or look at Inside the Perimeter once. Other than posting pics to FB, it was nice to disconnect from all the technology. Had great weather and some spectacular views other than yesterday that brought spitting fog and hellacious winds. I’ll take that any day over dealing with traffic and noise.
Need to clean up all the backpacking gear and start gathering all the BRAG camping gear. It’s approaching rapidly. Will have to get in touch with Allan to see if my bike is ready to go and how much I owe him.
An old boss from 25 years ago texted last night and wants to get together to catch up. Said it took him 25 years to finally find someone almost as good as me. :). That was nice to hear.
Hope everyone has a nice Wednesday. Off to work I go.
Sal, Lurker/David missed you so much he quit the blog!
What?
Read yesterday’s blog, Sal.
I have started BRAG planning, though I am completely distracted at the moment with trying to get things ready to have a couple of freiende stay over at the end of the month.
Sally, your pics were GORGEOUS. I am not an outdoors person but they made me want to drive to there. 🙂
Thanks! Had some amazing views!!
RIP Compost Stir Stick (2020-2024). You served WLF well, and will be very hard to replace.
And five minutes after its demise I needed it, reached for it, only then to remember it has broken.
Testing from my phone- my computer is giving me an error when posting.
Because your computer is telling you to get to work!!!
probably true
Guess my computer isn’t playing today
I actually spent some time looking at hotels in Amsterdam yesterday for Sunday when we arrive. I think I may have found one that looks nice & not super expensive.
I compared prices using the Delta Stays website to see about getting more FF (& MQD) miles, but their prices are too much higher.
Today I guess I should start on Brussels.
Sounds good! Guess I should think about paying the second half of the trip.
Yeah, I guess I need to give Franklin the second $1750 soon.
I paid my $1750 – but we didn’t get an email for Allan’s. Guess I need to email Franklin & Stephanie
This is a friendly reminder that mosquito season has begun. You should protect yourself against those motherfuckers cause they love to bite.
blue – green – yellow – purple
and – better than that – Wordle in 2!!!!
see if you get this one today Paul –
Why are Sundays stronger than Wednesdays? …
Because Wednesday is a week day. 🙂
Oy!
I feel huge today, like a sponge that had absorbed as much water as it possibly could.
On a positive note, WLF is looking okay today.
I just witnessed two woodpeckers fighting, or fucking. It’s been so long since I’ve done either it’s hard for me to distinguish between the two.
The Giro train (painted pink, of course) is rolling alongside the peloton in the last 10km. It’s got to be a great view!
Nice!
I’ve decided to give Peacock my money again for another annual subscription. At least this way I will see some of the TdF.
How much is Peacock for a year? Ours is rolled up in our Comcast bill so I don’t know.
Since I pay for Peacock Premium (or whatever they call it) with limited ads (mostly in sports), it’s $120/annually.
We went to Ocean Wave for Date Night last night. It was funny because the roads were eerily clear all over Va-Hi but the restaurant was PACKED. Then we watched the first episode of season 3 of The Morning Show. This season appears to be better!
I’m making a new recipe for white chicken chili in the crockpot today. I used Penzey’s southwest seasoning which I hope is not spicy, or Finn won’t eat it! Probably shouldn’t be making a new recipe when he’s around, but oh well.
way to be daring Jenka!!!!
I AM LIVING ON THE EDGE!
in laws have started their drive to Colorado.
I told Mary to share her location with me on Find My – she said “I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck”
So I replied with – “when you are stuck in a ditch for days – you can’t blame me.”
It worked, she is now sharing her location with me.
Ha. Do people get stuck in ditches for days anymore?
she keeps talking about the tornado weather, etc. – they have delayed the trip here & there.
So – I thought I’d guilt trip her.
Well then she brought it on herself. 😉
Why are they going to Colorado? Just for funsies?
they built a lake house in Heeney, CO (on the Green Mtn Reservoir) over the last few years.
Mary’s sister lives there full time.
Not sure what they are doing, but I’m sure there’s some fine tuning still, painting, or whatever that still needs to be done.
Is that the house by Master Bait and Tackle?
it is, it is. Good memory Steve
I always remember that because of the punny store name, and the fact that the town name is a homophone for some of my cousins’ last name.
C’mon, Barb!! How could I ever forget Mater bait and Tackle!! We went right by it on (whatever they called the tour of Colorado!)
I totally forgot the race went thru Heeney. So yes – you should remember that.
Tonight’s pizza and salad night at Betsy’s will bring our viewing of Succession to a close.
I intended to make a overnight trip today, but given all that I have going on at the ITP Estate and the state of my bank account, I pulled the plug on the idea.
After a short walk during which I picked up trash, some of it utterly disgusting, I am sitting in the shade, drinking water, and watching the small birds out looking for food
