I bought myself a new OXO salad spinner at Target yesterday. I broke the one I had for years while trying to dry some WLF romaine lettuce on Wednesday.

I spent a lot of time above the perimeter yesterday, doing some shopping, drinking a beer, and then ending my night at Barb’s and Allan’s, who prepared a lovely Mexican dinner with margaritas.

Wordle: four, my starter was NAKED
Connections: perfect, Green > Yellow > Purple > Blue

  1. Steve says:

Wordle in 3 with TREAD as a starting word and little help.

  2. Sprinklers ran this morning, and it’s damp. Therefore no surprise that I found five small slugs working their way around WLF. Sadly it was their last day alive because they destroy plants. Pity the Wee Little Frogs didn’t get to them first.

I was having an Excel issue yesterday and thought, “who could possibly help me with this?” And David came to my rescue in a big way! I haven’t got it quite yet, but it’s much closer to a resolution. Thank you, sir!

    • David says:

It’s my pleasure. My morning has been an absolute fucking dumpster fire. I’ll respond to your email.

  4. Steve says:

Racing in Hapeville tonight! Just across the tracks from downtown. Cmon down!

    • Barb says:

if it was in CoA, I’d have Allan come get me early & we’d watch before heading to the airport for my 1045pm flight tonight.

I guess I ought to think about packing at some point

  5. David says:

Wordle in 3 starting with STAND, which refers to the Come to Jesus meeting that was had yesterday.

Connections almost took me down, the last two categories blurred together for me.

I started watching A Man In Full last night on Netflix. It’s a very abbreviated version of the Tom Wolfe book. It is set and seems mostly filmed in Atlanta, a scene last night took place in EAV. It’s one of my absolute favorite books of all time and is about a fictional Atlanta real estate developer.

    • Jenka says:

Kevin forced me to read A Man in Full a couple of years ago. I never read modern books so it was a real departure for me. I really enjoyed it!

      • Barb says:

        ooooh – a 6 episode show – I like it!
        I will start watching it.

      • David says:

The book is fantastic. Tom Wolfe knows how to tell a tale. The show is a little grating because it’s such a gross oversimplification of the book, but it’s a perfect fit for where my head is presently. Definitely comfort food.

  6. Sally says:

Wordle in 4 starting with ARMED. My first 2 words were of little help. One mistake in Connections: Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple. Easy Strands.

Thanks to Barb and Allan for making burritos and margaritas last night.

Sprinkled a little on my morning run.

  7. Steve says:

.. and David, once I cleaned up my data, it worked like a champ! Thanks again.

  8. Jenka says:

Met my friend Sarah for dinner at Wisteria last night, which was delightful.

Busy day at work today and then we are heading up to the cabin for the weekend.

  9. Back from a productive morning walk. I took plants to a swap table, and then up to East Atlanta Village to return a dvd to the library. All in all I got in nearly three miles.

  10. Barb says:

the thing I hate about Strands is when I don’t care anymore & just want to know what words they used – I don’t see how to get the answers anywhere.
    Am I missing something?

  11. Bob says:

Wordle in 4 but I cheated because I’m impatient. Connections was easy today.
Hooliduro (bike race on trails we build and maintain in Roswell) ends at my house tomorrow. Got the smoker going with 16 pounds of pork shoulder for pulled pork tacos for the racers. We usually have 30 or so riders, 8 stages with a beer stop in the middle. Good times will be had, hope the weather holds out.

  12. Barb says:

went to Chick-fil-a for the 1st in forever & ever & ever for lunch.
Annette is now the new owner of a spaghetti squash plant.
I do not understand why everyone loves that place so much.
It is (to me) very pricy for what you get.

    • It’s the Lord’s sandwich, that’s why.

What? You gave away a plant? Inconceivable!!! 🙂
Hopefully it does well for her too.

      • Barb says:

she actually really likes spaghetti squash – so we decided she should try to grow one too.
I don’t really have that much room to have a vine like it grow (can’t be messing up Allan’s grass)
