The latest jigsaw puzzle has been completed and the dining room table is once again arranged as if I were going to have guests over for meals.
For last night’s dinner I made a chili that I never would have made previously, nor would I have eaten as a child. To a box of Carrol Shelby chili mix I added a block of Impossible burger, a tube of Impossible spicy sausage, a diced onion, a diced green pepper, a can of black beans, a can of kidney beans, the remainder of the bottle of tomato passata that I opened earlier in the week, and a can of Sam Adams Hazy NA IPA. Talk about a cupboard/refrigerator/freezer cleaner! This chili may have tasted better with a less fruity beer like a lager, but I am trying to find ways to use up this NA IPA; it was delicious!
I think today’s major effort should be to once again work on cleaning/organizing/decluttering my house.
No great shakes planned for the weekend. I really should get some exercise, even if my body is less than cooperative. I may treat myself to a meal out, or perhaps a trip to a grocery store so that I can buy perishables for meals next week.

Working today. Strider is coming to visit. I can’t wait to see him. Working tomorrow too. I’ll be at Red Top State Park on Sunday running the Red Top Rumble Course to make sure it’s all good for the GUTS race in a couple of weeks. GUTS party at Lenny’s on the Marietta Square Sunday night too.
I believe that I have proven in this blog’s nearly twenty year run that my mind works in strange ways. 😀
I am currently wearing the Red Top Rumble shirt I earned in 2009. I miss being able to run. Hell, at this time I really miss being pain free, and can’t recall the last time that I was. 🙁
For the first time I wondered where this year’s BRAG layover town will be — Milledgeville. We must remember to do a cheers to Benny that night. Do we know on which day the BRAG century will be?
I am guessing the century will be on the long day that’s 80 miles already. Wonder is Benny’s son will be joining us this year. You still have a 2009 shirt? I hope you get some answers to your back pain.

Sam Adams Hazy NA IPA. – doesn’t Betsy drink this sort of NA beer?
We always use the Carol Shelby box of chili spices -I even tried using the white chili packet in my last white chicken chili. ITs so much easier htan trying to figure out all the correct spices.
Speaking of chili – we have 7 or 8 people making Chili for the Wheelhopper 500th – so I won’t have to make too much myself.
I just use the Publix or Kroger spice pack, it works fine.
She does, but I am seeing if I can be creative with it first. Who knows, maybe’s I will make a beer bread this weekend?
Had my monthly therapy session yesterday, much needed since my last session was early December. Then we went to Ocean Wave for dinner.

Laura’s office mates are joining a bowling league and have invited me to join. I’m excited about this because I love bowling but the league is at Comet Pub & Lanes (formerly known as Suburban lanes). Driving to Decatur on Friday evenings will be not so much fun.
Glad I don’t have to compete with you for the Cheddarhead trophy any longer. Hahahaha
I love bowling, and I so wish there were lanes closer in town. The incorrectly-named Midtown Bowl might not be that far from me geographically but getting up there is a clusterfuck.
I’m horrible at bowling anymore.
But -we need to do it again one day soon.

They had a chili cookoff with a whole lot of (mostly) old people going on.
I don’t get the emails (Allan does) so I was shocked .
