I finally got around to choosing something to declutter on Friday, and that something was paperwork for devices I either no longer own, or will never refer to its manual.
Saturday morning with Betsy away meant that I had the opportunity to do some serious choring in WLF; and I did. With this being late July I harvested three more yellow squash (an abundant crop I have yet to figure out how to best utilize), perhaps my final zucchini, three small butternut squash, and four large sweet Georgia candy roaster squash. For dinner I went out and plucked another small ear of corn. In addition to harvesting I did a large amount of weed cleanup. Things are starting to look a little better. By the time I was done, after about three hours, my long sleeve technical t-shirt and long pants where drenched with sweat.
Yesterday ITP Reader John (Ham) reminded me that it has been fourteen years since the ITP Estate was burgled. He has a photo of yours truly screwing wood onto the window the asshats shattered to get into the house.
Because our initial plan to meet up for the ’65 Club Birthday Bash at Biggerstaff Brewing couldn’t be pulled off due to Biggerstaff’s Monday hours, we have settled on meeting at Wood’s Chapel BBQ in Summerhill at 6:30pm, and then perhaps crossing the street for a beer at Halfway Crooks afterward. All ITP Readers are welcome to join, you need not be born in 1965 to play along.
I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was TULIP. Last week my luck by starting with an S-word wasn’t markedly improved, so I am trying this week with T-words.
I just saw a commercial for “Only Murders in the Building”, which apparently returns August 8th. Woot!
I guess we need to finish watching season 2 1st.

Wordle in 6 and it shouldn’t have been that hard.
On the way home Friday, I tried to stop at several places to pick up dinner. Our first choice wasn’t going to be open by the time I arrived, so I shifted to choice 2. A drive through at a Zaxby’s had 8 cars and wasn’t moving- inside wasn’t better so I bailed. I made fish tacos at home and was quite happy.
A weekend of chores mostly, though I don’t remember Saturday. Sunday had me up at dawn to clean the man cave of old hay, in preparation for the new hay. I took a quick break from that to mow along the driveway and managed to shear off a blade when I hat a rock. I only realized this when I doubled back to make the second pass and saw the blade lying in the grass! A trip to Lowes (fail), a stop at HD (fail), a stop at NAPA (fail). It will be the Ace in Luthersville FTW later today for the replacement bolt.
No exercise except sweating in the man cave and restacking hay bales.

I’m back in Atlanta. One more scheduled trip next week will complete my summer travels (2 nights near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park so that I can ride the Cades Cove loop car-free at least 3 times next Wednesday).
I had a multi-modal return from Chicago. I can’t write about it this morning, but will discuss it at dinner tonight, and in the blog later in the week. I also had a major technology meltdown during my presentation in Indianapolis which wasn’t my fault and I got through it gracefully and recovered. It was one of 3 major confluences of events that I had to sort through on this trip.

I have already mowed the front lawn and am out laboring in WLF before it gets too hot. I’ve pulled a lot of tall grass that I hope is not the onset of bamboo, wearing my big rubber boots and gloves keeping in mind that snakes like tall grasses.
Sweating profusely, but making a visual difference and it will allow me to eat barbecue tonight. Lol
I had a busy enough weekend.
Decided to hell with the heat (we have fans) – we will have dinner on the deck!
Friday night some friends come over for dinner.
Saturday went to visit Sal at work, Mark had to exchange a pair of shoes, then to Scofflaw for a beer, then to Hankook for a mid afternoon lunch. Allan was working, so we met us for tacos. a little pool time, but Annette’s neighborhood pool is so warm, it wasn’t very refreshing.
Sunday Kevin came over to Marietta & we had breakfast at Red Eyed Mule. Then I asked Sue (Deposit) if their pool was available, as I know it gets some shade, so it might not be so warm. She “had” to go to Blacksheep, so we went & used the pool while they were gone. It was a glorious 75 degree water.
Then we got home, cooked up some thick cut bone in pork chops as I was having FOMO about RAGBRAI & Mr Pork Chop.

Just curious why you guys are doing your dinner on a Monday? Is it because it HAS to be in July? I would join you all but after the week/weekend I had I will be putting pajamas on as soon as I get home and squirreling away. I hope to hear David’s story at some point!
Yesterday we went to the Braves game and it was so effing hot we had to sit inside for the first hour of the game until our seats were in shade. Once we got to the seats it was fine, hot but bearable.
This week will be very busy; hell, this is the beginning of the busy season in general. Bye, summer!
Some people are busy (aka David) so we just happened to all have the 31st available. Didn’t really think about it being a Monday (or at least I didn’t).
Ah, that makes sense. I had a really stressful weekend so I need some quiet time. Next time!

We were just trying to squeeze it into July in recognition of our birthdays. If/when you get a break in your busy season we can schedule another dinner. It can even be in Candler Park! 😉
To save calories for tonight I am going to have to eat a small lunch, especially since I have been snacking on tiny tomatoes all morning.
Done choring, four hours is enough for me. Now showered, sitting in front of a fan, and preparing a small lunch.
I went out for a short 2 mile walk – went to buy another mega millions ticket at the gas station. It’s up to 1 Billion now. It’s worth $2 to me for the chance of winning. A woman in from of me spent $34.50 on all kinds of crap, Cash 3, Cash 4, etc. I just don’t understand people that spend that much daily…….

I’ll buy one on my way to dinner. I looked into setting up an online account but didn’t feel comfortable with the payment arrangement.
I would *never* buy a ticket if I had to go into a physical store to do so, so I went with the online payment option. The state has my information for paying taxes, and the lottery is just an optional tax in my mind.
oh, I know I could buy online, but that’s too easy. I make myself go to an actual store, get an actual ticket. This keeps me from ever buying much.
I’m uncomfortable giving debit card, bank, or PayPal information to pay for lottery tickets. For the rare instances that I purchase any I don’t mind popping into a convenience store and paying in cash.
Last week (or whenever it was) when the Powerball was up to 1 billion I tried to buy a ticket online but the location verification software didn’t work. I didn’t care enough to troubleshoot it.
I also forgot to mention that prior to going out to mow the lawn I baked a zucchini bread. Woot!
I just bought 2 from the comfort of my recliner. What a country.
Just read that Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman, has died. He was 70 and lost his battle with cancer.
