Today is the day I use to M6 to run errands, in no particular order:
Lowe’s
Richard’s Variety Store (I’ll explain tomorrow)
Goodwill (to donate more than purchase)
Publix?
Sprouts
Johnny’s New York Pizza (for lunch)
I am also hoping to get more time in WLF today ahead of the rain that is predicted for tomorrow.
Jenka’s mention of movies the other day reminded me that I was somewhat interested in seeing “A Man Called Otto”, the American remake starring Tom Hanks of “A Man Called Ove”, until I read a review in The Washington Post (hope you don’t need to be a subscriber to read). Apparently the Hanks version has been watered down for American audiences, so I am no longer interested.
I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was NOBLE
Wordle was almost too on the nose for me today, finishing in 6 starting with WASTE. Mini in 45.
Really? Odd. Even more odd is that I wrote today’s blog post last night, so I hadn’t played today’s Wordle yet when I did.
I could not come up with wordle – but finally got it in 5.
Mini – 1:24 – I should wait until later in the day.
We just went & saw A Man Called Otto last night- since I haven’t read the book, I can’t tell you how watered down it was. But – it was entertaining, got me a little teary here & there.
I kind of want to watch the original Ove movie now – see the differences. But – I’m not a huge fan of subtitles – my eyes don’t like reading that much. We will see – I see that movie available on Prime.
and – can’t read the Post article –
Here’s a gift link that should allow you to read it: https://wapo.st/3W7TRBU
Based on the review it appears to be watered down to pablum but I’m glad you liked it. I used to like watching Tom Hanks in pretty much anything.
My love for the story and Hanks as the main character would have gotten me to see it in a theater, until I read the review.
After reading the article (thanks David) I think you should see the movie some day.
I think it could possibly hit home in a different way. Tom Hanks does a good job.
(I will watch the original movie someday, when I feel like reading a movie, as I’m very interested now)
It is available on Amazon Prime. Because you have to read subtitles, it’s a lot like reading the book. Lol
Wordle in 3! Started with SAINT.
A quick note before heading into the office. I prolly wasted a half day of PTO this morning, as the meeting wasn’t terribly long. Will try to get a haircut before going in as well.
I don’t know the story on the movie, but it does look interesting.

I believe I talked about finding the book in a Little Library last year, and trying to re-read it, but had forgotten all of the plot points where Ove attempts suicide, which was too close to the bone for me at the time.
Busy morning already. I could not help myself and dragged two Christmas trees home this morning and have de-limbed them. I am going to attempt to either use the branches whole as path bedding, or run them through the chipper to see how then come out. The trunks will be sawn and burned next winter.
Out puttering around WLF, will shower and start the chores listed above in a couple of hours.
In from WLF, got most of my chores done but still more to do… as always.
I was wondering about A Man Called Otto, I haven’t heard anything about it, which is weird considering I’m an avid reader of People magazine. I’ll have to read the article.
We watched the entire latest season of Letterkenny last night, it’s only six short episodes.
Yesterday’s Wordle in four using STEAL.
Working my way through the latest Letterkenny. I’m on the fence with the show these days.
Paulie, you probably know the former Trader Joe’s Richard’s (“hers”) is alive and well in Ansley Mall. Same eclectic stuff, but a little better organized.

Yep, that is where I am headed. A lot of my chores are in the general vicinity of Ansley Mall.
Was able to stop in “downtown” Luthersville to get a long overdue haircut and have made it into the office.
I still have this annoying cough, which has been going on for about 2 weeks now and while it’s getting “better” is still hanging on. When I got home last night, I proceeded to cough for about 15 minutes and I had coughed very little/none all evening long. WTF, O?
I don’t know what a DITB would tell me- maybe a good script?
DIBT?
Just went to Chicken Salad Chick – sometimes, I just want chicken salad. Allan noticed there were plenty of men in the East Cobb location, maybe men are finally deciding its ok to eat chicken salad? (we noticed 1 day there were way more women than men, just like Baldino’s used to be way, more men than women)
Doc in a box.
Chicken Salad: food for the “Modern” Man.
I think Betsy is suffering the same coughing issues. I’ll ask her tonight.
Hey, remind me of the “favorite” auto repair place in Chamblee many on here used?
I think Paulie took “Jack” there, maybe others?
Anybody use them recently?
Disclaimer, I’ve had work done there, but can’t seem to find any record.
Many thanks es 73 de JG/HamWithCam
Peach Auto Service – Lam is the owner. Haven’t been there is a while, I know Dedra (House of B00bs) still goes there as she lives close. I need to stop by & say hi to Lam one of these days.
Thanks!

What Barb said.
Choring done, well, mostly done. Frustrated by the road construction on Piedmont at Cheshire Bridge I opted out of stopping at Sprouts. Also realized I was not wearing the proper clothes to lug around bags of compost, so I also skipped Lowe’s.
Details tomorrow.
I haven’t bought a lottery ticket in eons, but I spec’d $10 on this week’s $1.35 billion drawing, which raises raised my odds of winning from dead zero to a staggering 1 in 302 million. Or maybe 5 in 302 million since I bought 5 tickets. At least I was able to make the purchase from my desk at home. Modern times.
I blew $10 in Florida playing their lottery. I may do the same here, but should have done so while out buying gas today.
I bought 1 ticket – but also bought 1 Powerball ticket. So I spent $4
Fingers crossed! I don’t know what possessed me to buy lottery tickets. Nothing ventured, nothing gained though.
They do put $5 in your account for free if you buy tickets online. I could have been bullish and bought a couple more tickets with that, but I figured I wouldn’t spend my largesse all in one transaction. I have a strong feeling I’ll want to save it for some other drawing.
