  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 54 seconds.

    Heardle fail.

    • Barb says:

I failed at the Mini – I had to google some of the answers.
Wordle – took 5 – but again, I had to use the google, when the 1st 2 guesses has zero correct letters, I was at a loss, and I don’t like to think that hard this early in the morning.
Heardle – I have heard of the band, but didn’t know the song

    No joy in Wordle.

It looks like we finally have a crew for next weekend’s Para Nationals in Chattanooga. I only recognized a couple names, so it should be a learning experience. I’m not sure if USAC dropped the ball, or didn’t pay enough attention, but this has been less than a stellar effort. 55 riders have registered for the road race and time trial and it looks like 3 teams in the relay. I don’t know if this is a big crowd or not. We’re selecting a team to go to worlds (on their own dime). Registration closes tonight.

George again slept the night through, as did everyone else last night. Still not mastering the door. Debbie had me walk him last night to get him tired. Apparently he was wound up during the day.

Wordle in 4 starting with LEAST. I agree with Barb, that was a lot of thinking this morning. NYT Mini in 1:18 because of a word that I thought went out of style in the 80s. Heardle fail, no way I could name that tune or anything by that band.

  4. Barb says:

I love (sarcasm) when Allan goes to the grocery store. He calls me & I basically talk to him the whole time, as he keeps asking me about things. I don’t shop with a list either, but it just makes me laugh.

Yesterday was a crazy day work wise, so far (knocking on wood) its not so screwed up.

    • Steve says:

Barb, I was curious about something you mentioned the other day- the “yard” (not your term) in Fairburn and having to call them… are you looking for a specific car, or just wondering when a car will be taking to a dock?

      • Barb says:

the Fairburn rail ramp – we call it the yard (rail yard). Trying to get a specific rail container on a chassis – on wheels. The trains are on different tracks, and trying to get them maybe take a container off a train, sometimes the containers are just stacked, trying to get them to get it on wheels.

        • Steve says:

So is all your freight containerized or is some in cars? I know so little is in cars these days…

          • Barb says:

I only do intermodal, meaning 2 or more modes of transportation. All Containers – use a truck to get the load picked up, put just the container on the train, then use a truck to deliver.

  5. Barb says:

wish me luck – bought plane tickets for Allan & I to go to Iowa in October, using a free companion certificate. I’m trying to get Delta to apply the rest of the Ecredit money we have on Allan’s FF #. think it will work? We will see when Delta ever calls me back. I love that you can do the call back thing, being on hold for hours just is not my idea of fun.

    • Barb says:

Well – it worked with Delta, about 1 hour like they said, they called. We got it all changed & fixed, and I was able to use up Allan’s Ecredit. now I just need to see the credit for the 1st purchase, because she credited it & started over.

Wordle in 5 starting with STEAR.

Had to go to the Cafe today to get the scoop on a wreck I saw the aftermath of on Saturday. There was a car resting on top of a 4-foot sidewalk ledge and a sheriff’s vehicle on a wrecker. Apparently, there were 2 accidents – one following a high-speed chase of an unlicensed motorcycle driver who was speeding and popping wheelies through town. The second accident was the driver of the car on the sidewalk getting forced off the road by someone gawking at the first accident. Gotta love small-town life!

Had a nice ride yesterday evening. The temps were bearable and the sky was really beautiful. I managed to get my leg slammed into a post when my horse pushed through a tight opening. It’s swollen and turning lovely shades of purple, but not broken so all is good.
